  1. So unlike Virigl I do not do these weekly as its wayyy tooo much work and more realistically I only comment or start a post if I feel I have something to say that has not been said. So here is where my thoughts were after the game: 1. Far too many people oversold the Bills being fired up after the bye and the loss to TEN and undersold the Phins being competitive. A lot of people said "well after the Cardinals loss the Bills went on fire so they can do so again". Few things wrong with that, 1. they beat the Chargers 27-17 in a pretty up and down performance (it wasn't a blow out), 2. Last year has zero bearing on this season, sports are not linear. 3. The guys are human, to think that after a loss like the Titans the team might not be a little down is just foolish. The Cardinals loss was a fluke play in a good game they had won, the Titans was a playoff type battle and you could see how emotionally spent both teams were by the end. Whoever lost that was not gonna walk away feeling good. With all of that said on a relatively bad day they walked away 26-11 winners so that's pretty cool. 2. Brian DaBoll is a very good offensive coordinator and paramount to Allen's development. I think this has also been his worst year as OC which is less a criticism and more a growth of expectations. This game reminded me of the Steelers game where I just sat watching the play calls yelling "what are you doing". I get that we rolled Miami on the ground last game, but you could see by the early 2nd quarter it wasn't happening. Like the Steelers game Cole Beasley was wide open all the dang time, thankfully this time the Bills got him involved much sooner. I have no qualms with DaBoll as an OC I am happy he is our guy, but whether it was to not show as much on tape, try and run on Miami, the offensive line being a different combo, etc.. I really hated his game plan until he let Josh loose in the second half. It is weird to say the offense has not played its best game yet, but truthfully the talent and Allen is carrying the day this season more then game plan (outside of KC that was a great gameplan). 3. The defense had a nice comeback game after the Titans and Edmudns/Milano as a combo were dynamite. The Titans game they both were over pursuing and out of position which cost the Bills dearly. This game outside of a play here or there they really frustrated Tua and the Phins all game. Tre White is going to explode soon for a stretch of games with a few INTs, he was superb and he has been more noticeable the last few weeks. The penalties not called were crap especially on Gesieckis 40 yard reception when I believe Hughes got his helmet knock off and held with no call. The defensive line had a nice game and Ed Oliver is having a good season in my eyes and making an impact week in week out. They really really could use an impact DE though. That to me is the missing piece on this defense is a guy off the edge who is a Terror. Sadly they don't grow on trees. 4. If you were at the game how was the weather? The broadcast kept talking about the wind, but I just looked a like a normal damp Sunday Bills game in Fall. 5. As a non-bias fan Tua just looks average overall and at this point I do not blame the Dolphins from moving on. I get the prior two weeks he had the Dolphins in position to win and had they the Phins would've came in at 3-4, but what do he excel at? A few of the third down stops the Bills had he just straight up missed guys with his passes. I do not think the Phins have handled him well in terms of bringing him along and working to his strengths. But I also am not sure he really has a strength that allows him to dominate in any fashion. The broadcast earlier on decided to compare Tua's first 16 starts vs Allen and Tua's numbers were non-surprisingly better. The problem with this to me is there was no context to any of it. Allen had zero weapons until 2019 whereas Tua at least has some talent at WR. Additionally while Allen had growing pains, some of the throws and plays he made you said no one else outside of maybe Mahomes or Rodgers would do. With Tua I cannot recall a play he has had in his first 16 where I said "ok this could be a problem". Hopefully the Phins keep him as its been great for the Bills, but if I were a Phins fan I get wanting to move on at this point. 6. Diggs has been good this season even if the numbers are not equal to last year. One of the things I appreciate about great players is the ability to impact the game even if it is in a singular moment. The TD pass to get the Bills a 17-3 lead is proof of that. It was single coverage and the Dolphins brought the house forcing a quick throw. The chemistry of Allen and Diggs showed there as he beat his man cleanly to get the TD. It was the type of play though were your guy just being better makes all the difference and I appreciate that with him. Also even though his production is "down" he is on pace for for 1150 yards, 7 TDs, and 96 recs. I think we are all good with that. 7. The four pack of Phins, Jags, Jets, & Colts is a greatttt opportunity for the Bills to pick up needed conference wins. One down three to go. If you can sweep that group your AFC conference record would be 7-2. That would help to atone for the Titans loss in terms of tiebreaker. The Colts are probably the scariest team of that bunch as they are playing much better football, but the Jets to me are the wildcard of the group. Zach Wilson has been all over the place as QB while White has been competent to good. Their defense has played well at times and with rookie head coaches you never know what they can do good or bad. Teams like the Jets scare me because its such a wild mixed bag and not predictable whereas the Dolphins you knew what you were working with. The Jets are bad, but what performance comes with that is a major ? . 8. So I love the fact McD is aggressive and willing to go for it on 4th down. Love it! He has been with the statistics in the situations to do so. With that said he and DaBoll need to sit with Josh and they need to as a group identify there best plays for success. They were a very good team last year on 4th down and while they have converted some this year, the misses have been really bad from the PIT game, Titan game, to even yesterday. Whether it is the play call/type or Josh forcing a bad throw/reading the play wrong or taking a penalty etc.. they have been far from crisp on these plays which are major game changers.
