Fans complaining or getting upset because of a horrendous game isnt being a fair weather fan. If anything it just shows their upset because they care about the team. Fair weather fans are the people who only care when they win and the moment things swing they are no where to be found. Now we certainly have a lot of emotional eccentric fans who the attitudes swing week by week, but that is ok and given the drought years and trauma from that I get it. I have freely admitted when I have been wrong i.e Rosen over Allen, the Bills getting Diggs, I am sure I will be wrong about wanting Frazier fired to shake things up and reframe the defense. But that is part of being a fan and I will at least credit the people who are pissed even ifs it irrational for giving a crap then those who won't even be found or only care to be around when things are good. I am trying my best to keep in mind Allen has looked really good and even though last night he wasn't as good, he is a huge bright spot and can get the team to the playoffs. The defense scares me because its gotten to a point if the offense makes mistake against a quality opponent like the Titans or even the Rams shouldn't have been INT, we have very little rope to give. This years schedule offers very little room for mistake if you want a good seed for the playoffs and division title. Heck even the playoffs are very competitive with the Browns, Colts, Raiders, and even Chargers looking very competitive for the final spots. Nothing will come easy like last year and thats ok, I just hope that they give Allen and the offense the ability to be mortal at points without it costing us games.

The defense is most different when Milano is out I don't disagree. With him and White back the pass defense should be somewhat better. But the defensive line is bad and Star/Shaq/Jordan gone is really showing how much they miss them. That is something which maybe they are able to bandaid but needs major work come offseason.

Agreed. I am really upset with the defense but reasonably if the offense is humming 4 good games out of 5 at a time and the defense can literally force a few punts each game they are a 10-11 wins. The upsetting piece I guess is if the defense could just be middle of the road they could win 12-13 games, but the issues they have don't seem the type that are super fixable in season.

Star was a space eater and Phillips was excellent at the push up front. Beane gambled that he could let Phillips & Lawson go and find subtitle replacements which is failing spectacularly and killing the D. Beane did get Phillips off the free agent wire so I believe he can find guys, but I am not sure why they are waiting so long. They really need a big guy in the middle.

He’s done too much for me not to buy some growth. Even tonight I hated the INT but if the Bills D makes a stop before half or doesn’t allow a TD there it’s 24-10 and you still have a shot. He basically is being forced to play perfect which is very tough even if he has improved. But I agree key is whether he stays calm or goes back to hero ball now that the pressure is there.

Yep. Not all losses are the same. This loss was a warning lights big time on the dash type loss. Basically showed if Allen isn’t perfect they can’t win and any mistake cost them dearly. I’m actually not super down on Josh as much as the rest of the team to not pick themselves up especially the D. Turnovers happen how you respond matters. We responded by allowing TD after TD

In terms of who is the best. Buffalo got exposed and I wouldn’t bet the Bills to beat any of those teams. Once the Bills lose to KC next week they’ll be back down conference tie breaker wise

He will get it together I think the contract may be in his head a little and he is pressing too much when he’s been out.

I get regression that’s to be expected especially on defense but they are one of the top 5 worst units. That’s a lot more then just being a middling unit and it’s killing the team.

Enough of enough with the defense. I get injuries happen and they were playing short handed. But the overall scope of this season the defense has been an embarrassment and a shell of last year. They look lost regularly, unprepared, and their situational football is atrocious. The amount of 3rd and longs all season that keep being converted is unreal. Right now the Bills are behind KC TEN BAL NE PIT in terms of ranking in conference. All of those teams have defenses that will do better and unless Allen and the offense is literally perfect game in game out we’re toast against the big boys. Fire Frazier let McD take back play calling and send a firm message to the defense this isn’t good enough. I truly don’t believe anything else will send a strong enough message they don’t have the leaders like Zo or Kyle to get these guys in line.

37-17 Bills Buffalo has had plenty of time to practice, heal, and prepare. Titans have had two days and about a million distractions and will be missing guys. People keep saying Titans may use this as motivation but I think Buffalo actually will more.

No way the amount of money gone would be really bad. From what I have read from NFL reporters media etc.. the league does not want to move the season back a week if they can help it.

