New arena in Tempe - Bills should follow this model
WhoTom replied to CountDorkula's topic in Off the Wall
Three things: 1. Buffalo and Tempe are very different places. Can Buffalo support additional downtown shops, restaurants, and apartments? Is the infrastructure there to handle the extra traffic? 2. The Bills don't have a terrible following. 3. The proposed plan for a new stadium cites Orchard Park, not downtown. -

Brrr. Anyone else feel a stony chill in the room?

I've been drivin' all night, my hands wet on the wheel There's a voice in my head that drives my heel It's my baby callin', sayin', "I need you here" And it's a half past four and I'm shiftin' gear.

First Fitz and now Tyrod. It's a bad year to be a former Bills QB. Watch out, Nate!

Picking up Edmunds Option a Rare Beane Mistake
WhoTom replied to Billy Zabka's topic in The Stadium Wall
That was a mistake too, according to some people in the Game Ball thread. (Not me) -
I know the rules and the game, but I like a color commentator who explains the nuances that only an insider might know - that's the point of having an ex-player or ex-coach in that role. With that said, someone who can make me laugh is cool too. I always found Madden to be good blend of analyst and entertainer.

My point is that it probably wouldn't have worked against the more seasoned Rothlisberger. As for experience, Brisset has more years but fewer starts: 32, compared to Josh's 45. If the Fins had kept Fitz as their backup, the Bills probably still would have won, but Fitz would have handled the pressure better than Brisset did. We'd be celebrating a win, but not a shutout.

More. They always flag the guy who retaliates, not the one who initiates.
-
I noticed that too. I wouldn't have thrown a flag, but it wouldn't have surprised me if someone did. It also wouldn't surprise me if the exact same play with a certain older veteran QB who-shall-not-be-named drew a flag.

It was a great defensive game plan to run against a team with an inexperienced QB. Had they run that scheme last week, I doubt it would have been nearly as effective. Last week's defensive plan was good for the opponent - they held the Steelers offense to 16 points. That's the mark of a good coach: designing a different plan for each opponent. Seems like Frazier is doing exactly that.

A good point from a Dolphins fan (Fins message board)

Other than yesterday, the answer is in bold. Yesterday, it was because the Bills D confused the hell out of two inexperienced QBs. -
It was a clean hit; Matt Millen said so.

What happens if Tua Doesn’t Get Hurt?
WhoTom replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was more concerned with Brisset coming in, since the defensive game plan expected Tua. I'm not sure about the stats, but Brisset probably has more game experience than Tua and, obviously, more years in the league. When Tua went to the locker room, I flashed back to the "old Bills" vs. the Vikings. Our defense seemed to be handling Favre pretty well, but when Brett "crossed the Moats" and left the game injured, Tarvaris Jackson torched our D. -
Trubisky performing the final kneel-downs?
WhoTom replied to BoccesOnTransit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe a minor controversy among some fans, but certainly not in the locker room. Anyone who's watched Josh and Mitch over the past few years can clearly see who the better quarterback is, and it's not a close race. -
Trubisky performing the final kneel-downs?
WhoTom replied to BoccesOnTransit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I figured they left him in so he could gain some confidence. Maybe it worked - that long throw to Diggs could have been just what the doctor ordered. I could have lived without the designed QB runs, however. -
They should have called for a measurement on that last one.

Trubisky performing the final kneel-downs?
WhoTom replied to BoccesOnTransit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I seem to be in the minority on this, but I thought Trubisky should have come in after the score was 28-0. To your point, I agree - since they kept Josh in the game, he should have led the victory formation and taken the kneel-down snaps. Not because of the danger of a botched snap - at 35-0, who cares? - but because he earned it.
