  1. I suppose it's possible, but I'd believe it more if it came from a reliable source. I also think the "Ralph was cheap" mantra is overblown. Unlike the owners who were uber-wealthy before buying their respective teams, most of Ralph's fortune was the team itself. He couldn't simply "drill another well" in order to pay top dollar for personnel.
  2. I don't think of OJ as a reliable source.
  3. Nice! I hope you don't mind, but I'll share some that I recently recorded too ... also against my better judgement. I didn't start playing guitar until my mid-40s, which is a bad time to develop fine motor skills. I find rhythm guitar to be much more forgiving than lead, so that's what I do. These are three of the more difficult songs that I can sort of play. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FENzcimlzjs&list=PLHxhswzl1jOzVmQpoa_xo6D-IEqIRrFJs
  4. Every serious football fan knows Roman numerals - that's how we know which Super Bowl we're talking about.
  5. I ran down to the levee But the Devil caught me there He took my twenty dollar bill And he vanished in the air
  6. God save the child that rings that bell It may have one good ring, baby, you can't tell One watch by night, one watch by day If you get confused, listen to the music play
  7. Ditto. I'm okay in tall buildings, and even flying (more or less), but I definitely won't be the guy who dies from taking a selfie at the edge of the Grand Canyon. Even watching movie scenes where someone is precariously positioned at a height, I get a weird tingling sensation in my feet.
  8. I'm not sure this belongs in TIL, since I kinda suspected it before, but ...

  13. A month before leaving Western NY for a career change, my wife and I saw this show. It's been available on DVD for many years and now the band has put it on YouTube for free.

  17. A mere six months??? That's not a dry spell, that's a drought.
  18. The Quadrophenia tour of '96/'97 included the best Who shows I've ever seen. (I saw them in '82, twice in '89, '96, '97, 2000, 2002, 2015, and twice in 2019.) On the 2019 tour, they did a lot from Tommy and Quadrophenia, complete with a symphony orchestra. The conductor, first violinist, and first cellist toured with the band. The rest of the orchestra was made up of orchestra members from whatever city they were playing in. The musicians would get the sheet music in advance, practice it on their own, and the day of the show they did a short rehearsal with the touring band. Both shows were outstanding, and Pete was very complimentary about the orchestra musicians being able to learn the music and play it flawlessly with only one complete rehearsal. Yeah, they weren't stripped down rock shows, but they really showed off what a great composer Townshend is. If I believed in reincarnation, I'd think he was Beethoven in a previous life.
  19. Thank you for not using an apostrophe to indicate plurality. (That's a pet peeve of mine, but I don't point it out when someone does it on social media, so technically I'm not a Grammar Nazi.)
  20. Well, I woke up Sunday morning With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad So I had one more for dessert
  21. That's good, because humans weren't made to play this game ... or so I heard somewhere.
