NFL: Much has been made about the primetime games lately as we got treated to some horrendous Thursday night games back to back while there was frustration about the Chiefs Bills not being in the evening and in many respects the NFL is not at fault here. Before you click below enraged let me explain my defense of the NFL. When the schedule is put together the NFL goes through like 4000 different schedules before they finally get to the one they use and all types of factors are included ranging from a teams popularity, games that should be put at night, TV partner preference, team preference, intriguing player additions, etc... there is a lot of sh*t that has to be balanced. In the case of the Broncos I doubt anyone could have seen this torpedoing so hard as Russell Wilson statistically has never played so poorly and had Denver been doing great people would be mad they didn't put him and the Broncos on. In the case of the Bills Chiefs the prior two seasons the NFL has put Buffalo-KC on primetime with TNF and SNF. BUF-KC is a prime marquee game for CBS and while the NFL doesn't fully do CBS-AFC FOX-NFC they way they use to, it still gravitates that way. CBS probably had this as their #1 game protected for the year and after two years of not getting that game the NFL let them have their turn. Even so the 4:25 game actually gets more viewers then SNF or MNF as more people are awake and just one game was shown opposed to it. But CORTA they should just flex that game to Monday as we know that game stinks by comparison. Two things with that: if you are a fan who is going to either game you have made arrangements for travel, potentially lodging, and it may impact if you can even attend. This is in no way in the NFLs best interest to start swapping games this frequently which screws over the actual paying fans when already they are competing with fans who would rather stay home then go to games. Second the NFL actually is next year going to expand the flexing next year larger so games can be moved a bit more. I doubt KC-BUF would've been moved regardless as CBS got the game they wanted and the NFL wasn't changing it, but there will be other more marquee esq games that don't have that protection that will come about. AFC BAL- Third blown loss in the fourth quarter this season and Lamar was not stellar. They could have this division far under wraps and instead are giving CIN a wide open lane to take it. BUF- The Matt Milano contract looks better every passing week and I will not be surprised if Edmunds gets resigned to something similar as his play has been sensational and complemented Matt very well. CLE- Brissett has come back to earth but the real issue is the CLE defense which is in the doldrums of the NFL. The offense is producing quite well (4th overall in ypg), while the defense which was supposed to a be a strength is bottom 10 of the league. That will drop them faster from the playoff race then anything. CIN-The Bengals and Burrow finally looked like everyone expected on offense as Jamar Chase went for 132 yds 7 rec and 2 TDs. Getting Chase involved weekly is paramount to how well this offense functions. DEN- Their defense is top 3 in ypg and being wasted by an offense no one could have predicted being this bad. This season is basically sunk at this point and the main goal for Denver long term has to be finding a coach who will maximize Russell Wilson's best strengths if they have any hope of salvaging him in the future. HOU- Bye week which allows their offense to draw up some new plays for David Mills who has regressed after a decent first year. Mills has went from averaging 6.8 yards per throw down to 6.3 and already has four INTs against just 5 TDs thrown. IND- Big win against the Jags to crawl back to life and that was with Taylor out. They are at the Titans this week which with a win would amazingly get them back to 1st in the division. Zaire Franklin (LB) has been a revelation on defense leading the league with 66 tackles as IND has waited for Shaquille Leonard to return. JAX- The Jags could be 4-2 right now but back to back losses against divisional opponents really hurt their playoff chances. Trevor Lawrence only threw the ball 22 times but went 20-22 for 166 yds and threw what looked to be the game winning TD with 2:43 to go. The Jags squad certainly is miles ahead of last year, but they look to need a bit more talent before fully competing. KC- Tough loss to BUF but their defense played a pretty solid games given they were out their starting 2 CBs and still kept Buffalo to 24 pts. Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnalloa has done a good job with this unit despite the holes it has. LAC- They are tied for the division at 4-2 now with KC and have a manageable schedule with SEA, ATL, and SF before rematching with KC in a must win game if they want to take the division this year. MIA- 3-0 to 3-3 is a tough fall for MIA whose depth has been exposed as injuries have mounted. The big issue is their offensive line is still a mess as no QB is getting time and they all have been hit a lot. Tuas return will help to get things moving again, but their playoff hopes rest more on their offensive line actually protecting their QBs, if that doesn't happen they are going to fall fast. NE- Zappe/Jones QB controversy? Not yet as the new guy is always popular until things go bad for a game (ask Cooper Rush), but the offense has clearly played with more vibrancy and purpose since Zappe took over. I would expect Jones to take his spot back, but that leash is going to be tight if things don't go well. NYJ- At 4-2 Jet fans are finally feeling some good vibes for the first time in forever. They are not world beaters and Zach Wilson has a lot of growth needed with just 1 passing TD vs 2 INTs. But the defense