I knew the phrase "cancel culture" would appear eventually. The phrase itself was coined by people who oppose gays, equal rights for women, immigrants, and any religion other than their own. Who is canceling whom? (Oh, and ... in before the lock.)

Offensive? There's a difference between not liking something and finding it offensive.

I don't really have a problem with "Chiefs" as a name, but the chop and chant are, in my opinion, racist. And while some Native Americans aren't offended by it, many are, and I don't feel like it's my place to tell them they should feel otherwise. My whole family are Cleveland Indians' fans, and a few years ago, my brother was complaining about people asking them to change their name. "It's just a name," he said. "What's the big deal?" I responded, "Then why is is such a big deal to you? Would baseball not be the same game if the team had a different name?" I don't know that convinced him then, but since they did change the name, he's been supportive of the move.

When one appropriates another race's culture and misinterprets its rituals to the point where many members of the race are offended, it's a pretty good sign that one thinks of that race as inferior.

They do the chop, but I think the chant may be a little different. Equally stupid, though.
-
In his rookie season, Daboll might have yelled at him for that play. By now, though, Josh has earned the right to pull that kind of move without worrying about what the coaches think. Vontae Davis turned off the TV at halftime.

Personally, I could live without the chant and the chop. They're both stupid.

During the off-season, we had three guys who could have left as free agents. Most of us (including me) thought we could sign one, maybe two if we were lucky. Beane said, "Hold my beer" and signed all three. If Levi is happy with his role and he likes where the team is headed, he may take less than what the open market will pay. Remember all those FAs who signed with NE because they wanted a ring, even though they could have made more somewhere else? Now that the Bills are serious contenders, we'll get quality players at a slight discount.

Now that the KC game is over, which game scares you?
WhoTom replied to Haplo848's topic in The Stadium Wall
None of them scare me, but clearly, our most formidable opponent will be the defending SB champs. -
Is Bing trying to give me a heart attack??? :)

What about the folks on the CompuServe BBS? -
Do we know for sure that they didn't make him an offer? I think it's possible that Leslie turned them down, or would have turned them down if they had made an offer. Sometimes, and I think we can all agree that Houston is one of those cases, it's better to pass on the first available opportunity and wait for the right opportunity.

He needs to stop throwing those passes that slip right through Tyreek Hill's hands when Micah Hyde is behind him.

10/10/21 Gameday SNF Bills @ Chiefs Postgame Thread
WhoTom replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Debbie Downer fans: "Big deal - we still haven't beaten a team with a winning record." -
There was a brief mention of that in the 4th quarter, but at least four or five discussions of the Chiefs being down two starters.

That time Josh Allen jumped over me in the parking lot

Forget table crashing. Josh should start a new trend: table hurdling. -
Every DC with KC on their schedule will be watching film of this game. Leslie put on a clinic on how to slow down the Chiefs' offense.

I'm not a huge marching band fan. but this was pretty impressive, both musically and visually.

When I say, "I love you," you say, "You better" (You better, you better, you bet) When I say, "I need you," you say, "You better" (You better, you better, you bet) You better bet your life Or love will cut you, cut you like a knife

It's good to have a cerebral QB.
