  1. I would say from last year until the end of this decade every year is basically SB or bust for me. Doesn't ruin my life or season if they do not make every year as it is extremely tough even with a good team, but they have the QB, roster, and coach to be in play every year. If after this decade you said we hadn't won a title I would say they failed to meet the goal/expectations while I enjoyed a nice period of success. Same as with the 90s Bills they failed to finish the job, but it was still a great time to be a fan and period of football.
  2. I would move the score to a TD difference as the Bills MO this year in losses have been close and heartbreaking, but otherwise if the Bills lose this is the script. My personal fear with KC is with White out Buffalo tries to adjust coverage to take away Hill which opens Kelce up more and we can't answer that nor the heavy screen plays the Chiefs have been running I personally think both QBs shine in this game and it just ends up being a coin flip, but if either QB were to have a semi off day it is because the defense forces them to be one dimensional in how they have to play the game whether it is Allen not running or Mahomes not being able to leave the pocket.

  4. With GM's you really need to use the long view. Rushing a QB pick still will not fix the fundamental issue of building the roster to have depth and the talent to maximize that QB's skill set. The Chiefs and Bills both targeted QB's which they had very specific visions for and how they would support them. As fans I get you always want QB asap, but at times it pays dividends to wait a little for your guy. This is a QB weak draft and Schoen would be walking into a team that needs a full on autopsy before making adjustments. Jones probably isn't the guy but god knows what exists with him or some of the skill guys given the prior regime. You are 100% correct that you need a guy like an Allen for your long term success, but the foundation has to be ready to build on without any lingering issues from the prior build or lack there of. If the Mara family is not onboard with a total rebuild any prospective GM/coach would be a fool to take it.
  5. It is not just FA but trade also. Most players are fine with Buffalo McCoy came, Diggs approved the trade, Hyde was a great signing. You do have a few which it is a no go but that is true for virtually every city as some players really have no desire for the big lights of NYC either. With Buffalo winning it makes it a much better destination. I would agree prior to 2017 it was not as easy a sell as the team had limited success and the area takes a little to learn and love.
  6. While I really hope that Daboll and Schoen don't leave they certainly have earned it and going to an NFC opponent is far preferable over AFC. I would be very curious to see if they go to the Giants as a GM-Coach pair how much they try to mimic what Beane and McD have done. In many respects they would be entering a similar situation to the Bills in 2017: -Cap is a mess -Some talent exists but no one really knows to what extent -Culture is non-existent -General direction of the franchise is rudderless -Starting QB can do some things but has warts at the same time I would be curious on how this could play out. Beane is a disciple of cap mgmt and maximizing your assets from cap space to draft picks. Would Schoen be willing to eat cap the same way? McD was big about building a culture of competition and earning your spot. Daboll has proven to be good most of the time with the X's and O's, would he focus on culture in the way McD did. Personally I think the smartest thing McD/Beane from the outset was just taking a year to evaluate what they had while building competition along the way. 2018 was the sacrificial lamb cap wise and QB development wise. The Giants could do similar as their talent in certain places isn't awful and I could truthfully see Daboll making the offense into a competent unit. What are your thoughts on this and if the Bills plan would be copied to any degree if at all?
  7. Bills 28 Chiefs 24 Football fans finally get the matchup people have wanted with Allen Mahomes as both have strong days. KC gets out to an early lead on the Bills compliments of a Pringle screen TD in the first but Allen rallies the boys with Diggs getting a TD on a Slant from 5 yds out. In the second the Bills get sack fumble from Jerry Hughes on Mahomes and Singletary runs one in from 15 yds up. KC moves the ball late in the half but the drive stalls and they are held to a FG. Up 14-10 out of half Buffalo gets the ball and goes on a 7 minute drive to score a TD to Davis from Allen. Up 21-10 the Bills trade possessions until KC moves the ball and get a TD from Kelce to narrow the gap to 21-17 entering the 4th. Sensing blood in the water Allen methodically gets the Bills downfield and finishes the drive on a TD run to get Buffalo back to two score lead 28-17. The Chiefs move quickly to get a TD with a few minutes to go to make it 28-24 on a Hill reverse TD run, but the Bills offense is able to run the clock out. Allen 22-31 275 yds 2 TD 43 yds rush 1 TD Singletary 64 yds 12 att 1 TD Diggs 8 rec 118 yds 1 TD
  8. JAX fans I have noticed are probably the most insecure fanbase in the league. I kinda get it because if you are a fan you are routinely dumped on the way we were during the drought except you have no real fanbase or culture, no great history outside of the late 90s, opposing fans regularly take over, and your owner has actively tried to make your team be in London. The actually Jag fans I have met are incredibly defensive, but its like dealing with a JV squad who you really just shrug off and move on.
