  1. ...some pretty serious accusations..... Trent Williams: Doctors downplayed for more than five years tumor that was cancerous Posted by Josh Alper on October 31, 2019, 4:00 PM EDT Washington left tackle Trent Williams met with reporters on Thursday for the first time since returning to the team this week and provided details about the medical condition that played a major role in his decision to stay away from the team until Tuesday. Williams said he went to team doctors almost six years ago about the growth on his head that he wound up having removed this offseason. He said the doctors told him it was a minor condition at the time and he accepted that diagnosis while continuing to play. The growth continued to grow, however, and he sought other outside opinions earlier this year. That was when he learned he had Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans, which is a rare, soft-tissue cancer. “I had cancer. I had a tumor removed. It got pretty serious for a second. I was told some scary things by the doctor,” Williams said, via Kareem Copeland of the Washington Post. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/10/31/trent-williams-growth-on-head-was-cancer/#comments

  15. New York Jets 2019 Season Preview: Players to watch and record prediction Sam Darnold and new additions could put the Jets over the top in 2019 By Ralph Vacchiano | Sep 6 | 5:15PM -SNY FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- The arrival of Sam Darnold gave Jets fans something they had been lacking for years: Hope. And that hope for the future got stronger as the new franchise quarterback got better late in his rookie season. Now, that hope has become excitement and expectation. Even Darnold admits things are different this season. Even he knows that what he did last season was just the start. "I think I was in a different place," the 22-year-old said. "Just being a rookie going into my first game, I was just feeling a little bit different. I wasn't nearly as comfortable as I am now." He's looked more comfortable and more confident all summer, and with good reason. The Jets have a lot of new pieces around him, from offensive-minded coach Adam Gase to dangerous running back Le'Veon Bell to elusive receiver Jamison Crowder. They believe all the pieces are in place. And even though none of them will publicly say "playoffs," they believe their time to arrive as a postseason contender is now. Are they right? Can Darnold really leap into the ranks of the elite quarterbacks? Will Bell still be one of the NFL's best weapons after a 20-month layoff? Or are there still just enough holes on the roster -- particularly on defense -- to delay the Jets' take off for another year? Here's a preview of the 2019 Jets : https://www.sny.tv/jets/news/new-york-jets-2019-season-preview-players-to-watch-and-record-prediction/310575494
  16. Andy Dalton said agent tried to facilitate a trade ahead of deadline Posted by Josh Alper on October 30, 2019, 11:55 AM EDT Quarterback Andy Dalton isn’t thrilled about being benched by the Bengals, but it appears he’s also unhappy with the timing of the move. Dalton spoke to reporters on Wednesday about Tuesday’s announcement that fourth-round pick Ryan Finley will be taking over as the starter once the team returns from their bye week. “I don’t agree with the decision but I’m going do everything I can to help the team,” Dalton said, via Paul Dehner of TheAthletic.com. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/10/30/andy-dalton-said-agent-tried-to-facilitate-a-trade-ahead-of-deadline/#comments
  17. ...uh oh.....anybody have Al Gore on speed dial??.............. Explosion in Antarctic sea ice levels may cause another ice age By Chris Ciaccia | Fox News Upside-down "rivers" of warm ocean water may be one of the causes of Antarctica's ice shelves breaking up, leading to a rise in sea levels. But a new study suggests an increase in sea ice may lead to a much more devastating change in the Earth's climate — another ice age. Using computer simulations, the research suggests that an increase in sea ice could significantly alter the circulation of the ocean, ultimately leading to a reverse greenhouse effect as carbon dioxide levels in the ocean increase and levels in the air decrease. “One key question in the field is still what caused the Earth to periodically cycle in and out of ice ages,” University of Chicago professor and the study's co-author, Malte Jansen, said in a statement. “We are pretty confident that the carbon balance between the atmosphere and ocean must have changed, but we don’t quite know how or why." https://www.foxnews.com/science/explosion-antarctic-sea-ice-ice-age
