Am I the only one sick of the DAK
corta765 replied to Behindenemylines's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is not so much Dak but in general the media's lover affair with certain teams, players, topics etc... on things that really don't matter. Back in the 90s when contracts were smaller yea I was the slightest of interested to see where things went, but these days its all one big show. I get it with no sports any sports topic that they can find is something but its to the point of just being mind numbing. If Dak was guaranteed to be a FA after this season yea this would be a big deal, but Dallas can franchise him at least one more time. -
So Jets didn’t bother me a ton until college. Went to Oswego and met their NYC fans and ever since then I have hated the Jets. This was also when they got Farve then Sanchez and we’re decent and they wouldn’t stop running their mouths. That said I like Darnold and him vs Allen for a decade plus will be cool if all goes well

33% of the season ticket base is from Rochester. It wasn’t just a gimic and without regionalizing the team they would’ve moved. also something everyone is forgetting with the whole “move them back to Buffalo for good” idea is how training camp is the last free thing fans can see where you can get within feet of your favorite players. For fans who can’t afford to take their family this gives them an experience that their kids and themselves can enjoy. The NFL monetizes everything training camp is the one nice thing that isn’t

Hi everyone I work at SJFC so I can fill in some things that I’m allowed to say. First Thad Brown who is a broadcaster here in Rochester says the Bills plan on Fisher despite the report and the plan is still Roc. You are correct we have had to furlough staff so the campus is wide open. But August 1st we are expecting everyone is at least back to work full time. The expectation as communicated to us is Bills camp is the NFL/Bills decision we won’t say nay. Cuomo opening back up camps and hopefully are campus phase 4 at the end of June is a good sign regardless of camp or not. Personally as much as I want the Bills on campus because it’s a blast as a fan and worker there, our priority is just that we get our students back. If that in anyway is slowed by the Bills there then I don’t see them there. On a more fun note the campus really is pretty open and I have seen plenty of players, I literally ran into Mitch Morse on a jog around campus. It’s really cool and it’ll kill me to lose it for the year because long term I think it isn’t staying but I want our students back.

agreed. My buddy is a Dallas fan and 1pm games are a treat because Of the national exposure. I think one of the worst parts of the drought is it fostered a segment of fans who its all tailgating and partying at 1pm every week. Team success eh they just care about their party and it shows when stadium talk pops up. honestly you could play the bills on the moon at 3 am and I’d watch. I just want them to win. If you get good you get exposure and that means non 1 pm games. For me there fun I get if you don’t care for them but the active outrage is insane

Maybe. Spring is filled with hope and predictions of super teams, the Eagles of 2011 are a big example. I don't disagree that the NFC West has some sizable talent, but ARZ has to still put it together with Murray taking the next step and the Rams need to show they weren't a two year wonder. SF still looks great but they'll come back a little bit due to schedule. Seahawks actually scare me the most because of Wilson and how long they've been good.

The COVID crisis kinda killed my ability to predict. I did a post back in March but I’ve been working from home and truthfully haven’t been on the way I like. I appreciate the kind remarks. this was my latest mock schedule Great point. People forget 1pm games are preferred by teams because it keeps a routine and are the best to prepare for. Coaches don’t want a ton of night games despite how fun they are because it throws off the plans for the week. I’d prefer if they danced in front of me like the halftime show

This year the Bills Chiefs game is this years version of the game that has to be at night because bills fans really want it to be. I don’t disagree with the fact the Bills Chiefs would be a great matchup and at night be a really special thing as a fan. Unfortunately I will be very surprised if that happens at this point for three reasons. 1. The Chiefs being Super Bowl champions means every opponent the Chiefs play on the road see this is as their marquee game for the year. The Super Bowl champion always is a lucrative team for opponents hosting them and the Chiefs have a very appealing team nationally. A down team like Miami hosts KC and this would be an opportune matchup especially with Tua. Buffalo will be in fierce competition to land the game which brings me to point two... 2. KC is on the road against the Ravens, Saints, and Buccaneers. TV crews will absolutely prioritize those games ahead of Buffalo and in division Denver has a rising team while the Raiders are opening a new stadium and what a way to do it. Buffalo isn’t just competing against 7 other teams for KC at night there facing two of the NFLs bluebloods in terms of TV attention (BAL & NOLA) and a TB team with Brady which is now the most sought after team for TV after KC. 3. Sal C from WGR had Mike North from the NFL who handles the schedule who was really interesting in regards to how the schedule is made. One of the important things he noted is that while everyone wants a home game against their top opponent at night they have to balance that teams needs and what’s fair to them. Figure KC is getting 2-3 homes games and if they go to NOLA and TB at night, is it really fair to KC to force them at night for a 5th or 6th night game that’s on the road? The Patriots did play three on the road but one was in division vs the Jets, another was a quick flight to Baltimore with only the HOU game being a longer road trip. Overall I just dont see it at this point. I’d love it and. Buffalo certainly has a good case with the playoffs two of the last three years, a great defense, and some rising young players. But after looking into this deeper a 4:25 spot would be nice at this point.

