Pete wanted the other members of the band to interpret the songs however they wanted. I agree. I find some voices annoying as hell, and that's not dependent on the speaker's gender. I didn't find hers all that bad, but to each his own. I also cringe at certain announcers' pronunciations, like Wilcots (Buffalo Beals), Gannon (Owfense), and Gruden (Nickle Roby).

"Politically correct" is so overused. It's really just a matter of respecting other people. The phrase itself was coined by bigots who complained that they weren't allowed to hate [insert hated group] because it's not politically correct. You're allowed to hate anyone you want. Likewise, others are allowed to call you out on it if you're exhibiting bigotry. It's not sexist (or "politically incorrect," if you prefer) to criticize her performance. It IS sexist to say that a woman shouldn't be announcing a football game. It's sexist BY DEFINITION. There's been some of both in this thread.
