  1. That's SOP for CEOs these days.
  2. I'm continually amazed by the number of people who believe that procreation is the ONLY reason to do the deed.
  3. In grade school, my friend Bill was one of twelve kids. Then, in junior high, my friend John was also one of twelve kids. (Both Catholic schools - go figure. 😉 ) John and I were on the same Little League baseball team, and in our second year, both his older and younger brothers were also on the team. I'm one of four, but I remember my Mom saying that she'd wanted six. I'm the youngest, so I like to think that they stopped with me because they finally got it right. 😉
  4. You say the hill's too steep to climb Chiding You say you'd like to see me try Climbing You pick the place and I'll choose the time

  8. We're rotating plans too. We have Amazon Prime, but mainly for the shipping, so the streaming is a free bonus. We also have Paramount Plus for all things Star Trek (plus a few other shows.) For now, at least, we'll keep both of those all the time. Last year, I wanted to watch the Beatles documentary, so we subscribed to Disney+ for a month. During that time, we binged the first two seasons of The Mandalorian and then canceled the service. We recently re-upped for another month or two to see the 3rd season, along with a few other Star Wars series, and we'll cancel when the Mandalorian finishes its season. There are a couple of shows I want to see on Nexflix and Hulu, so we'll subscribe to one, binge the shows, cancel, and subscribe to the other. I figure as long as they don't start requiring annual contracts, we'll just keep the Disney/Netflix/Hulu rotation going. Even if you count the cost of Amazon Prime, our total streaming bill is around $25/month - a fraction of what we were paying for DirecTV. As for Sunday Ticket, no matter what they charge, not having to subscribe to a full DirecTV or YouTubeTV package will save us a ton. If I can get a Bills-only subscription for considerably less, I'll jump on it.
  9. But the fool on the hill sees the sun going down And the eyes in his head see the world spinning around

  14. Someone else mentioned concussions. I simply pointed out another physical affliction that could cause memory loss.
  15. Long Covid can lead to cognitive disorders. Maybe he forgot.
  16. Nobody's going for the traditional seven-course meal?
  17. He helped the Bills beat the Jags by getting ejected from a game in which he was dominating.
  18. Leroy Hoard: "Coach, if you need one yard, I'll get you three yards. If you need five yards, I'll get you three yards". I had the same quote in mind. And I'm okay with that in this case. We had too many third-and-short situations where we couldn't - or chose not to - run the ball for a first. Fournette is an experienced power back, and that's what we need. He's also decent in pass protection and he can catch, adding another dimension to our offense.
  19. Understandable. Good on the end-around plays, but not much of a receiving threat.
  20. I wonder which of his ex-wives wrote that.
  21. Our son's workplace is having a potluck lunch today, so yesterday my wife whipped up a batch of Shepherd's Pie for him to bring in. She made extra, so we had it for dinner last night. She used ground beef, not lamb, so it's technically not true Shepherd's Pie but it was tasty!