  2. Biggest eye roll ever. Unless they take the division from us at the end of the year I could literally care less what NE does at this time.
  3. Yooo check the 76 steelers season. Started out 1-4 and Bradshaw got knocked out in week 5, proceeded to go rough shot and win their next 9 games in a row which had the 5 shutouts which included the final two games of the year. They ended up losing in the AFC title but that is still freaking wild.
  4. The one thing I would say for the Phins is they just lost two games back to back that were heartbreakers at the buzzer they desperately needed for the playoffs. Mix in the turbulence with the QB stuff and what looks like a roster losing faith and this game could get ugly fast.
  5. UB Bulls 30 Miami Hurricanes 17 Bills get back on the winning side in a relatively non-descript game, 13-3 at half time Buffalo powered by a Gabe Davis TD for 40 yds. Out of half the Bills go down the field and get a TD courtesy of Allen on a run to go up 20-3. Miami does get a TD following that with Tua finding Waddle to close it to 20-10, but the game is not much closer as Buffalo controls play and gets to 30 with 6 minutes left on a Singletary TD run. Dolphins get a garbage TD late to make it look closer. Allen 21-27 285 1 TD 65 yds rush 1 TD Singletary 95 yds 1 TD 10 rushes Diggs 155 yds 8 recs Tre White 1 INT 4 PD
  6. My belief has been the NFL if it expands is going to do two as a way to balance things. SO my top picks of where I could see them adding a team: -San Antonio -Portland -Mexico City -Vancouver I also think the league would consider going back to two division per conference (east and west) as a way to balance things better with the AFC East and AFC North merging, AFC South and AFC West plus St. Louis team, NFC East & NFC South merging, NFC North & NFC West plus Vancouver. Geographically the AFC East and North fit bit better then doing the AFC South which already has Houston/Nasvhille more West and even Indy whereas NFC East is a better fit with NFC South as you have Carolina, TB, & Atlanta all really east. Not sure SD honestly cares anymore unless the Chargers come back and even then not sure it would be the same.
  7. Haha yesss. I am not sure I ever watched a movie that was a more then a roller coaster of high and low then the Patriot. By the final fight scene when he grabs the Flag and charges the Brits I am pretty sure you also want to do the same.
  8. Yep your on your own here bud For Florida and Miami especially the colors 1000% work. Personally I think colors should reflect the region a team plays in and for the Bills red/blue is perfect. I love how Pittsburgh is all Black and Yellow, Seattle Blue/Grey/Green, etc...
  9. Not that this has any bearing on anything, BUT on Madden anytime its my first SB appearance with the Bills I always roll with the all whites either modern or throwback. In the words of the french general in the patriot "If I die today, I will die looking good" or something to that extent
  10. I don't judge quality of competition until the season is over. It is very possible KC/TEN/NOLA/TB/IND and even NE could be playoff teams and what the schedule feels like now changes drastically come week 18. Either way you have the schedule you have and there are no freebees in the NFL. If they lose in the playoffs its because of a failure to execute not because of the schedule they have.
  11. The plot and ending may have killed the franchise in itself. When the audience is sitting there with a WTF is this face at points with decision made by characters your losing it. They basically made Michael Myers into a video game god mode type character which kills any relatability to the character.
