Here by the sea and sand
Nothing ever goes as planned
I just couldn't face going home
It was just a drag on my own
They finally threw me out
My mom got drunk on stout
My dad couldn't stand on two feet
As he lectured about morality
Come on, it's such a joy, come on, it's such a joy
Come on, let's take it easy, come on let's take it easy
Take it easy
Take it easy
Everybody's got something to hide
Except for me and my monkey

Spending my bread like it grew on a tree
You're trying to tell me 'bout the birds and the bees
The skirt that you're wearing is way past your knees
Either light up or leave me alone

When I was a boy, I had the mind of a boy
But now I'm a man, ain't got no mind at all
When I was in my teens, I had my share of dreams
But now I'm a man, ain't got no dreams at all.
