You make some great points, but being "big picture smart" and genuinely caring about players isn't an either/or proposition. In any business, taking care of your people - preferably out of a sincere concern for their welfare - is a good long-term strategy. So the fact that McD and Beane genuinely care about the players is, in fact, being "big picture smart." Other businesses are starting to see that, due to the shortage of quality workers. Heck, I'm a freelancer and my clients go out of their way to make me happy so I'll continue working for them.

We have DSL, not cable, so we don't share bandwidth with the neighborhood. (At least not between us and the ISP.) And we're not near WNY or NE, so I doubt the game had a lot of local interest anyway. Whenever I've had trouble with a streaming service, I can switch to another service and get a perfect stream. I didn't try it during the game, but for movies and shows, I've done it. That tells me that my bandwidth is not the issue.

We've had Amazon Prime for about four years and never had streaming problems - no interruptions, no quality issues - so I was expecting a good experience with the game. I was disappointed. Like you said, quite a few interruptions and several times when the pixelization was so bad I couldn't see where the ball was.

Al used to be the best play-by-play announcer in the game but he probably should have retired a few years ago. Last night when the Bills punted for the first time, he said that last year vs the Pats*, Martin never saw the field. A moment later (I'm guessing after someone told him), he corrected himself and said that Martin wasn't even on the team last year. I don't think he makes that mistake in his prime.
