  1. Steelers. I can't see the Browns pulling off an upset at Arrowhead. The Ravens might, which puts the AFCC game in Buffalo (assuming we beat the Steelers of course.)
  2. I'm happy to say that you're right about that. 🙂 I'm of Sicilian ancestry and I grew up in WNY but, to my knowledge, nobody in my family was involved in organized crime. I did find out a few years ago that one set of my great grandparents moved their family from Russel, PA to WNY because a mobster had his eyes on their daughter - the young lady who would eventually marry a WNY guy and become my grandmother. So in that respect, I suppose I owe my very existence to the PA mafia. But my aversion to the term has nothing to do with my ancestry - I'd just prefer not to be affiliated with the mob. And for the record, The Godfather is one of my favorite movies of all time.
  3. Every man in the world: "TL;DR"
  4. In that case, I'd prefer Bills Family. I know "Mafia" sounds more badass, but I'm not crazy about the organized crime reference, which seems to be more appropriate for that team near Boston.
  5. Come away, come away, if you're going Leave the sinking ship behind. Come on the rising wind We're going up around the bend.
  6. I was thinking of that too. Not only have we not lost a game since then, we haven't played a bad game since then ... until yesterday. It seems like the loss to the Cards was the wake-up call the team needed: don't just win, but dominate. Every game since, there was never a moment where I was seriously worried that we'd lose ... until yesterday. After the Hail Murray, the Bills went on a seven-game domination streak. All we need now is a three-game winning streak. I'm feeling pretty good about that. (Yes, I realize the playoff teams are more competitive than the ones we played after the bye. I'm still feeling good.)
  7. I'm so old, I saw that when it aired live.
  8. They didn't bring their A-game, but eked out a win anyway. Much like the Hail Murray game, this will be a wake-up call. I expect them to be much better prepared next week.
  9. You better stay away from him He'll rip your lungs out, Jim Huh, I'd like to meet his tailor.
  10. Good thing they don't have to worry about hosting or flying to a playoff game. 🙂
  11. Correlation does not equal causality. He played well under pressure at Dallas and Pittsburgh in 2019, in front of hostile crowds on national TV. I'd say his improvement this year was due to another year of experience and off-season training, not the absence of crowds.
  12. Hendrix didn't want to follow The Who either, for the same reason. They ended up tossing a coin. The Who won, so Hendrix followed them.

  17. Sometimes, what seems to be a mistake turns out to be a blessing. As an undergrad in college, I had a choice between two courses. My advisor recommended one, but I chose the other. Two years later, when I got to grad school, I found out that I needed the course I didn't take, which forced me to spend four semesters getting my master's instead of three. Had I graduated in three semesters, I'd have gotten a job and moved away from my home town five months before the date on which I met this really cool chick. She's now my wife. I don't know what would have happened if I had gone down the other path, but I can't imagine I'd be in a better situation than I'm in now. For the Bills, Rex was the course they shouldn't have taken. It set us back a couple of years, but at this point, I can't imagine it turning out better than it has so far.
