  1. Put on your red dress, baby Ya know we're goin' out tonight
  2. Some of both. No doubt, the Bills are a really good team, but it's hard to deny the current ineptitude of the Phins, Footballers, and Texans, especially since we played their backup QBs. I still think the Bills would have the same record, even if all three had their starting QBs in the games, but the wins would have certainly been less lopsided.
  3. He's not always doing it to draw the D off-sides. Sometimes it's part of reading the defense - he does it to look for a "tell" in the D's movements.
  4. I think of play-by-play announcers like offensive linemen: if they're doing their jobs well, you don't notice them. In that respect, I wouldn't say I "enjoy" her; I'm more or less indifferent to her. She does the job as well as your average announcer who's not on a network's A-team. And frankly, I find her preferable to Joe Buck, and he IS on Fox's A-team.
  5. Well, since you didn't provide a link to the thread in question or give any concrete examples, I used the handy-dandy search function. https://www.twobillsdrive.com/community/search/?q=beth mowens&quick=1 I still see no concrete examples of HOW she is bad other than, "Her voice is grating."
  6. KC is wounded (a 2-2 record) and desperately in need of a win, especially against a team who's contending for the #1 seed. They'll be a formidable, and quite dangerous, opponent. Everyone at OBD knows this.
  7. "I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space." - JTK
  8. Beth does play-by-play, Romo is an analyst. They have different roles. All I want from the play-by-play announcer is accuracy: call the right player's name, give a little description of the action, etc. Beth handled that well enough, as anyone with a background in broadcasting and a knowledge of football should be able to do. The in-depth analysis comes from the analyst - someone who played or coached, and knows the nuances that most of us don't know. Tiki Barber is no Tony Romo in that regard, but he wasn't terrible either.
  9. I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go 'round and 'round I really love to watch them roll No longer riding on the merry-go-round I just had to let it go
  10. "They'll need it to get around this sign."
  11. So far in this thread, I haven't seen any solid, concrete examples of how she was bad. On the positive side, however, I've seen people point out that her play-by-play was accurate, she did her homework, etc.
  12. I thought she was okay. In the 4th she messed up and said "offense" when she meant "defense" but that's a simple mistake. Her play-by-play was solid and her knowledge of the game is respectable. Tiki Barber wasn't bad as an analyst, either, although, after Josh made a run and failed at a stiff-arm, Tiki said something like, "Josh was trying to get a stiffy going there. I never had much luck with that." Gotta give Beth credit for not giggling on that one.
  13. Pat was classic a nose tackle who didn't fit into Gregg's scheme. GW disassembled a perfectly good 3-4 defense that ranked in the top five, and replaced it with the 4-3 he ran in Tennessee, because they ranked better the previous year. Never mind that we didn't have the personnel to play a 4-3, it's the scheme that counts, right?
  14. I can't narrow it down to five, but in addition to some of the great ones already mentioned, I'll add: Oscar Madison Felix Unger Coach Ernie Pantusso (Cheers) Elaine Benes (I'd put Julia Louis Dreyfus in the same class as Lucy, Carol Burnett, & Mary Tyler Moore) Hank Hill
  15. Talk, talk, it's only talk Debates, discussions These are words with a D this time Dialog, duologue, diatribe Dissension, declamation Double talk, double talk
  16. I have a small group of friends from college that I stay in touch with, 36 years after graduating. Never stayed in contact with anyone from HS or earlier, though.
  17. He was, though ...
  18. You think the sun rises and sets for you But the same sun rises, sets and shines On the poor folks too
  19. Someone started a LinkedIn group for a topic that I write about. They sent out invitations to people with similar interests, and this was one guy's response:
  20. My point is that if he wants it his way, then he can pay for it himself. If he's asking for taxpayer help, then the taxpayers (via their elected representatives) have the right to set certain conditions.
  21. He can put it wherever he wants and have his own identity, simply by footing the bill without public funding.
  22. Sometimes we ride on your horses, sometimes we walk alone Sometimes the songs that we hear are just songs of our own
  23. No time to search the world around 'Cause you know where I'll be found When I come around
  24. I'm not watching it, but I hope this is the Pats* last win of the season.
  25. Lucky you didn't hire him. I wouldn't want a guy on my team who goes into an interview without having looked at a map to see where the place is, even if it's only to determine how far it is from train stops.
