  1. Dedicated to the offensive linemen:
  2. This is the opening theme song of the Mr Mercedes miniseries:
  3. I guess a bunch of people from Buffalo said, "We really like the lake-effect snow, but it's not quite cold enough."
  4. Are there a lot of Buffalo transplants in upper Michigan?
  5. 2017 headline: Dennison Taylors the Offense. 2015 headline: Ryan Rex the Defense.
  6. I thought both of them were catches. In both cases, the receiver caught the ball, established possession, turned, and took two steps. To me, turning and taking two steps constitutes a "football move". Neither receiver was making a diving catch, and it's the diving catch that requires the receiver to maintain possession after hitting the ground. At least the refs were consistent and called them both incomplete. It actually worked in the Bills favor, since we scored a TD on the next play, where Denver's no-catch ended a drive.
  7. It was interesting but I'm not paying for the streaming service, so I'll wait until it's on DVD and binge watch it.
  8. Better grab a Snickers bar, Coach.
  9. I wondered how many times his name would be called before the announcers mentioned it yesterday. Might have been his second catch.
  10. Every time I see a player showboating at the 5 yard line it drives me crazy. Score, THEN celebrate.
  11. I agree with much of the OP's assessment, but the first two negatives are all about the O-line. They get a D-. Tyrod was good, but not A+ good. Those two misses to wide open receivers (when he wasn't under pressure) drop him to an A-. It's cool, though - I'll take an A- performance from a QB. As far as relying on Tyrod's passing, that's a consequence of teams stacking the box to kill our run game. They relied on Shady in the first two games, which worked against the Jets but not Carolina, so they changed the game plan. We needed to put this game on TT just to prove to other teams that 1) we're willing to do that, and 2) he can handle it. I think we'll see a more productive run game now that defenses have to respect the passing game.
  12. He got burned early, but man is he a fast learner. Nice game, Tre!
  13. Going into the game I saw a decent Denver offense going against a very good Bills defense. I expected the Bills offense to be stifled by the Denver D. 26 points? Really?? I didn't predict a final score, but I expected something in the 17-6 range, with Denver sealing the win by tiring out the Bills defense in the 4th. Look back at the last pass of the Carolina game, and we're six inches away from being 3-0. I'm shocked.
  14. Not to defend the Ryan brothers, but the reply to that would be, "Why am I on your show if I'm not so brilliant?" If course, remembering the confusion and late defensive play calling last year, Rob would think of that reply several questions later.
  15. It's a complicated problem. On the one hand, he's saying that the league rewards bad QBs who play conservatively, but he also acknowledges that there are only a handful of really good QBs. If the teams without elite QBs play more aggressively, I think you'll see a lot more blowout games, especially when those teams face one of the greats.
  16. 1. I already acknowledged - and you quoted it - that our offense made their D look great. 2. Also in that quote I said, "Bend but don't break is not an insult - they did their job. Bend but don't break means give up a couple of field goals but not a TD. That's what they did. I'm freakin' happy - overjoyed - at the defensive performance. They did exactly what was asked of them. They bent, but didn't break. I see 9 points as bending, where a perfect game is a shutout. But that's not an insult. Giving up 9 points should be enough to win against any team. The defense played good enough to win. They played better than good enough to win. They deserved to win. I'm not complaining at all about the defense.
  17. "Yeah, if you could put all the Tyrod complaints into one thread, that'd be great."
  18. They let the Panthers eat up chunks of clock and get near/into the red zone four or five times, but held them to 3 FGs. That's pretty much the definition of "bend but don't break." Straight f@#$ing balling is what their D did to us. Granted, our offense made their D look better than it is, but statistically, their D was straight f@#$ing balling. Semantics. "Bend but don't break" is not an insult - they did their job.
  19. "He knows the system."
  20. Agreed. After what they did to the Packers last night, its gonna be an ugly Sunday for the Bills in Georgia.
  21. Good post, Shaw. I agree with the optimism regarding the team discipline - it's good to see that ... finally. As for the next few games, I expect to be 1-3 going into Cinci. I don't see the offense turning it around anytime soon. But long term, there's reason to be hopeful. It really looks like McD and company are building a winner, but it won't happen overnight.
  22. Bingo. He was touched slightly, but that was one superb acting job, not offensive PI.
