Week 15, Cowgirls v. Bills - Predict the Score
corta765 replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Classic let down game for Dallas especially being an AFC matchup the week after their big win over PHI, while Buffalo is feeling good as the offense is back to feeling like old and the defense has some teeth. Bills 27 Cow People 17 Bills start hot with a 10-0 lead after the 1st quarter as Josh hits Davis for a 35 yard TD on the opening drive and after forcing a 3 and out Bills get a FG. The second half Dallas gets going a bit as they get a FG with 10 mins to go, but the Bills are able to move downfield and get a FG of their own to end the half 13-3. Dallas gets the ball out of half and get a TD to narrow the lead to 13-10 as Pollard takes a screen in. Josh and the offense methodically go downfield as Cooks attacks the middle and eventually runs in a TD from 7 yards out so the Bills regain a 10 pt lead. Dallas is able to get a TD early in the 4th quarter as Dak finds Lamb, but that is as close as Dallas gets as the Bills score a TD to Diggs on a 20 yard play action play and then the Bills pick off Dak setting the Highmark into a frenzy with 4 mins left. The Bills move to 8-6 with a big look at the division crown. Allen 21-31 286 yds 2 TDs 21 yds rushing Cooks 110 yds 15 carries 1 TD rush Diggs 118 yds 7 rec Bernard 6 tackles 1 tfl 1 sack 1 INT -
Oh I was fuming about his drops yesterday and lack of play/focus. But he generally is good and consistent, Davis especially is more dependable to drop the ball then catch it. It is why when he was open late in the endzone on the FG drive I think Josh stopped looking at him given he wasn't doing anything all day.

Everyone has different life and situation. For some people the Bills are their escape and avenue for something they enjoy in what may not be very good circumstances and situation so things going south hits harder then for other. Pre Kids I took things a lot more serious and harder, now it can still upset me but nearly the way it use to.

I think for a portion of the fanbase there is some exhaustion and it really stems from not breaking through. 2017 to 2021 13 seconds everything was fun and the collective arrow was only pointing up. 13 seconds I have always said is when Camelot fell for many with McD/Beane as they felt that was the SB team and the way the loss happened was soul crushing. Last year was SB or bust and as obstacles kept coming that season itself felt like a trudge. Then the way it ended with such a dud of a loss at home only opened more question. This year a lot of things have not gone the bills way from coaching decisions, luck, injuries, one score losses etc.. and the clock with Josh's prime is legitimately on now and the missed chances are building so you can clearly see its wearing on the fanbase. Expectation forever guide how you view and internalize things. I have forever believed the most fun other then actually winning a title as a sports fan is the period when team goes from down to becoming a true contender. It is positive vibes and fun across the board, very little can discourage you. Once the feeling/curtain closes and it is win or bust time it can be very frustrating and exhausting as you now you have the potential, but when is the break through. Yea this season has been up and down and I am probably more negative on their chances then I have been since 2017, but watching Josh is awesome and he always give them a chance. I think if they do miss the playoffs I will be more frustrated at wasting a good Josh year. But I also don't take football as seriously anymore, I enjoy it and I love the Bills even if sometimes they wreck Sunday lol but its a game and entertainment.

Week 14, Bills v. Chefs - Predict the Score

Chiefs schedule not Bills: Pats Raiders Bengals Chargers If they are any worse then 3-1 I would be stunned. -

Yep. And truthfully after this the remainder of their schedule is a cake walk. -

So here is my logical explanation even though I think it is a tough game and 50/50 at best: -Bills offense is back to cooking and looks to be righted back to what we were use to until the GB/NYJ implosion last year -KC's offense is not the world killer it has been even with Mahomes being Mahomes. Their yards per game has dropped nearly 71 yards from 22' to 23'. They are still a good offense as they are top 10 in most stats, but compared to every offense since Mahomes got here this is the most mortal they have been. -Every Buffalo loss has been a one score game with some strokes of atrocious luck like Elliot managing a 59 yard FG in the f*cking rain to some bad coaching decisions. Historically one score games in the NFL are much more luck based then skill (although I do believe some coaches excel more then other to increase W vs L). Buffalo is due for a one score win just simply because things do balance out. -Regardless of my feelings on McD (goodbye) he is 6-0 after the bye and he actually won in KC in 2017 after they were dead and buried following the Peterman Chargers game -Injuries'! KC's defense has been the stronger point of the team this year and is good. Chris Jones is eating people like never before and in general this is a well coached unit. BUT the Chiefs are most likely not going to have their top LB Drue Tranquill as he suffered a concussion against GB and most likely will not play given the timeframe of testing. More important then him Bryan Cook their starting safety in his 2nd year is going to be out with an ankle injury. Cook was 2nd in tackles in the GB game and his been a key to their secondary. -The Bills issue this entire year is less the opponent and more themselves at this point. With a bye week to tie things up a bit especially defensively they stand a good shot in KC. -
Week 14, Bills v. Chefs - Predict the Score