has really embraced Salehs scheme as they are top 10 in yards allowed in the NFL currently and the front four is making noise getting to the QB. They will be near the playoff picture come December which is huge growth in itself. PIT- Steelers have too much pride to wilt this early in the season and they gave it to Brady Sunday. Trubisky came in relief Sunday and played on fire going 9-12 for 144 and a TD, but probably too little too late at this point with Pickett now having the reigns. RAIDERS- The only savings grace for the Raiders is the AFC looking much weaker and the wildcard spots being potentially a 10 win team. The defense has to improve if they are going to make any type of run. TEN- The Colts have crawled back to life the last few weeks so this weeks matchup is an opportunity to punch them back again. The Titans offense could use a WR addition at the deadline as they have not scored more then 24 pts in a game and after Robert Woods and with Burks out it is pretty dire. NFC ARZ- At 2-4 things are going sideways quickly as Hollywood Brown is now out for most of the season and the offense has not looked in sync once. They host the Saints Thursday in battle between two teams fighting to stay around the playoff race in what amounts almost an elimination game already. ATL- The Falcons have become an extremely tough out and potentially would have the division lead if not for the atrocious Brady penalty. Marcus Mariota has been a steady hand on offense pacing for nearly 3700 yds combined and 24 TDs at QB. With CAR 2x, CHI, and WSH in their next 6 games they have a real opportunity to create a playoff chance for themselves. CAR- The selloff has started with Robbie Anderson going to Arizona, but more blood with be shed. Brian Burns has been brought up as a guy to move, but letting go of a good young pass rusher when you are going to rebuild seems a bit heavy handed. CHI- Watching Fields Thursday you can see the potential the kid has if he has anytime and anyone who can catch the ball. Back to back drops on the final two plays were killers, Chicago needs to overhaul tenfold in the offseason with proven pass catchers if they will ever realize Fields potential good or bad. DAL- The defense finally had a let down as the Cowboys offense got the score to 20-17 with 14:39 left in the game before the Eagles went on a 13 play 75 yard drive to ice the game. Regardless with Dak returning and another matchup with PHI to come at home they can still control their destiny. DET- Rookie Aiden Hutchinson has 3 sacks and 2 tackles for a loss in 5 games... the rest of the Lions defense have combined for just 4 sacks and 20 tackles for a loss. Additionally the Lions have just 2 INTs and 2 fumbles recovered. They will not improve until they get more game changing players on the defensive side that can make impact plays regardless of what the offense does. GB- All the alarms are going off as the offense looks broke and the defense is not making enough impact plays. If there is a team that needs Odell Beckham or DJ Moore to open a passing game up it is Green Bay. LAR- Small step forward as the offense looked a bit better and Allen Robinson finally made some plays. The division is not as strong as it looked to start the year it is a matter of if McVay can fix the offensive line enough to take pressure off Stafford so he can get things going. MIN- They are 5-1 and escaped Miami with a 24-16 win.. they also punted 10 times. Perhaps it was due to playing a lesser QB in Skylar Thompson, but their offense keeps wasting its potential. Also it is fair to wonder if Thielen's best days have passed as he is on pace for just 804 yards which would be his worst season going back to 2015 and his yards per catch is also a career low at 9.8. NOLA- Tough loss as they looked to have 3-3 in their grasp until Chase broke off a 60 yard TD at the end with poor tackling by all of the Saints defenders. Much was made of an improved Saints defense, but they rank 16th in yards allowed per game. NYG- Saquon Barkley is on pace for 1745 yards on the season which would be the most rushing going back to AP in Minnesota in 2012. On the defensive side their front 7 is getting home with 13 sacks, 24 tackles for a loss, and 11 forced fumbles, they also are 8th in pass yards allowed. While the Giants outside of running the ball don't do anything spectacular, the impact of quality coaching is noticeable. PHI- The Eagles offense had another good game and Jalen Hurts made a lot of plays on the way to victory. Sign of warning though, Hurts is on pace for taking over 40 sacks and at some point all of those hits will add up if it continues this much. SEA- Probably the most surprisingly 3-3 team in the league as their defense shutdown the Cardinals to just 9 pts Sunday. Still allowing 410 yards per game will eventually catch them as that is not sustainable long term. SF-They are 3-3 and lost to the Falcons but are second in point differential in the NFC at +33. Nothing makes sense with this team and they will probably win now Sunday against the Chiefs 40-27 with the way everything is. TB- The offense looks like a shell of the past two years and even with players returning healthy its really off. Blame falls directly to Brady's feet who went to Bob Krafts wedding Friday before the game instead of hanging back and maybe working on the upcoming matchup. He may have all the accolades in the world, but he has been a poor leader this year and the frustration is real as for Brady being mortal isn't that fun. WSH- The best news for WSH fans is that NFL owners are finally starting to press on Snyder to sell or they may force him out as a group. 24 yay votes are need for Snyder to be forced to sell, the recent news seems to be the owners politely telling him to do so on his own.