  9. As I was born in 88' I have no idea about this 83 game. What happened or caused it to be the Wild West?
  10. As the back to back 2015 and 16 off season champs I salute the Browns for this
  11. Titans over Bengals 28-20 (I think people are really underselling TEN too hard) Bills over Chiefs 30-24 Packers over 49ers 34-20 Rams over Bucs 27-23
  12. You really have zero clue what your talking about. Try ripping off your big toe nail and tell me what you mobility is. People criticize stuff like this or turf toe etc.. and have zero clue how much even something like losing a toe nail impacts your ability to move. These guys are literally the peak of athletics and injuries that limit them even 10% have a massive impact on what they can or can't do. I have no doubt Lamar tried to make a go and it just wouldn't happen. I blocked a shot in hockey that went right to the bone on my leg and I thought my leg broke, I can't imagine what his situation was. The Ravens had a cursed type season of injuries and even with that had multiple chances to get in. Truthfully their great failing was losing so many once score games. I will say this with Lamar eventually wear and tear is going to happen which will slow down some of his dynamic ability. They have to let him pass more and utilize that piece of his skillset if he is going to be an elite player 10 years from now. He is going to get a big money deal though and the Ravens and their fans will feel good about what they had regardless of this year.
  13. That is my thing. EVEN if everything settles this summer do you want to be the guy bringing that circus to town after everything. The moment things go sour its a 10 alarm fire in the making.
  14. With the current roster 3-4 years or so before age really sets in. NOW the window doesn't shut after that as with Allen he will keep it open to a decent degree, but there will be some change. Typically most franchise QB's see their first act and then there is a 2nd act. The key is once the roster turns over how fast you can infuse new impactful pieces to keep it going. If you look at Big Ben the 2000s he had one group of players and then the 2010s another group. They did reinfuse him with talent Brown/Bell etc.. but never got past the Brady hurdle and their own hubris. The one thing with windows is they close before you realize it. You can basically pin point with every great QB and team when there's truly closed. For the 90s Bills their last great gasp was the Steelers loss in 95. After that Kelly was pretty much done in 96 physically and the gas was dry. BUT going into 96 you wouldn't have thought that at the time. In 2019 the Pats window clearly closed as Brady and a decent defense got rolled by the Titans at home. But people still thought until he left they would reload and be good. The Seahawks exploded like a supernova in 2012 but after their loss in 2014 the magic never came back. I think a lot of people would've figured another SB run would happen but here we are and they faded. In general windows being open are really really tough in all sports. Golden State in the NBA ran super hot for 7 years and then fell back for two. The examples are endless. For the Bills it is reasonable to say they probably have 3-4 years here. One of the other things thought is outside of NE/Brady most of the time you get maybe 1-3 cracks at winning the title. Brees and Rodgers each have only one a single title, Ben won 2 and went to 3, Manning went to 4 and won 2, Eli won 2, Russel Wilson went to 2 won one, etc.. It is incredibly difficult to get a ton of cracks and once your there that could be your only shot. Marino went year 2 and never again, but Kelly went to 4 and Elway 5. So yea maybe the Bills win the SB this year (god willing) but it is very possible despite the window being open that could be our only crack (not complaining if they win). The AFC is loaded with young talented QBs in Mahomes, Burrow, Herbert, & Jackson who will all challenge Allen even with his and the Bills window open. If they all eventually get even one crack apiece this decade, that leaves four chances for Josh to have his or go. That isn't including either that some young hotshot comes in to join the crew like Lawrence. In general what I would say is feel good about the fact at some point in probably the next 7-8 years Allen and the Bills will get their chance at the crown and make their run god wiling. How many more times they do after that? There is just soo much that goes into it and you need a little luck too
  15. I think part of it for me is the drought years were such killer that since 2017 on its been just relax and enjoy the good stuff because the bad really is that bad.
  16. I wasn't old enough to remember those, but I am with you just one game at a time and enjoy what we are going through.
  17. Baltimore had an insane amount of injuries though losing their top3 RBs, both top CBs and then Lamar. Anytime a QB like Lamar goes out I tend to give some leeway as the Bills without Josh or Chiefs without Mahomes would struggle too. Now next year if they miss yea I'd agree.
  18. I am going to go with the LA Chargers. It feels like this is the life story of the Chargers history, have a great QB, team has talent, proceed to waste said QB and talent due to coaching, bad luck, and poor play at the worst time. Some people may say Cleveland but I was not as high on them as some plus injuries wrecked their lineup along with 5 losses by less then a TD. Baltimore also just got wrecked by injuries and luck in one score games too so I wouldn't put them in this. The other team I'd consider is Dallas who is a talented team that just flames out yearly when the bright lights come.
  19. Both sides have reason to fear the other. Each team has a QB who is an other world Demi God who makes play and can take over a game which no answer is possible. There are only two other QB's who have a similar aura and both are older and not as mobile being Rodgers and Brady.
  20. The bigger thing is the Colts just went 1st round burnout experiment this year. What makes them think they get better results with Mitch? The Colts know they need a true solution at QB and I think they move for a proven starter like Cousins or Ryan OR they trade up in the draft for a QB and get a Tyrod type QB to hold the fort for a year.
  21. Yep. I believe it was $30 or $35.
  22. In terms of tailgate and leaving it is an incredibly solid spot. We got home to Rochester in an hour and half Sunday after the game parking at Keetles. The establishment itself I have never tried.
  23. O'Neills was awesome in our experience and has food. They try to move people if you are sitting so you may have a shot if you are there early enough. You can also reach out to them about when they open too.
  24. Agreed. It is a noticeable regression and it works quite poorly.
  25. Where is Dunkirk Don!?
