FYI: My season ticket invoice just arrived for 2019

That awkward moment when you realize your algebra teacher was right: word problems DO occur in real life. ? -
It's football. The NFL season is seven months away. No chance of a Patriots victory. I'm in.

There's a video - automatically playing - on that page. "Hey, you know that annoying thing that our website does? Well, soon you'll be able to stop that." I love the smell of irony in the afternoon!
-
And it stopped raining just as the song ended, to which Roger Daltrey joked, "I'll bet The Stones can't do that." I wasn't into The Clash at the time but I was impressed with their show.
-
Fair enough - I should have qualified my statement by adding "in an automotive service class." Unless it's a course on alternative payment methods for car repairs! ?
-
I turned it off when the last FG was kicked.

No. I didn't know him well, but I was friends with the other guy who taught auto. He told me about it after it happened.

Intentional. As in, "Check this out, guys!" And it was a college computer, not his personal laptop. As soon as the complaint came in, the HR director brought an IT person and a campus police officer over to his office. They confiscated the classroom computer and escorted him off campus. I don't know whether he showed up for his disciplinary hearing or if he just knew he was toast and didn't bother. But your question reminded me of a grad course I took about 15 years ago. The class met in an open lab, and one night a porn pop-up appeared about an hour into the professor's lecture. He wasn't looking at the screen at the time, so it took a minute for him to realize it happened. I doubt that he was the one who visited the site - the lab was open to students when classes weren't meeting in there, so it could have been anyone.

True - in fact, I started CC a couple months shy of my 18th birthday. As for HS students, at this college, high school students taking college courses have to get their parents to sign a waiver agreeing that they understand that the students will be exposed to college-level material, and professors are informed of who in the class is a high school student. Regardless of the students' ages, I think (or at least I hope) we can all agree that showing porn in class is an offense worthy of being fired.

Mine was finding bar specials on weeknights. (Legal age was 18 back then.) Monday: ten cent wings and three splits for $1. Tuesday: Two-for-one drinks Wednesday: quarter drafts Thursday: $1 pitchers of gimlets

Super Bowl Feast Menus-Post Them
WhoTom replied to OldTimeAFLGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We do that sometimes. Tonight we went with pesto on both, since we had a container of homemade pesto in the freezer and it was big enough for both pizzas. Topped with sweet red peppers, onions, artichoke hearts, black olives, and mozzarella cheese. (I shake some crushed red pepper on my pieces.) Sweetwater Hop Hash IPA to wash it down. The meal was way better than the first half of the game. -
Yeah, they would have had to run at least one actual play, maybe two. No reason not to call TOs.
-
If Clay catches the final pass in the Miami game, I'll bet that play makes the top ten.

I don't see the point of bragging about something I had no part in. Actually, I don't see the point of bragging at all, but if I really felt the need, it would be about a personal achievement, not the success of my hometown sports team. -
I had a colleague who taught automotive service technology. In the early 2000s, he decided to show Internet porn on the classroom projector during class. (This is a community college - no minors, but still...) If you think tenured faculty members can't get fired, think again. He was immediately suspended and officially terminated at the next Board of Trustees meeting. The union ensured that due process was followed, but they didn't lift a finger to oppose his removal. Unrelated to that, one of our IT guys once told me that they can monitor what websites every person on campus is visiting (I knew that already), and he said, "You wouldn't believe how many upper administrators log on at 8AM and immediately surf for porn."

I agree that Foles is worth a second (at least), but not for this reason. Just because the Browns gave us a third for Tyrod doesn't mean he's worth a third. Beane swindled them on that deal.

I love how you flaunt those trophies as if you were the one who earned them. Congrats on doing such a spectacular job of being born in a region that would eventually field a great team. -

We're doing homemade pizza. My wife makes the dough and we collaborate on the toppings. Haven't decided whether I'll drink beer or Bloody Marys. If we do red sauce on the pizza, then it's beer. If we go pesto, then either is an option. -
Interesting yet weird story on stadium bathrooms

What if the child had been conceived in that bathroom? (Asking for a friend.) -

Whoever came up with the term "Fun Size" to describe miniature candy bars probably has a disappointed wife. -
Makes sense - small hands, small tolerance for alcohol. I guess he'd be a cheap date, but terribly unsatisfying.

Does he order his beer with a straw, since his hands are too small to pick up the glass?

Dolphins expected to cut Tannehill

I think Tyrod is going to have a Fitz-like career - not in terms of playing style, but he's a high-end backup/low-end starter, and teams that are trying to stay competitive while looking for their franchise QB will sign him. He'll play for a few more teams, 2-3 years each, before bouncing to the next. And he'll make good money in the process.
