That's my issue with it too. Our offense needs long sustained drives. I suppose that could be done with a no-huddle offense, assuming it's not a "hurry-up" offense. No huddle, Josh takes his time reading the defense, and we run a mix of running plays and high-percentage short passes, including a lot of play-action and the occasional screen pass. Seems like for the past 20 years, our defense gets burned on screen passes while our offense can't even put one together. How many OCs do we have to go through before we find one who can design an effective screen pass?

If the offense has its act together, we're 7-0. I agree that the injuries on D have been devastating, but the D has done enough to win every game this year. Even when the opposing team scored a lot, our offense should be able to 1) outscore them, or 2) at least sustain enough drives to keep the opposing offense off the field for a while. Given the injuries on D, I'm quite impressed by its performance. Given that there are very few injuries to key players on offense, I'm quite disappointed in its performance.

Along the same lines - getting the players involved in play calling - I was thinking that Dorsey might be better on the sideline instead of up in the booth. That way, he can talk to the players face-to-face and get a better feel for what's going on out there. From the booth, he sees the forest; he needs to get a tree-level perspective too.