Yes and no depends on travel and what teams prefer. Packers Eagles played last year. The guy in charge of the schedule said they try to honor requests like if you want to play back to back west coast they’ll do it, but don’t get made if it isn’t 100% what you want. Every team wants to be home at night but you need to have opponents

Hello everyone it’s been quite a bit since I posted but now that I’ve been working from home I have more distractions from my computer haha Anyhoo with the schedule postponed until Thursday and delayed in general it made it tough to post about it. There has not been a schedule with more uncertainty then this one which makes all prior beliefs and predictions incredibly tough. There has been some really really good posts by many and Yolos topic is awesome currently. Before I get to my piece just a quick insider tip about training camp. I have a very tight source to Fisher where training camp is and at this point things are expected as normal. If it is cancelled/moved it is because of the NFL/Bills decision to do so nothing more. Now schedule wise going with the fact that nothing is normal expect the unexpected. Is it possible the first four games are NFC? Absolutely. Is it possible the first six games are all NFC and two non division meaning the first division game isn’t until week 7? Yes. While I believe the NFL is hell bent on 16 games they will set it up in way to maximize to their liking so if they need to go to a 12 or 14 game schedule they protect the division piece. With that said I expect more flex games then ever this year with the 7th wildcard. A lot of people including myself saw the Bills with 3-4 night games in stone, but at this point I think it’s two night games and ability for the NFL to move the last 2-3 weeks worth of games to night. With the NFL already facing reduced revenues due to Corona and the uncertainty of full stadiums you will probably see them go to their favorite big markets teams a bit more given the ratings guarantee. That’s no slight at Buffalo we will get our games, but expect NE NYJ to get equal or more for no reason other then it’s more money. Additionally with no international games it means more teams competing for primetime. Primetime games to mean are any evening games and the 4pm national slots. My final predictions for national games are as follows: @ARZ TNF LAR SNF @SF 4:25 nationally KC 4:25 nationally Flex Games: at NYJ Saturday NE home Sunday final week

