  1. I think they prefer the term "alternative math."
  2. In three years, Josh has decimated so many prognostications about his performance that I'm not willing to rule out his ability to learn pretty much anything a QB needs to do.
  3. This is a song called "Alice's Restaurant." But "Alice's Restaurant" isn't the name of the restaurant, it's just the name of the song. So that's why I call the song "Alice's Restaurant."
  4. I should'a quit you, a long time ago I should'a quit you, baby, long time ago I should'a quit you, and went on to Mexico

  6. For all intensive purposes, sometimes you come off as a pre-Madonna.
  7. Before that, Batman on ice: http://www.puckreport.com/2009/05/today-in-nhl-history-buffalo-sabres-bat.html
  8. The way Trubisky played against his old team in the preseason was a showcase in itself, but I agree that more time with mop-up duty (and let's hope for a lot of that) will make him even more attractive. On top of that, he's working with a staff that turned Josh from a raw prospect to a top-five QB in just a few years. Mitch will get a number of offers after this season. He'll be able to choose the team that he thinks will give him the best chance to succeed.
  9. If McD wanted to run up the score, our second-string offense was poised to put up another TD on the last drive, so I tacked $7 onto the $43. 🙂
  10. Great summary, Virg. Regarding Edmunds, I agree that others are making the big plays around him, but I can't help but wonder if, based on the scheme and the role he's asked to play, he enables those big plays simply by doing his job well.
  11. Looked like McKenzie ran for it but then hesitated. I think he could have called for a fair catch, kept running, and made the catch at the 15-yard line.
  12. My mama loves me, she loves me She get down on her knees and hug me Like she loves me like a rock She rocks me like the rock of ages and loves me
  13. Agreed. The Jets and Giants play in a suburb of NYC, just like the Bills play in a suburb of Buffalo. In fact, Met Life is geographically closer to Manhattan than Highmark is to Buffalo. So it's across state lines - big deal. WFT plays in Maryland, not DC. Should we call them MFT?
  14. Josh breaks out of slump Maybe it's time to accept He just is that good
  15. At some point an announcer was praising Daboll for his masterful play calling, saying he mixed it up, kept the defense guessing, got Josh into a rhythm, etc. I was thinking the same thing during the game, and when he said it, my first thought was, "Yeah - where was that guy in Week 1?"
  16. I see your point, but last year a 7-9 WFT made the playoffs by winning a division that apparently nobody wanted to win. No doubt there were at least two teams who didn't make the playoffs but deserved it more than WFT did. Before, ~38% of the teams made the playoffs. Now it's ~44%. Not a huge difference. But I think we all know the reason isn't competition, it's money. They'll rake in a ton of TV revenue on the extra games.
  17. Well, you wake up in the mornin' You hear the work bell ring And they march you to the table You see the same old thing
  18. Makes sense, from a financial standpoint. A smaller footprint means less land to buy and lower building and maintenance costs, and those who can afford to pay the premium for tix and PSLs are willing to blow a C-note or more on beer and food.
  19. In the Covid era, it is assault. I would totally press charges.
  20. My in-laws were visiting that week. I hate watching games with my FIL because he's so negative, so whenever they're in town on a game day, my wife takes them on a day trip so I can watch the game in peace. By the time they got back, I was watching the late afternoon game. My wife saw the final score of the Bills game, did a double-take, and said, "Wow." I just smiled. I had a nice celebratory buzz at that point, too. 🙂 Dray-Flo's pick six was one high point, but I'll never forget Moorman jumping Lindell when he kicked the game-winning FG. I think I got down on my knees and bowed to the TV.
