Will Gore Move into third place in Carries/Yards?
OldTimeAFLGuy replied to DefenseWins's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ken Arthur Sports On Earth June 26, 2015 ..."After the 53 year-old Walker said on the radio a week ago that he could still play in the league, Atlanta coach Dan Quinn, perhaps a bit too excited to have full control over a team, invited Walker to come to Falcons training camp.".... Is Herschel Walker Serious? If you're a longtime NFL fan, then the following piece of information from Wikipedia should blow your mind, perhaps more than any football news you could have imagined. More than the idea that Tim Tebow could start for the Eagles this year, more than the idea that Tom Brady is a cheater, more than the notion that Los Angeles will go from zero teams to two. "Herschel Walker (born March 3, 1962) is a current professional football player for the Atlanta Falcons." ...I understand.....other than what we perceive to be his weight issues and whatever else spawned health wise to add to his woes, doubt he imagined it would be over at 38 years YOUNG...just sayin'........... -
Bills Stadium Situation A Big, Big Nut To Crack...
OldTimeAFLGuy replied to DefenseWins's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
...so then did he categorize in inner circles (forget the link request crap) that the Bills were "Kim's baby"?....perhaps we have a huge disconnect as far as his community enriching ventures versus SOLELY looking for financial gain......why the Harbor Center major investment?......why purchase additional real estate in downtown Buffalo?...why purchase the AHL Amerks in Rochester, negotiate to take over management of the arena and then pledge $10 mil towards upgrades?....couldn't he find safer less speculative investment vehicles if his SOLE purpose was to make money?....just curious as to why you underestimate the guy's sense of community..... -

...if in fact Pegula was "all about money", why state that he does not want fans to "break the bank" if a new stadium happens?....smoke, ruse or fan schmooze before the financial bomb hits?..what do you see as his motives as far as sounding to be fan friendly now?........just curious.... -

...quite the narrow sighted crock of crap.......he paid $1.4 BILLION in cash.......think about investing the SAME amount in a conservative vehicle and what his ROI would be....for tax purposes, I'd book no less than a jumbo rate interest bearing CD as a liability to mitigate taxes or consultant my tax accountants as to the maximum accrual under IRS rules.....solely about money?...you're way, WAY off base.......... -

...think the last one here was near Plattsburgh (NE corner of NYS-5.1 magnitude) back in April 2002......we felt a tiny bit here in Roch-Cha-Cha.......weird feeling.. ...thought I read that the 2nd Cali quake has been attributed to Maxine Waters dropping her makeup bag.......will check further.......

RIP Lee Iococca (mildly belated)
OldTimeAFLGuy replied to RochesterRob's topic in Off the Wall Archives
...CERTAINLY glad you're ok despite the residual effects.......his timing was right relative to the 1979 energy crisis, selling over 2 million of them......they were hardly a bastian of safety features nor was his Pinto.....the Mustang lives on today......he was an icon as was DeLorean who was responsible for the Pontiac GTO and the brand becoming performance related.....two of my favorite industry icons and both are now gone......two favorite lines attributed to Lee: (1)......... "If you can find a better vehicle, buy it"..... (2)..."lead, follow or get out of the way (used by others also)"........ -
...BEG you?.....you get the "red carpet" my good friend......they make me use the back door..........

...here are some of my experiences to share....you decide what fits... 1. MLB at the Kingdome: Mariners vs Twins-in Seattle for software conference; host company rented late Paul Allen's suite (Microsoft); Big Papi jacked a moon shot for the Twins; no aroma of ball park dogs, beerman or peanut guy yellin', boring 2. Bills games outside in the winter-you all know that drill; bundle up 3. Our corporate suite games-despite the conveniences of food & beverage delivered as well as rest rooms across the hall, like watching a football game from an aquarium 4. M&T Club-theater style seating, open bar and a continual buffet with snacks and then dinner throughout the day-nice presentation ...so it's a tough call for Pegula as to what would optimize seat sales...BUT ...the principal factor will always be if still competitive late November of December....I know with our corporate suite, when the Bills were officially out of it in late November, we would have to BEG people to go to a game...mind you it would include $1,500+ in suite food & beverage and $1,080 for limo bus transportation bus from Roch-Cha-Cha...