If it is Oliver/Edmunds vs Poyer and one of those two I am leaning towards Oliver/Edmunds and letting Hamlin/Johnson fully get a shot OR drafting a new guy. Again I love Poyer and everything he has meant to the Bills, he is also 32 next year going on his 11th year. Like the godfather it is not personal it is just business.

Agreed. I thought losing Tyron Mathieu was huge as he is a close to elite level safety and can hide mistakes their CB make. They don't have anyone elite in the secondary at CB or SAF now so if that front 7 doesn't do its job they have issues. With that said not many teams can take advantage and if KC's offense is clicking it kinda doesn't matter. And yea cap matters, cap matters big time. I have to believe Beane watched Hamlin at safety and felt better if Poyer ends up walking. Poyer is amazing but there will be losses and if you have a guy who can replace at high level cheaper I get the move even if I really don't want him gone.

NFL: The big news out of the weekend was the awful roughing the passer calls that happened in the NE-DET, TB-ATL, & KC-Raiders games. It has looked quite obvious that the NFL after Tua got knocked out on Thursday night two weeks ago has now over reacted by instructing officials to be hyper vigilant in their calls. This has now caused officials to be overly sensitive and spotters in general to be overly sensitive with hits on QBs. This is a problem. The issue with Tua was not the hit by Milano nor the hit against CIN. Milano's hit was a push that had a bad finish due to momentum and how Tua landed. The CIN play was a text book tackle and Tua's unwillingness to go door created a rag doll situation. The league as it has with many issues has gone too far in the name of safety and it is caused some really bad calls to result. This entire mess would've been a non issue had the NFL/Phins held Tua out from returning against Buffalo. Does he still get hurt against CIN? Maybe. But at least the guy wouldn't have played the rest of the Buffalo game when he clearly was hurt which perhaps allows a better situation for him vs CIN. The answer to this whole situation is common sense, a 7 year old would've said hold Tua out after how bad he looked against the Bills getting up. We do not need refs playing it overly safe on calls that are not needed or Bridgewater being taken out against NYJ just because for a split second he moved weird when you could easily see he was just tired. I want to believe this is small blip and things will even out, but the NFL is notorious for swinging fast the opposite way when things go bad in a situation so I am not holding my breath we do not see more of this. AFC BAL: Defense finally got it going but Lamar was off on quite a few throws that would've been big gains or a TD. Now is the time to work out the kinks and if the Ravens can they will be far more dangerous. BUF: Take every second of this team in and appreciate what we have. This feels like a special season and after so much pain and suffering seasons like this are the reward and not to be take for granted. CIN: Tough loss, but they seem to be getting it together slowly but surely. At the same point the offense looks to be figured out a bit and it is their D leading the way. CLE: The talent on the roster is there and Brissett is doing an admirable job at QB. Chubb has been superb all season and if they can ride him until Watson comes back they might have playoff hopes as the AFC looks more open then before. DEN: Russel Wilson is getting deserved criticism and he did miss Hamler bad on 4th down. He also had two TD's dropped throughout the game that would've made this a non issue. Wilson needs to be better, but luck has not been on their side either right now. Regardless Hackett needs to find 5-7 plays in SEA that were Wilson's favorite and put those in his lineup to get it going HOU: Lovie Smith has this defense chugging to a point they are in any game right now and got victory #1 Sunday. A bend not break defense held the Jags to two FG's and got an INT in the redzone as rookie Derek Stingley got his 1st INT of his career for HOU. IND: The Colts defense had a very good day against DEN as old "friend" Stephon Gilmore had a game turning INT and game ending pass breakup. Still Matt Ryan looks atrocious and the Colts as an offense are averaging a paltry 13.8 ppg and 333 ypg good for just 22nd overall. JAX: Another winnable game which Lawrence had turnovers that killed their drives and couldn't finish when they are in the redzone. The hardest thing for the Jags is the division is wide open and winnable, but you can't lose at home to Houston like that when the schedule toughens up soon. KC: The offense is cruising right now as they can pick their poison up front. On the flip side the Chiefs defense is the weakest it has been since 2017 as their secondary is getting torched deep as they are allowing 255 ypg (23rd in the NFL) and allowing 25 ppg. As the they found out against the Colts when your offense is slowed you need to be able to play some defense and this could be their one weakness long term. LAC: Gritty win that helps give some separation from other AFC teams while getting Herbert through another week without doing everything as he recovers. With Ekeler running well and DEN/SEA back to back at home, they have a chance to stack some wins as their players heal up into their bye. MIA: Divisions are not won 3 weeks in. I think Miami is a good team and playoff team, but they also are not world beaters and the attrition of the season is here. Bridgewater shouldn't have been held so fast as that really hamstrung Miami, but your defense can't allow 40 either as the Jets took advantage of turnovers and penalties to make their offenses life