  12. Wait are you trying to tell stuff about the new stadium #DunkirkDonLives yep. The great irony of this is the game Josh beat them he was not good. Last year he was ok/decent, this year he was great and they loss. Football makes no sense at times
  13. Question 3 is good, I said no, and this is my take: Mahomes would've been successful in Buffalo, BUT the timeline of his development would've been similar to Allen's. He may have looked better year 1, but the 2018 Bills offense was garbage to the farthest extreme. By comparison the 2018 Chiefs which is Mahomes first true year at QB in KC (2017 I am not including in this exercise) he had a ready to run offense in terms of talent at skill positions and O-line. Literally he had to drive the ship and dear god did he ever drive that ship. Maybe the Bills are closer to the playoffs with Mahomes in 2018, but it still is a learning year. I think the 2019 Bills with Mahomes take out Brady for the division, but remember how important Tre is for the secondary and also the fact Dion Dawkins was acquired with one of the picks we moved for also. The Bills defense without Tre probably is not as solid which puts pressure on the Mahomes led offense in 2019 to be dynamic. We didn't have Tyreek or Kelce, so while John Brown and Beasley are good players the offense is less dynamic. But who knows what that then means of the AFC with KC then, do they bring in Lamar or Josh? Do they try and trade for Kirk Cousins or Tannehill? The dominos really are fascinating. I have no problem saying the Bills are a step ahead in 2019 with Mahomes, but I think the AFC as a whole is more competitive then as KC's supernova type start with Mahomes 2018-2020 truly did dominate the landscape and wouldn't happen allowing more competition. Additionally the Bills themselves are stronger on offense on the outset but their D is weaker. Truthfully last years 2020 Bills squad was the best team in the AFC they just had KC in the way. This years team is more well rounded I think, but the competition is raised even with KC falling back to earth. So I say no the Bills do not win a SB and if anything mimic this current squads journey especially as I think the AFC is just that much tighter instead. This would be my prediction for the Bills 2018-2020 with Mahomes: 2018: 8-8 . Offense is better as Mahomes out of the gate was more accurate then Allen, but lack of weapons sinks the season and the defense misses not having a #1 corner 2019: 11-5 division crown. NE goes down, but the Bills fall in the post season and Baltimore or Houston goes to the SB 2020: 12-4 division crown again. Post-season I think Bills have 25% chance at SB, but the talent in the AFC makes it all a coin flip at this point and it just isn't our turn.
  14. For being bold predictions these 3 are looking pretty solid right now. Carolina the first 3 weeks was looking good as a pick, now they seem to be flaming out. Fields is screwed by his team and his own personal lack of effort.
  15. I normally do not see games as blowouts, however I could really see this getting ugly for Miami as they just lost two games last minute with their coaching staff making some realllyyyyy questionable decisions. Tua actually I thought looked OK to decent in the last two games so football science says he is going to implode haha.
  16. I am a BIG Burrow fan. He reminds more of a more polished Josh coming out of college and the way he plays is really easy to like. Plus his whole speech about repping poor kids and stuff was awesome, he just seems like a really good dude.
  17. Remarkable they aren't even playing each other and they still manage to suck
  18. Yea like passing in grocery store like that is cool. Stopping them for picture or autograph is overboard
  19. What are you saying...?
  20. To me its a time and place type thing. I met Jim Kelly at a bar once on St Pattys in 2010 because he was being social and ok with people coming up. If I was at a bar and brewery and Allen was mingling a bit I wouldn't feel bad coming up to him. But if he is doing groceries or at a restaurant I am leaving him be and hope others would, same really for any player. I use to work at a bank and frequently met/worked with some of the Sabres, Thomas Vanek especially. 90% of my conversations were what I would have with any of the customers, with the rare occasion if he had a great game or they just clinched the playoffs to bring up that.
  21. For the Bills I predict a very lazy Sunday for fans that sees weight loss due to no game meaning less beer, wings, and other food. Perhaps even the lawn gets mowed! For the games over the weekend I want/see KC beating TEN which helps our tie breaker for the 1 seed, Bengals hopefully upset the Ravens for seeding reasons and Joe Burrow is fun to watch, and the Geno lead Seahawks upset the Saints because football is really weird.
  22. Yea the biggest weakness this defense has is the PA. For some reason it’s the one area they freeze like deee in headlights at points.
  23. Agreed. To read that he had a good game is just crap. The Jets, THE JETS, sacked the crap out of Titans and we couldn't get one. Sometimes this is where looking at analytics is too much. The Bills failed to get to Tannehill and he was able to convert many big passes in the 2nd half especially because of this.
  24. Exactly. I HATE when people cherry pick stats because you literally are altering the reality to your own liking.
  25. Having the #1 seed guarantees just two games needed to make the SB and you are home for both. At least one of the #1 seeds has made the SB 4 of the last 5 years with the only year not being the 2018-19 season when both #2 seeds NE and LAR beat the #1 seeds at home (mind you NOLA should've went thanks officials). The year prior to that in 2017-18 both #1 seeds made the SB (NE and PHI). So you when it basically has been a 50% average of a #1 seed making it in I would say its a big deal.
