  1. Now I don't know but I've been told It's hard to run with the weight of gold Other hand I heard it said It's just as hard with the weight of lead
  2. I'm thinking late December, early January. The season might not have been over then. (My son's birthday is Sunday, and ... well, without going into detail, nine months prior to his arrival we were visiting family and we only had one opportunity for a few hours of privacy. It was shortly after Christmas.)
  3. Do it doggie-style and you can both watch.
  4. Only 1.6% of all NCAA players make it to the professional level - not even NFL necessarily, just professional at some level. This means that over 98% of the NCAA players represent, in your own words, "a giant pool of nobodies and never-will be's."
  5. User name checks out. Then perhaps you should go to OBD and say, "Hey, if you'll pay me millions of dollars, I'll do a better job than that guy who has more than twenty years of professional experience." I'm sure they'll be happy to look over your CV.
  6. Years ago, I watched one episode of Pardon the Interruption. I've never felt the need to watch it, or any other sports "debate" show, again.
  7. Because it's football. I lost interest in other sports, so the NFL's off-season leaves me craving some kind of football, even if the caliber is a notch lower than the NFL. (I mean, you could say the same about college football.) Even so, I don't make it a point to stay home and watch the USFL/XFL like I do for Bills' games. But if I'm home and it's on, I'm likely to tune in.
  8. Nothing to say, nothing to hear Nothing to see Each sensation makes a note In my symphony
  9. I think it was Josh's rookie season. OC Daboll is coaching from the sideline. We're down a few points with time to run one play. Josh lays a perfect game-winning TD pass and the receiver drops it. Remember Daboll's reaction? He fell over face-first into the ground. I like my coordinators displaying their passion.
  10. When they showed it on TV, I tried to lip-read and came up with, "F*** yeah!" and something else I couldn't figure out. Now that I've watched the recording a few times, I still think that.
  11. Better than last week when he was the Jets' MVP. (I kid, I kid.)
  12. Actually, it was the accountants who said, "Make that with cheaper materials. Oh, and we have to pay the workers now, so cut costs even more, by any means necessary."
  13. Dear Prudence Won't you come out to play? Dear Prudence Greet the brand new day
  14. Almost two years off, since they knew he faced a long suspension upon his return. The bigger gamble was the fully guaranteed, back-loaded contract that gives them no reasonable out if he under-performs.
  15. It's one thing to go all in when you're staring at four aces, but not when you're drawing to an inside straight. The Browns made a stupid gamble on an unknown quantity, and it's going to haunt them for years.
  16. And I feel like a number Feel like a number Feel like a stranger A stranger in this land
  17. At least the pot smokers don't get violent. Four drunks will start a fight; four stoners will start a band.
  18. Agreed. "Dink and dunk" also keeps the opposing offense on the sidelines and gives your defense a chance to rest. Very important when you're playing a high-powered offense like the Chiefs.
  19. If you spend a lot of time emptying kegs, then Kegel exercises might prevent some unfortunate accidents.
  20. Some of us have more than a Twitter-length attention span, and we appreciate the detailed posts by Virgil, Shaw, and a few others.
  21. Thanks for the clarification. I lost interest in baseball years ago, so I guess I never knew some of the nuances in terminology.
  22. Watching it live I thought it was PI, but the replay showed that he didn't really impede the receiver's route, so I can see why they picked it up.
  23. Baseball terminology. The closer (the last relief pitcher) gets the save if the team was in the lead when he took over and maintained it until the end.
