OK before you comment and tell me that there is no way they make the playoffs they suck etc... I got it. I think they win somewhere between 4-6 games so I am not saying they make it. BUT the path truthfully looks something like this if they want to have a real shot: Wk 6 Win at Texans Watson doesn't play Wk 7 Win at Colts Luck is held in by our D and still shaky Wk 10 Win at Jets Wk 13 Win at Miami Wk 14 Win vs Jets Wk 15 Win vs Detroit Wk 17 Win vs Miami This would give them a 9-7 record and 7-5 conference record. Given how bad the AFC is that would keep them in the hunt. If they somehow could get to 10 wins and pickup a win specifically against the Jags which would boost their conference record to 8-4 things would be solid. Realistically those are the games they have probably the best chance to take at this point no one is predicting wins against NE and CHI/JAX look pretty formidable at this point.

Week 6 predictions: Bills at Texans
corta765 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Houston: 20 Buffalo: 14 Allen- 235 yds 15-28 1 TD McCoy- 110 yds 1 TD WR- Who cares at this point lol Bills play the Texans tight but Allen can't lead his second comeback and Bills lose on downs at the end. -
In general terms yes I think a lot of fans actually wouldn't disagree with you and are fine with: -Drafting a touted QB and were aggressive doing so something they really have failed at for years -Cleaning cap space for the future -Building through the draft which has shown some early dividends already in the last two years with guys like White, Milano, Edmunds, T Johnson, Dawkins, and Phillips. Allen is a project so no use grading him short term he is boom or bust like many rookies early -Culture and continuity which is something we lacked forever from the top down -The hiring of Dabol who with the All-22 tape has actually shown so really well thought out formations and schemes. Not his fault if the pieces/talent fail at point he is working with what he has. -A transition season where record wise we slip down to 4-7 wins because the team is changing for the long term So everything above most Bills fans really had no issue with this its sound in theory. The problem and outrage is in the following: -The lack of any form of a competitive offense because the GM prioritized the defense so heavily in FA and draft. There are a list of WR/OL who that 5 million for V. Davis would've been far more worth spending on instead -The utter refusal to bring in any QB worth a dime so Allen could've waited like they wanted and instead the forcing of Peterman who showed he wasn't ready. Teddy Bridgewater would've been a perfect one year option so Allen was not rushed, yet like WR/OL they did nothing -The lack of touches to the offenses best player McCoy as a whole -The fact they run the offense likes its 1990 football not 2018. You realize 300 yards is nothing these days yet for the Bills its still a major goal -The fact every WR move Beane has made has only made the WR corps worse. Dumped Sammy, Zay Jones is a bust with a ton of players at WR in that draft like Cooper Kupp available, Benjamin sucks, Boldin retired because he didn't want to be here, Kerley was signed and let go etc.. They looked at Allen and said best of luck and threw him to the wolves with nothing to go with. -The fact the opener the entire team looked so uninspired/unprepared and proceeded that by spotting LA 28 to open at home. -The additions of Davis and Muprhy have not panned out in any fashion so its wasted money that again could've and should've been used on the offense. -The fact that in a league so driven now by innovation and strategy our coach just said he picks culture over strategy. So yea in the general scope things are probably on path, but when you dive down more the honeymoon is over given there are some legitimate questions to ask now and some true skepticism that has developed. They did get delivered an awful schedule to start and I wouldn't be surprised if they are competitive for the rest of the games now and finish with even as many as 6 wins which would cool some pressure. But the organization has done themselves no favors about their decision making on quite a few areas and we have all seen that before and where it heads. Perhaps McBeane is different and patience is needed either way, but the smart moves that were panned in year 1 have transition to many questionable ones in year 2.