Which is pathetic and a major problem. If its just fines what stops Cam from practicing ahead of schedule? COVID is no joke and can wreck the year for the NFL which the Titans already have risked.

Problem with this is every other team has lost guys to COVID and dealt with it without breaking the rules. The Titans getting that light of penalties only incentives others to try. Anything less then scorched earth in penalties invites others to try.

I am too. They broke rules designed to protect health and keep the games possible. Now two teams have had their schedules wrecked because people couldnt follow the rules and unless a forfeit comes out for both games it will give both BUF and PIT competitive disadvantages. Additionally the rest of the league even NE for gosh sakes has managed to follow the rules. Only fair solution is force both games as forfeit, take away the Titans entire draft picks for 2021, and suspend Tannehill and any other players that broke the rules for four games. It might tank their season and have adverse consequences but given the circumstances this needs to be so harsh no team or player considers doing this or breaking policy again this year.

Nola is not what they were. Brees has already slowed down to the point its very noticeable and the Saints while talented are not the team they have been. If the Bills played Nola right now on a neutral field I would have zero issue picking them. Yep we rotate the divisions every 3 years and we are already back to AFC South. Our home schedule for 2021 is already IND, HOU, CAR, ATL, NYJ, NE, MIA and we just wait whoever we host from the AFC N. Its early but they should be 7-1 at worst given the way the offense is now.

Watching the Vegas game yesterday and with Nashville hopefully this week I couldn't help think how this season for the fanbase was such a great year to go to an away game with some really great locations. Well 2021-22 is nice make-up as the Bills are in the following cities already: Tampa, FL New Orleans, LA Nashville, TN Miami, FL (as always) It's not Vegas but still pretty good and warm weather spots. Plus the Bills will be on the road again next year against the AFC West for the cross conference game which means either we go to KC which is cool, Vegas, Denver, or LA. All of the locations are pretty good for different reason. Now back to 2020-21 season Go Bills!

So I was not a Josh Allen fan and while he was a physical freak, by traditional numbers used to judge a QB he fell well short and his play against big opponents was not good. Typically with guys from smaller or unknown places you can see the reasons for the pick i.e Big Ben or Carson Wentz, Allen just struck me as a guy who physically was gifted but lacked the actual traits to do it. These were the general concerns that those analysts who were anti Allen had and why they didn't buy it. If I am not mistaken only Matt Stafford has succeed in some fashion despite in a college a completion % that was sub 60%. So when you know that picking a QB in the 1st round is less then a 50% success rate as is, adding in the rest of that to the puzzle seemed like a really bad idea. But I will say after we drafted him I read things saying that Allen's accuracy issues were overblown and his issues was not so much placing passes in the right area the way EJ struggled, but if he threw 5 passes three would be dead on, one would be iffy, and one would be wayy off. That matters a lot to me and changed my mind and once he got going in 2018 you could see that as the case. Now that didn't guarantee Josh would succeed and he deserves enormous credit for working his butt off to improve and the Bills do for bringing a QB along about as well as you could. But if you actually dove into the numbers accuracy wise it was overblown a bunch from the quality of the talent on his team to the fact he didn't get many easy check down throws.

Star yes given his space on gaps. In general I just think its more familiarity as a unit and geling. The team did say the Rams pace got to them which is part of the Rams scheme success.

That's like saying the fire department did a good job because they stop the fire for 2 hrs before it burnt down my garage, shed, and porch. You still got burnt in a bad way. Had the defense made a stop we are not relying on the offense to bail them out. Second even with Allen balling out we will get burnt if the defense keeps allowing plays against it like a sieve. It may not result in missing the playoffs but its the type of thing that makes you lose a division or the #1 seed etc.. which really matters. As I said I am concerned, but also illustrated a few things that I expect to be corrected and McD has proven that his teams rebound after downers. Go back a game earlier did you think Miami would've made it 31-28 and if they got the ball then did you trust the D? I agree with you I was terrified if we scored too quickly the Rams responded. Like I am concerned but I think it will figure itself out I just hope not costing us a loss against a team like KC which may swing the whole playoff picture (god that felt good to type after so many drought years).

