  1. I wish the patriots had that attitude before they hired Belichick.
  2. This guy does a decent job of it ... for a street musician:
  3. "Comfortably Numb" gets all the glory (and it IS a great solo) but I think the solo from "Time" is better.
  4. Gives new meaning to "The City of Brotherly Love," doesn't it?
  5. "You can have my tractor when you pry it from my cold, dead legs."
  6. Sorry you have to go through this. I don't know if this is available everywhere, but when we had to put our first dog down, we found a traveling vet - one who comes to the house. She absolutely hated going to the vet, and I couldn't let that be her last experience in life, so we paid the extra $50 or so and had it done at home. She went out with a stomach filled with leftover steak and dog biscuits, in the comfort of our back yard, with me and the vet tech petting her. Wife was at work, and son (1st grade at the time) was at school. They knew it was happening, but I didn't want them to have to watch it.
  7. Nope. I've seen the movie before and I hated the ending; no need to watch it again. When the replay official overturned the Steelers' TD in the pats game, with no conclusive evidence, I knew that NE would go on to win the SB. The league wants a storybook dynasty to boost its ratings. I've outgrown fairy tales. Last SB I thoroughly enjoyed the first half, but as I watched the Falcons sideline celebrating and the fans chanting "Na na na na, hey hey, goodbye" - BEFORE HALFTIME - I knew the Falcons would find a way to choke. Given that, I wouldn't enjoy watching the game, so I'll skip it and hope that I'm pleasantly surprised when I read the final score later that evening. This will be the first SB I've missed in a loooooong time. (So long that I can't remember the last time.) I haven't watched the Pro Bowl since they moved it to the week before the SB, but I may watch it this year, if only for the fact that no pats will be playing.
  8. Greasing the light pole.
  9. In Jamestown, there used to be a mom & pop grocery store - Rigoli's - who made the absolute best subs I've ever had. Delicious and filling, at a reasonable price. They were made to order, and a lot of people would call in an order in the morning for a lunchtime pickup.
  10. If I were going to spoof the phrase Rock and Roll, I would have gone with The Stones - I know it's only Rocky Road but I like it - but Weird Al's choice is good too.
  11. As if being a Bills fan isn't bad enough for my health...
  12. Rock trivia: The bass line of this song inspired Roger Waters' bass line for "Money."
  13. When asked to comment, Mrs. McDermott smiled playfully and said:
  14. It's a different price depending on the buyer. BB let him go to an NFC team - one that he'll only face once every four years - for a second-round pick. He wouldn't make that trade with a division rival, or even another AFC team in a different division.
  15. We beat the Colts in the snow for TO's last game as a Bill. He was having a blast. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-3/Jackson-and-Bills-roll-over-Colts/e94c8fc4-ab42-4f87-ab26-240037e70799
  16. I won't say this was meaningless to me, but since we didn't make the playoffs that year, I suppose it would be considered meaningless to some people. http://www.buffalobills.com/video/videos/Bills-Rewind-2011-Bills-Patriots-Highlights/0cc6f306-61cf-4b12-9450-bc4b83c91aa5 Oh, and beating the Jets in Detroit on "Tuesday Night Football" after the blizzard. We won two games in Detroit that season. Think about that - there were years when the LIONS couldn't win two games in Detroit!
  17. The OP is true to his user name.
  18. 1. Anyone but NE. 2. Vikings. Multiple Super Bowl losses in the past. Playing in a division with a perpetual contender. Sound familiar?
  19. The fifth one is "One for the Thumb." What do you do with the sixth?
  20. Worth the risk, I'd bet.
  21. Some guys find Venus and Serena Williams unattractive. I don't.
  22. I watched a rerun of Death at a Funeral. Much more entertaining than a rerun of NE winning. It makes me sick to watch them anymore - especially after the screw-job that the officials did during the NE-Pitt game. I won't watch next week, and if they win, there's a good chance that this will be the first year in many decades that I don't watch a Super Bowl. Sorry NFL, but the script is getting old. You want a storybook dynasty, but I've outgrown fairy tales. Until the two Sith lords - Darth Hoodious and Darth Bündchen - retire, I doubt I'll ever watch a NE game again.