So with the NFL allowing gamepass for free I am watching every Bills game from 2010 to present I could've started in 2009 but I didn't have the heart and I wanted the full decade. So far I am five games in and the Bills are leading the Jags 13-6 as I speak (they will lose 36-28). Here are some fun observations a decade later between both teams, the stadium, the NFL etc.. : · The Bills were bad but they just also feel sooo irrevelant in every way. The stadium looks bland, the ownership is a question mark, there are no real players of young exciting name value outside of Kyle Williams and Jarius Byrd. They feel like a rudderless team trying to re-establish themselves and they play that way also. They feel like a franchise that’s a decade behind. I am soo happy this is no longer the case. · The uniforms yikes! I have thought at times when I see the dark blue jerseys on fans “oh they weren’t that bad” and then I watch this.. yes they were that bad. I get why they made the change but they couldn’t have done worse other than changing the colors from blue and red in general. · The stadium presentation is so much better now compared to then. The fans are louder which is noticeable, but the renovations did do a good job to make the stadium look better on film. The overall in stadium environment just feels so much improved. Also noticed fans did not stand as often in the lower bowl. Perhaps it was just because the team stunk, but I do believe that has changed · Some of the starters on the team are just downright hilarious. Reggie Torbor? He’s there! Jeff Hangartner? He’s your starting center over Eric Wood whose at guard. Hope you like Jonathan Stupar at TE because he is there. Roscoe Parrish either drops the ball or catches the ball and runs to the wrong area. · The defense was soo bad. Any time a 3rd down or big stop was needed just pencil in a TD haha. I appreciate that for a few years now you can at least depend that 50% of the time will get a stop. The lack of talent just is soo noticeable but even the execution is pathetic. I remember a decent debate about Paul Pouzlousny leaving and whether we should’ve paid him. Watching it back I can’t believe that conversation happened. Credit to McBeane for the work and comptenecy they have brought to the team, but I will even credit Whaley a bit for at least bringing a talent expectation back. There was nothing with Nix and crew. · Someday I will get the full explanation for why when we had Fred Jackson and Lynch we drafted Spiller. For the record CJ shows her bursts of talent and I wish had a longer career, but such a dumb decision. · The lack of flags and referee focused calls is refreshing and I miss. You don’t have nearly the reviews or controversy the game just flows. I really do think the additional rules are the problem watching this back. · The Jills are there… I truthfully could care less there gone · Following up with that players really could hit each other still. The rules weren’t in place the way they are now and guys still lit each other up fairly regularly. Safety is good and I do not want to say the NFL today is soft, but it is noticeable how the game has changed. You can see how much faster players are which may also play a role in less hitting. · CBS really I mean really was hyped for Hawaii 5.0. · Peyton Manning was with the Colts doing his thing which was a cool throwback · Kyle Orton was with the Broncos…also doing whatever his thing was · This was Vick’s return season with the Eagles and man their Kelly green unis need to come back · Watching Gronk as just a rookie and knowing what he would become was weird, cool, and sucked all at once. Watching Aaron Hernandez was just straight creepy knowing what he would do. · The CBS broadcast during the Pats Bills week 3 game talks about how each decade an AFC East team had taken the division for themselves Dolphins 80s, Bills 90s, Pats 2000s and asks if the Pats can keep it going or if the up and coming Jets would take them down or someone else. Can I just say how much it blows that NE really has gone two straight decades without a divisional challenger. I hope we beat them 200-0 both games this year. - Speaking of Gus Johnson in the booth is soo missed he was awesome · Lady Gaga was the jam at the stadium · For those Rochester folk like myself Paetec had a big sign right behind the one endzone. Crazy how they went from being a big deal to nothing now. · The Browns are starting Seneca Wallace at QB. I generally just feel bad for their fans. We had our drought but at least we finally have had some good years and in general since 2014 the Bills have been .500 or better most years. That franchise needs some luck. · Carson Palmer is the Bengals QB in his last year. Crazy to think most thought he was nearly washed up and yet would revive his career in Arizona. · Aaron Rodgers is not the guy he is now.. and Brett Farves shadow still looms large. Funny how time passes and players become legends and other guys take their place. Rodgers now is the old guy

I have hard time saying I blame Ralph. Buffalo swung and miss but it seems that at the time the move made sense and was of fair value. If it is true also that the Lamonica had an affair or they had concerns on his medical health then it makes even more sense. Unfortunately with trades sometimes they work great, sometimes they are equal, and sometimes they are a disaster. Buffalo missed with Darryl but we hit homeruns with Bennett, McCoy, and Jerry Hughes to a lesser extent.

Can't emphasize enough how much this will impact the Ravens. He was a stabilizing force and when those go on O-line it takes a bit to get things back together. Buffalo lucked out that Dawkins has emerged as such a leader and quality player after Eric Wood left. Ravens will still be a very very good team but this will make their road a bit tougher.

81-90 He has established a winning RESPECT culture that now has players wanting to come here with expectations. He's had some misses with players but he is responsible with so much of the good and drafted quite well. I can't go past 90 until the division is won and playoff games are won.

Oh it will be joyous, just after 20 years of this you get use to seeing them in there lol

That's a good point I have read that the big date is March 18th on whether he returns to NE or not. That would be a little less then a month and I am sure given that they have thousands of schedules they make they have some set depending on where he goes. At the same token they generally already have more of it done because you don't have that uncertainty. If he does leave it will be weird to see NE get less primetime games then normal.

The Bills sign Jadevon Clowney to replace Shaq

Don't disagree. But Patriots had 5x night games plus 5x 4:00pm games last year. KC will probably have similar and I think the Bills game could be at least a 4:00pm matchup, but KC hosts at home Texans, Patriots, Chargers, & Raiders. Brady is going to at least one of those three which will be a night game. On the road they go to Ravens, Saints, Bills. The real question is where Buffalo rates against those teams plus Falcons & Panthers. There is a shot but the Bills are notorious about trying to keep as many games as possible 1:00 pm for traveling NYS fans. If Brady goes in division those games will become primetime quickly. Also I guess 2014 still hangs on me where I and every other Bills game swore we were getting Bills Packers on MNF only for it to be confirmed wrong. I know its different and I believe they will get more night games and press, but I am still skeptical we'd get KC at home because we are still small market and they'd want em for a bigger market.
