    Either that or they're too impatient to take on a "project." I think Beane and McD planned for a somewhat long development period before he'd be a solid starter, based on their whole "long-term sustainability" philosophy. I'm guessing most people, including people who believed in him, were surprised at how quickly he progressed.

    WYO was a frequent poster (and mod) on the BBMB - and she was very good at both, BTW. Maybe a year or two before they shut it down, she stopped going there, due to the increased incivility that was pervading the boards. I can't blame her. Glad to see she's still writing about the Bills, though.

    If I recall correctly, the Jags pulled off at least one upset this year. No doubt, the Covid-related absences diminish the chance of them pulling off another one next week, but any given Sunday ...

    Kinda like NE under Belichick. That great Bears defense won a single Super Bowl; same for the Ravens. (I know the Ravens won another, but that was years later.) BB's defenses are designed to be sustainable and scheme-based, so you don't have to rely on star players, just good players who do their jobs.

    At one point, Josh threw one away. The announcer said he "tossed it," and he was right. The thing is, the ball went about 40 yards in the air on that nonchalant "toss."

    In a post-game presser, Mackenzie said that he had watched film on how the Pats* covered Beasley in the previous game, so he knew how to play against that. He said they covered him exactly like they covered Beas, so his adjustments were right. He also said that Beas and Gabe sent him clips from that game and gave him advice.

    I don't like to judge after one game, but if he does the same in the next two games, he may have sealed his spot as Beasley's replacement next year.
