  1. I really want to see you Really want to be with you Really want to see you, Lord But it takes so long, my Lord
  2. Good point. It's like having a bumper sticker that says, "Bad cop. No doughnut." (Yes, they exist.) It might as well say, "Pull me over, Officer."
  3. Let me take you down 'Cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields Nothing is real And nothing to get hung about Strawberry Fields forever
  4. I'm floating in the blimp a lot I feel the feeling I forgot Swimming weightless in the womb Bouncing gently round the room In a minute I'll be free And we'll be splashing in the sea
  5. I agree. I wasn't excusing anything, I was simply giving an explanation. But you're right that injuries are a fact of the game. The "next man up" should step up or the players around him have to compensate. Clearly, neither of those things happened when it was crunch time in the close games. I think Beane focuses on the O-line this coming off-season.
  6. According to my spam folder, there are a whole bunch of checks in the mail.
  7. True, but the O-line is our weakest point, both in terms of starters and depth. Give us our two average starters in place of their below-average backups and we win 2-3 of those close ones, maybe even all of them.
  8. Covid not so much, but injuries on our O-line have most certainly contributed to the close losses.

  10. https://www.webmd.com/lung-cancer/guide/marijuana-lung-cancer-risk Note that it may vary with the smoking implement used. A waterpipe (bong) will filter out a lot of the bad stuff, while smoking a joint or a bowl has no filtration. And with legalization, we now have a great assortment of edibles, which many consumers are choosing over the smokables. Also from the article linked above: "Animal research suggests that some chemicals in marijuana work against tumor growth, which could explain why lung cancer isn’t showing up as often as scientists might expect in people who smoke it." Related to that, I read about a study done in the 70s or 80s. The researcher wanted to show a causal link between smoking cannabis and lung cancer. He made four groups: people who smoke cigarettes but not weed people who smoke weed but not cigarettes people who don't smoke at all people who smoke both weed and cigarettes. Much to his surprise, the lung cancer incidence rates were, in ascending order: people who don't smoke at all (lowest incidence rate, not surprising) people who smoke weed but not cigarettes (slightly higher than non-smokers, but not a lot) people who smoke both weed and cigarettes (considerably higher) people who smoke cigarettes but not weed (highest, by a lot) He concluded that weed may, in fact, have some sort of preventative effects when it comes to cancer. But because of its previous Schedule 1 classification, it was nearly impossible to run experimental studies on its chemistry. Maybe now such a study is possible. I've also seen preliminary studies suggesting that it may reduce the growth rate of pancreatic cancer.
  11. Four drunk people will start a fight. Four stoned people will start a band.
  12. Every time you watch a Bills game on TV, you're experiencing the same thing on a smaller scale. It takes time for the cameras to convert the light to electricity, time to convert that signal to radio waves (or digitize it), time for the waves to reach the satellite and back (or your antenna) or for the digital signal to stream and reach your modem/router, etc. So when you watch the Bills on TV in "real-time," there's a lag. In effect, you're seeing what happened a few seconds ago and, therefore, looking back in time.
  13. Well, all right, so I'm being foolish Well, all right, let people know About the dreams and wishes you wish In the night when the lights are low
  14. Every person who touts "free market" should agree with your post.
  15. He was a decent starter on an otherwise crappy team for 3-4 years, so it's not like he's a rookie or a career backup. And he has a similar playing style to Josh, so there's no need to completely revamp the offense around him. With that said, after the Jags game, I see nothing as a gimme this season. But if the rest of the team plays well, I don't see Mitch losing the Panthers game for us.
  16. They call me The Seeker I've been searching low and high I won't get to get what I'm after Till the day I die
  17. I don't know how they define it, but I'd say it's when either team benches its starting QB, not because of injury or performance.
  18. And I'll run in the rain till I'm breathless When I'm breathless I'll run 'til I drop, hey! And the thoughts of a fool's kind of careless I'm just a fool waiting on the wrong block, oh yeah
  19. When money is involved, there is no sanctity in anything. Profit overrules virtually everything else in society these days.
