  1. Two years ago, on the 50th anniversary of the landing, my wife and I saw String Cheese Incident at Red Rocks. (I wore my NASA shirt, because I'm a science geek.) Near the end of the show, the band acknowledged the feat and played a sci-fi jam as their finale. I can't find a video of that show, but here's the same thing that they did on Halloween the year before: https://youtu.be/T_aq4Zb-AHQ?t=621
  2. "That's one small step for a man..." https://www.space.com/17307-neil-armstrong-one-small-step-quote.html
  3. You go back, Jack, do it again Wheels turnin' 'round and 'round
  4. I always thought Clair Huxtable (played by Phylicia Rashad, who was once married to former Bills receiver Amhad Rashad) was the ultimate MILF: strong, smart, and sexy. Her recent defense of Cosby throws a bucket of ice water onto that memory, unfortunately.
  5. "But officer, I swear that red Solo cup contained water just a few minutes ago!"
  6. I'd never heard of it until I found out about Summer Camp. (We live about 2 hours north-east of there.)
  7. Two years ago at the Summer Camp Music Festival in Chillicothe, IL, I saw a guy wearing a throwback Bills hat with the standing Buffalo. I gave him a "Go Bills" and he reciprocated, raising his beer.
  8. I'm going home And when I want to go home, I'm going mobile Well I'm gonna find a home on wheels, see how it feels, Goin' mobile Keep me moving
  9. I live in the Midwest, so it's unusual to see a Bills fan here. About fifteen years ago, I took an online class. In the initial "meet and greet" thread, the professor said she grew up in the Corning, NY area. Her dad and brothers were all Giants fans, but she adopted the Bills, so I gave her a "Go Bills!" About five years ago, I was marching in the local Labor Day parade and I saw a guy in the crowd wearing a Bills shirt. I yelled, "Go Bills!" and he gave me a thumbs up.
  10. I miss the Earth so much I miss my wife It's lonely out in space On such a timeless flight as this
  11. Ha! I looked it up because I wondered if he contributed to the Bucs at all. I was somewhat surprised that he had 25 touches. I agree with you - time to open the strawberry jam, because he's toast.
  12. I see a pretty steep drop-off over the past few years. Only 25 touches last season. I'm not sure there's enough in the tank to get him to the next gas station.
  13. Very cool! I read the story about her mother being an immigrant/refugee who pioneered the development of mRNA vaccines - I may have even posted it in the Covid thread - but I didn't realize her daughter was an Olympian.
  14. There comes a redeemer, and he slowly too fades away There follows a wagon behind him that's loaded with clay The seeds that were silent all burst into bloom and decay The night comes so quiet, it's close on the heels of the day
  15. No. We can blame people who put their "personal freedom" ("maskholes" and the like) over the well-being of society as a whole, as well as people who think that watching a couple of YouTube videos constitutes "doing your own research."
  16. I realized I was old when I recognized a student's last name ... because her dad was my student 20 years before.
  17. That's good to know. I was wondering why there wasn't some kind of safety lock-out mechanism to prevent unauthorized access. Apparently there's no need.
  18. When I awoke, the Dire Wolf, six hundred pounds of sin Was grinning at my window, all I said was, "Come on in."
  19. Also the origin of the slogan, "Have a Coke and a smile."
  20. Yeah - just a few days before. https://www.jambase.com/article/grateful-dead-returns-jerry-garcia-diabetic-coma-date-1986
  21. Go out yonder, peace in the valley Come downtown, have to rumble in the alley Oh, you don't know the shape I'm in