I'm feeling positive and non logical: Bills 27 Chefs 20 Bills jump out to 10-0 lead and manage the game enough that the Chiefs only can stay within a TD. Mahomes is frustrated throughout despite making his normal great plays and Buffalo runs the clock out. Josh has another solid week but it is Cook who goes off for 130 yards which carries the day. Hyde gets an INT late 3rd quarter and a Cook rushing TD puts the Bills up 24-13. Bills get a FG mid 4th quarter and the Chiefs do get a TD to make it 27-20, but Bills call game after that to make the season far more interesting. Allen 24-34 256 yds 1 TD Cook 130 yds 1 TD 14 att, 35 yds receiving Kincaid 100 yds 7 rec Groot 2 sacks (Actual thought on the game: the Chiefs offense is a mess right now and Mahomes is carrying a very up and down WR corp. Their D is solid but they have had injuries that have hurt them and they may be down to their 3rd string LB corp. The Bills offense really does have a legit chance to carry the day, its going to be on the D to just not Mahomes get going to much) -
This is why for the most part the cap is like a credit card where you can move and manipulate it like crazy. Problems become when you move all of your pain forever and all the sudden your like the Saints and over 72 mil heading into next year. Beane didn't do anything to wild this offseason as they ate some true cap, as long as you take your medicine from time to time you generally are fine. Also it is why hitting on 3-4 picks a draft that turn into starters is so crucial as it keeps contract values low.
-
Agreed. I will say this twice he did bail their collective a**es out as in 2013 & 2016 as they were pretty far back from the playoffs. Looking at how they rallied is pretty wild, 2016 they beat Detroit, Seattle, & Houston all who made the playoffs in their 6 game win streak that got them from 4-6 to 10-6. 2013 they won the division on that memorable Cobb 40 yard TD in CHI none the less. Division is most likely out of the question unless Bills win out and Miami is 11-5 where Rodgers had the division pretty open, but wild card is going to be there if they can get to 10 wins. Realistically I can see the Bills 9-7 heading into Miami as I think the offense is fine now, buts Josh will need a run like Rodgers had and the team itself needs some collectively clean games mistake wise to do it.
-
Player wise it is not nearly as dire as it has been made out to be. New core is budding and if they can add a young good WR it really has some good long term potential.
-
At no point during Josh's prime which we are in does a non-playoff season have any positive. You have a QB who is top 3 in the league at the height of his power and you wasted it. All of the points you made are true, but realistically to me you didn't even give yourself a chance at the table. It is failure to the max no way around it.

Most BILLSY thing we are about to do to end the season
corta765 replied to Drew21PA's topic in The Stadium Wall
Most Billsy thing would be holding a Wildcard spot heading into week 18 and losing it as they lose in Miami on some fluky play as Miami has nothing to play for and get passed in tiebreakers by the Steelers because of AFC conference record. -
No. There is 100% bias on calls, but it also is proven home teams get more calls then away which I get as refs feel the noise and vibe there. Good teams seem to get more calls then bad teams... because bad teams are bad so it makes sense. The whole idea of a fix is insane to me because it would mean that Jalen Hurts on that scramble to the side throw TD over Poyer & Hyde everyone had to do that perfectly. I do believe that teams like PIT/DAL/NYG who have owners that are favorites by the league and tremendous pull get more calls then they should. NE right now is kind of proof as the league circles are still kind of shocked NE is bad, in the same way PIT I always feels gets beneficial calls as the league/media can't believe they may be bad. So 100% a bias exists for certain bluebloods/or league favs over say Carolina or Tampa Bay etc.. I also believe the league may tell ref crews to call things a certain way in terms of more calls or less calls with certain matchups which can favor one team over the other. But that is probably the extent of my conspiracy feelings which really isn't anything out of the norm.

They really did not have much around him though. Switch him and Emmitts teams and he has rings and Emmitt has stats. You could concentrate your defense on stopping him when Scott Mitchell was the QB. -

I believe that is actually what got them in the playoff in 2017 was the three way tiebreaker I saw that and did a double take lol Yep he torched it for 75 yards and I jumped through a ceiling. Most intense non playoff game which mattered zilch in the standings. -

At this point Josh is what he is and likes the contact. His only injuries though have been from the pocket so idk I don’t worry anymore -

There is this fun scenario I stopped giving thought too when the offense fell into straits that basically Von post bye is Von, we get Jones back for the last 2-3 weeks, and basically the team is clicking minus Tre/Milano heading to Miami for the division crown. I still haven't looked at it mentally, but the tab is at least back around haha. -

I have ran through NFL playoff simulator enough that Texans and Browns probably are 10-11 wins. WC7 though PIT probably only gets to 9 wins and LAC that is about their max. Unless you really believe that the Colts can get to 10, because of the Bengals losing Burrow the margin line I think is back to 10 wins. But yea the tiebreakers are no bueno for Buffalo if you are stuck at 9 or tied at 10. -

I think it depends on if Tre will restructure his contract. Morse I def think is gone and a draft target, they can open something like 40-50 mil by a few restructures and cuts. I think they want to get younger across the board and it has to be encouraging that guys like Benford, Bernard, Torrence, Kincaid, & Cook have all stepped up this year. They are part of the next core that comes as twilight hits for guys like Poyer, Morse, and Tre. Milano as long as he heals ok should have a few more years, but I expect some favorite faces to be gone entering 24' which is sad but exciting in terms of new opportunity. I thought from NE on he was fine. Knee injuries suck all around and the AP recovery is not normal nor should it be expected. Part of my point truthfully is this guy was paid to be an impact performer and crappy circumstances took a great player and we currently have basic. Not his fault and the recovery is what it is like you said. It laemens terms I am frustrated and life isn't fair haha. -

Agreed to an extent. The Jets defense is superb and their ability to keep their team in games week in week out cannot be discounted. Buffalo gets props for putting 30+ on them when no one else has and putting the game out of reach quickly. Unlike week 1 where Josh singlehandidly kept them in it, yesterday he made it a non issue. That counts to me. BUT yea lets see the offense string 3-4 games of solid consistent play together. Do that and you have my faith for real. -

I would say for the Bills it is even worse as the Jets at least lost a very good QB for the year. In Buffalo's case we have a QB again putting up MVP caliber numbers and we still have misfired then.