easier. NE: Bailey Zappe had a solid game for QB as they ran for over 176 yards against a porus Lions defense. Rhamondre Stevenson went for 161 yards and will see the Lions share of carries now with Damien Harris done for the year. NYJ: The Jets are 3-2 for the first time in forever and Zach Wilson has had two solid weeks at QB. The Packers will provide a much tougher litmus test for what this Jets team has going for it, but the fact this is even being said speakers volumes for airplane people. Keep feeding Bryce Hall NY. PIT: Steeler fans awoke to reality on Sunday of what many fanbases have lived with for a long term, when you are not good watching football can be really painful. Pickett actually wasn't bad, but it will be some time before they come back to being at the top which might be a tough adjustment for many steeler faithful. Raiders: 7-1 last year in one score games 1-4 in 2022. Absolutely gutting losses this year though that have basically taken the playoffs off the board baring a miracle. Josh Jacobs has been awesome though and he needs to be utilized more as it brings out the best in Carr. TEN: They are back on top of the division by riding Henry and as long as he goes they go. If Carolina does sell off players DJ Moore would be a huge fit here to help the passing attack. NFC: ARZ- In probably their best effort all year they pushed the Eagles until a missed game tying field goal. In an early playoff fate matchup they go to Seattle and if they can walk out with a win they will be 3-3 and get Hopkins back which all things considered isn't too bad. ATL- Bills fans have been there where playing Brady your boys give it your all and get screwed on a bad call. The Falcons are playing week in week out wayy above their weight class, but this loss was a gut punch when a potential division lead slipped away like that. CAR- The expected happened with Rhule fired after going 11-27 but now the real works starts. This is a franchise that desperately needs a vision and leader to chart a course for them. Additionally they have some pieces many teams will want, this season has a lot of pain coming but they need to finally structure for a full rebuild and maximize their draft capital. CHI- Fields had his best effort of the season and the Bears actually had a 22-21 lead in the 4th before Minnesota finished them off. Chicago needs more games like this from Fields to show that he is making tangible signs of progress. DAL- Dallas defense is dominating up front and that is slowing down so many offenses. Micah Parsons is the DPOY at this point as he has become beyond disruptive and a true game changer. DAL is at PHI on Sunday Night and it will be a great test to see how their defense does against that PHI offense. DET- If you see a Lions fan give them a hug. The hype and excitement of the season has quickly drained down to the bad for Lions fans as they are 1-4 and the offense that was at least scoring in bunches just got shut out. Campbell is a great rah rah guy, but the results are similar in year 2 and it is more and more feeling like same old same old. GB- The Packers only had the ball four times in the second half to the tune of two punts, loss on downs, and a sack on the final play of the game. Every time the offense starts looking better they follow up with a game like this and Rodgers looks incredibly off right now. LAR- The defense has its issues but the offense is a mess with the offensive line an ez pass and injuries at the play maker spots. They are really starting to run out of rope here even in the NFC and it is fair to question what Matt Stafford's performance has been this year. MIN- Since their last Super Bowl loss in 1976 the Vikings have made the NFC Title game every 7 seasons or so. Their last appearance was the 2017 season so this is only year 6, but why does this feel like a year when they find their way back only for more misery at the hands of Cousins. NOLA- Chris Olave is going to walk away with offensive rookie of year at the rate he is going pacing for 85 rec 1300 yds and 7 TDs. NYG- Smart game mgmt, utilizing your players properly, and a little luck go a long way. 4-1 and 3-1 in conference the G-Man can go .500 the rest of the way (6-6) and they will make the playoffs. With games against WSH 2x, SEA, HOU, DET, and IND they control their destiny at this point (good luck Daboll) PHI- The Cards give the Eagles a scare and Hurts was finally brought down a bit as he was held to 239 yds passing on the day. But 61 yds rushing and 2 TDs made the difference on 15 carries for a player who has elevated himself big time this year. SEA- Geno Smith is defying all expectations with another 3 TD performance and good QB play that is giving the Hawks a chance week in week out. Hard to know if he stays in SEA after this year but someone is taking a flyer on him next year to help push them towards the playoffs... its probably IND isn't it. SF- The 49ers are tied with the Bills in pts allowed with just 61 on the season. Jimmy G has been steady and the offense in general is complimenting the defense quite well to be a sledgehammer of a team to play. TB- Brady and crew know they escaped Sunday with a win. Leonard Fournette has been a revelation as he is on pace for 1612 yards combined and 10 TDs this year. WSH- The head coach through the QB under the bus, garbage truck, and presidential motorcade as another Wentz turnover cost them. Carson Wentz is putting up a hilariously good bad season that hasn't been seen since Jameis Winstons "legendary" 30-30 (TD/INT) season in 2019, maybe Wentz can be the second in the club. Seriously though maybe Geno Smith or Jimmy G come here in 2023 as solid if not unspectacular QB play without turnovers would have this team at 3-2.

