  1. And the rain ended when the song ended. Daltrey's comment afterward: "I'll bet The Stones can't do that."
  2. Suddenly there's a bunch of people saying we shouldn't invest in D anymore - beef up the O instead. Well, last year's O was good enough to reach, and probably win, the SB; the defense blew the Chiefs game. This year's offense is the league's 3rd highest in points per game, and that includes Sunday's anomaly. Granted, this year's D is the best in the league, but it's not like our offense, which has averaged over 27 points per game, is in desperate need of upgrades. Beane and McD have built this team by drafting, trading, and FA signing based on value and availability, not reaching for short-term needs. When they see someone who's available, affordable, and better than what we currently have at any given position, they go for it. That's how you build a sustaining contender. We've had key injuries on both sides of the ball - more than in a typical year - which has resulted in two horrible games, both of which came down to the final play. It's hard to look at that and say the front office is neglecting anything.
  3. Seems like that would be a monthly occurrence.
  4. Nugent. Stranglehold is a good tune; everything else he did is pretty "meh" in my book.
  5. 1982. I was there too. They made it rain. 🙂
  6. War Huh! Yeah What is it good for? Absolutely nothing Say it again, y'all
  7. I don't have much use for an alarm clock these days, but I did set mine to wake me at 5AM (CST) today to catch the lunar eclipse in mid-totality. No pics of this one - we were living in the moment - but here's a little something from 2003. That eclipse occurred in the early evening, so I set up a camera on a tripod, took a pic every ten minutes or so, compiled the best images, and used some free animation software to show the Moon passing through the Earth's shadow.
  8. Every album after Back in Black sounds just like Back In Black. They're the world's most environmentally-friendly band: they've been recycling the same material for 42 years. “I’m sick to death of people saying we’ve made 11 albums that sound exactly the same. In fact, we’ve made 12 albums that sound exactly the same.” - Angus Young But the Bon Scott era was their prime, in my opinion.
  9. Strap me in, tie down, and roll me a bone I'm gettin on an airplane, and I'm flyin home Strap me in, tie down, I'm learning to fly Travel cross the country, I get too f***in' high
  10. Pat McAfee (Colts fan) told Brandon Beane "F*** you" for taking Nyheim Hines; I wonder if this is him talking to Irsay today:
  11. Well, if you're only gonna like one, that's a damn fine choice. Franklin's Tower, along with its "intro" (Help on the Way and Slipknot) is my favorite Dead song. I think of them as a three-part suite, since that's how they appear on the studio album and how they frequently played them in concert.
  12. Whoever named the band after the rhythm section was prophetic, as Mick Fleetwood and John McVie are the only members to be on every Fleetwood Mac record. I love their blues era. Not a big fan of the Bob Welch years, although "Hypnotized" is a cool song. The early years with Lindsey and Stevie were phenomenal, but after Rumours they went downhill.
  13. An ounce of perception A pound of obscure Process information At half speed Pause Rewind, replay Warm memory chip Random-sample Hold the one you need
  14. I think most great bands have an 8-10 year window where they produce some cutting-edge stuff. After that, they tend to stagnate. In general, my favorite bands were at their best from the mid-1960s through the late-1970s, give or take a few years. I agree with your assessment of Pink Floyd and Rush. I'll add The Who (my favorite band). Their first two post-Moon albums were pretty good, but not great. They did two more studio albums after those - one in 2006 and another in 2019 - and I'm not a fan of either one.
  15. I've got wild staring eyes And I've got a strong urge to fly But I got nowhere to fly to Ooh, babe when I pick up the phone There's still nobody home
  16. I wore navy blue underwear. Bills' colors apparently didn't like being next to my junk.
  17. So I called up the Captain "Please bring me my wine" He said, 'We haven't had that spirit here Since 1969"
  18. Leaving New York in order to play the "New York" team.
  19. Bought the CD based on hearing this song on the radio. Was disappointed in the rest of the disc.
  20. Yesterday, lost in a crowd. Yesterday, lost in a crowd. I was lost, lost, now I'm found.
  21. Typical Stormtrooper - he even missed the memo.
  22. I suppose the articles about players dissing each other get more clicks, but I'm glad they highlight some of the good sportsmanship in the league, too.
  23. “I spent half my money on gambling, alcohol, and wild women. The other half I wasted.” - WC Fields