Good point its why I wonder/believe that the lack of preseason gave offenses a major advantage to start the season. Defenses just do not looked gelled across the board.

Well the Bills did it again... they manage to take another year off my life and make my blood pressure do bad things but they won haha. For real it was a wild crazy out of control chaotic day but 3-0 is 3-0 and our QB is balling and the offense is fun. But the defense.. eh . Heading into this season I kinda thought offenses in general for once would have a leg up on defenses. In general the NFL is known for the top offenses starting up quick early in the season and then things balance by mid season. But this year is really different with 10 of the teams that won this week having 30 or more points and only five teams scoring under 20 pts with Giants Jags Jets & Broncos being 4 of the 5 teams which should be no surprise to low scoring. Teams with defined homefield advantages like Buffalo, Seattle, KC, & NOLA have little to no fans giving offenses which otherwise would have issue communicating and have false start issues a much easier day. So league wide its a year which early on offenses across the board seem to be having some legitimate perks and defenses all over are struggling. That brings us to the Bills defense which outside of quarter 1 against the Jets has been very EH to yikes Uh Oh this week against the Rams. While I do believe Buffalo's defense will round into shape, concern is warranted at this point and we may be looking at more of a top 15 group instead of top 5. The defense which usually looks very crisp and in control has never seemed in synch this season and even the Jets game it seemed more talent beating a badly talented Jets team then the unit performing as one. Since McD has taken over generally the defense has shined and the success is the unit functioning as one. I have not seen that this year and here are my reasons why: No preseason really hurt the Bills D which saw the D line lose Shaq, Phillips, & Star guys who have started for the last 2 seasons for them. I believe with four preseason games it would ironed out the issues we currently see With Lorenzo retiring the defense seems to be not rudderless but redefining who drives it leadership wise. Edmunds is that guy, but injuries are without a doubt limiting him. I don't doubt the impact of a Kyle W or Zo to bringing the guys up when things are tight The defense has went from being use to the offense churning the clock keeping them off the field to an offense which is scoring and at points quickly. Another area I think they will adjust and fix it just is different compared to 3 years of playing ball control meaning your on the field more The defensive line in general is transitioning with a lot of new faces. Mario Addison has been very good in my opinion, but the rest its a mix bag that needs to find their way which includes Harry who is playing his first real football in a year The last two weeks they played two offensive minds that excel during the start of the season at finding your weaknesses and showing exotic packages. Chan Gailey is historically very good at finding advantages early on and McVay is a wunderkid offensively. As the season goes and the offenses put more on tape the defense will not be caught off guard as much but they did take on two really good minds. They will face more smart minds coming up (Reid & BB) but especially early on that is a test which doesn't favor us. With all that said the CB2 spot looks really shaky, Micah Hyde has looked awful this year allowing plays he usually breaks up, and for the second straight week I had zero confidence in our D come the 4th quarter. The Dolphins game I was concerned that after Allen and crew got the Bills up 31-21 the Bills D again allowed a TD to let it be too close. I get allowing yards in prevent D, but this unit for the last 3 years was lights out once teams crossed midfield. They are just not in synch and in the flow we usually expect. So yea I am concerned at this point but I do have faith they will get it together. The Raiders have a good ground game, but they don't have the minds in offense compared to the last two weeks. You know the defense which is extremely prideful of its play will have an axe to grind this week and as they get healthier at LB and CB it should help. McD has done a nice job refocusing the defense any time it has struggled and I do not doubt they stop being a sieve. I do worry that they may not have the horses to be shutdown the way they have as Star's presence to eat space is missed and their is credence to their numbers being slightly inflated given the opponents last year. At the same time the defense last year shut down Lamar Jackson enough that teams copied what Buffalo did so it should hopefully comeback. Quick Allen Note: As a fan who lived the drought in its entirety I still get nervous with our QB for no reason other then two decades of poor QB play and failure. Watching Allen play and succeed is really rewarding for just the simple fact you can't count him out and his physical ability to do anything is wild.