Yea like after games especially one that emotionally charged and the Raiders having lost every game one score and gut punch style Adams is probably at his wits end. I actually believe his apology as I can get over reacting after all of this, I just don't know a middle ground between fine v suspension that sends a message. I don't think the NFL does half game suspensions like some leagues.

So after the game media is explicitly told not to be in the way its basically a no fly zone at that area of the end zone let alone being in the middle. The shove 100% was not warranted and had he helped the guy get up its a non issue. Even though the dude 100% should not have been there and made a major mistake in his own right, the action still was not justified and the NFL may use Adams as an example behavior wise while probably quietly taking that guys media credentials for a bit.

I've seen online a few people try to actually say "well he didn't have to hit him like that" and I pretty much lost it. The guy has no business being on the field he is a legit threat. The one security guard looks to have hurt himself and people saying he wasn't going to hurt anyone welp, right lets wait until someone is stabbed or worse to actually take this seriously. It is pure stupidity and why society is where we are with some things because self entitlement reigns supreme. Call me jaded but I have seen enough things I never wanted nor expected to see in my lifetime ranging from shooting to two planes going into the WTC that I would rather be cautious for a possible situation then wait for one to occur. This wasn't some dumb college kid either like the LSU game who pretty much was stoned out of his mind when he walked out onto the field, the guy managed to actually bring a freaking flare onto the field. When we start allowing clear criminals loopholes it is only for the worse of society, I hope the guy sees 6 months in prison and the case is tossed quick.

Haha the dream. 2013 was the last 3 home games in Sept stretch NE, CAR, at NYJ, BAL. 2015 was close as the third home game was the Giants October 4th with IND, NE, at MIA, prior and last year was also close with the third home game against Houston October 3rd with PIT, at MIA, and WSH prior. The NFL tries to balance it out so I would think in 2023 Buffalo will probably have four home games by Oct 31st plus we have 9 homes game total next year.

I would add to that having two incredibly tough games in a row was probably the best thing so they don't take any team lightly. While I expect PIT to be an easier game for the Bills, I do not expect the Bills to take them lightly.

100%. Now from what I have read the Rams have had a lot of success with homegrown talent over the years and round 2-7, but at some point the odds balance out. I am surprised they did not take a flyer on someone like Duane Brown for insurance (granted he is out right now).

Bills 30 Steelers 17 The Bills don't cover the Spread! ... but it doesn't matter as a late garbage TD is the only reason. Buffalo pretty much runs rough shot as they score on the opening drive with Knox getting a TD finally and then picking Pickett on the next drive to get another TD on a Cook screen pass to go up 14-0 after the 1st. The Steelers get a FG mid second quarter but Buffalo answers with a FG of their own to go into halftime up 17-3. Steelers drive stalls out of half and Buffalo gets another FG to go up 20-3. Pickett throws another INT and Buffalo more or less ices the game then with Diggs TD for 30 yards as the 3rd quarter ends. PIT gets some garbage points and Bass gets another FG as the Bills cruise to KC at 4-1. Allen has not really had a great game for PIT I think finally he gets his day against them: Allen 24-31 340 yds 3 TDs // rushing 35 yds 3 att Singletary 73 yds 10 att Diggs 112 yds 1 TD 6 rec

This is where their cap issue could cause long term harm. They need a LT badly as what they have isn't working right now, but they do not have the space to move for someone of decent value. The NFC being weak probably will allow the Rams some attrition, but at some point they gotta figure it out.