Bills in Blue on White on Sunday vs. the Titans

So a lot of miscommunication on helmets here so goes like this: 1960 silver helmets with numbers 1962 switch to white with standing buffalo which see's helmet add minor stripping changes but otherwise the same through 1973 1974 the current rushing buffalo logo is added 1984 helmet color is changed from white to red to help Bills QB Joe Ferguson differentiate between the rest of the divisional opponents which all wore white 2002 helmet receives minor stripping changes as uniforms change to navy. Also Bills propose a new alternate logo which is rejected due to fan backlash (look up 2002 bills proposed logo you can't miss it) 2005-2011 The Bills use throwback uniforms bringing back the standing buffalo and royal blue jerseys. 2011 Bills go back to their classic royal blue look with a white helmet and charging buffalo. 2013 NFL releases one shell rule. Per this rule NFL players are only allowed one helmet which is inspected and cleared by the NFL. Because of this rule and the work needed to alter helmets to other colors it basically eliminates classic favorites like Pat the Patriot, Eagles Kelly Green, Bucs Creamsicle, & Bills Red helmet. Because the Bills are currently able to just swap decals and stickers they are in a pretty strong place uniform wise minus the red helmet. Predict the Score: Titans at Bills
corta765 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
21-10 Titans in a close not high scoring nor exciting game with the Titans scoring late to make the score look bigger. Allen 20-37 235 yds 1 TD 1 INT McCoy 65 yds Clay 5 rec 78 yds Jesus I'm going to the game and if this is the final there isn't enough alcohol to make the game watchable. -
I thought this was a 4-5 win team so truthfully its on schedule. Positives: Defense- Looks about as expected after the first 6 quarters disaster. They seem to have a solid core in the works with Milano, Edmunds, White, Poyer, Hyde, T. Johnson, and Phillips. Add a good pass rusher or two and the defense could be scary. Dabol- The tape has showed he has tried his best to scheme with a ball of yarn and not much else. The all 22 tape shows so real creativity we just don't have the parts or QB to execute it. Negatives: Offense- The Bills seem so content being a offense from the 1970's with the talent they have it blows my mind. Every piece of the offense outside of Dawkins and maybe Ducasse is a train wreck. McCoy can't run, we never can pass for any true yards, there are no WR's, etc.. its awful Allen- The kid is in a no win situation with no much to work with. They should've brought in a vet like Keenum or Bridgewater to start so he can learn because he is making the same mistakes as college and against GB single handily held everything back with his play. Obviously he is a long term project and like I said he has nothing to work with WR wise, but he is as boom or bust as they have said with not enough boom and no consistency to really see. Beane- It's great to have cap and picks to work with but you have to have something to build to add to. The offense has literally nothing minus two o-line man. Beane could've been a bit more aggressive to add a WR and an O-line man so things were more stable plus a true veteran QB. FA Signings/Trades- Davis money could've been used towards the offense, Star has been a disappointment, and in general outside of Hyde/Poyer they really haven't had much success adding players like Jordan Matthews or Benjamin. Overall Plan- I liked that they wanted to draft a QB finally, BUT then a guy that needed time was thrown to the wolves with no support. We will truthfully learn not much this year to judge Allen because we need to see him with weapons and support. It's a growing year in a sense but a wasted one that we have to pass the buck another year or two more to see if he is real. If he isn't for real we wasted time we could've got a replacement. Perhaps Beane's plan to hit ground zero with cap will work long term, but the team has become a joke nationally for how they approached everything at QB and offense.

Colts game is more 50/50. Luck while not right is better then league average and can do enough. More importantly their D has played quite solid and have a super stud rookie LB of their own in Darius Leonard. They are well coached too, this game is far from the gimme I think many predict it to be. Not saying Bills can't win they should have a good shot but I see more 50/50.

Predict the score: Bills at Vikings
corta765 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Vikings 24 Bills 17 Bills shock everyone running out to a 10-0 lead only for Minnesota to come back with 24 unanswered. Allen and the offense score early 4th to make it a 7 pt ball game and get one last drive which he is picked trying to tie. Allen: 21-36 303yds 2 TDs 1 INT Murphy: 50 yds rush 36 rec Benjamin: 85 yds 5 rec 1 TD -
Philip Rivers: A Sobering Warning
corta765 replied to Jerome007's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Truth is this though. Rivers lack of success comes down to a team never being truly put around him which stems to how cheap ownership is there. As long as your owner isn't Dan Snyder in terms of interference, if they will pay players and do their best to acquire talent you shouldn't have an issue like Rivers does with the Chargers. The Chargers frugalness stems literal their entire existence. -

Yea this mirror's my experience. The opener is always a mad house even in the worst years, but if you leave by 12:15 your generally fine then and any other game its no issue. Back in the dark ages (2009-2011) I remember we would tailgate until 12:45-12:50 and usually miss a few minuets early in the season and by the end of the season you waltzed through. Overall I have thought the fans experience has improved tenfold since I regularly started going 10 years ago. The concessions and beer lines typically are not bad, bathrooms have been improved, and getting in to the game hasn't been as bad.

He is without a doubt the finest Bills reporter the area has. He calls a spade a spade but like you said he doesn't go off into negativity the way some reporters will where it feels like the criticism is to a point of unnecessary. I kinda expected this season to be a 3-5 win season. Literally the only reason I had any hope was because last year I thought the same and they proved me wrong. This is probably the lowest my expectations have been since the 2010 year where winning games felt like an accomplishment forget the playoffs. I'm OK with this and just hope in the offseason they can really bolster the offense as a whole.

Why Can't the Bills Fall on a Loose Ball?
corta765 replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Remember how last year it seemed like every turnover we got? Well the NFL has a thing called fumble luck, Bill Barnwell from ESPN highlights it big time. Buffalo won an insane amount of turnovers that happened to come in really key situations many times. There is a regression back to the mean when that happens which the Bills are seeing. Yesterday there was a batted pass that fluttered sky high which we just missed picking. Last year we got that pass. Hate to say it but it really is a luck this and as the first two games have shown we haven't been able to get the bounces at crucial occasions or any occasions. -
I mean there is a difference between actually analyzing something and watching highlights going just off those impressions. Cover 1 did a great breakdown and did criticize some of Daboll. They also did though make valid points that the offense was more hamstrung by NP then anything else and it had chances. That doesn't take away from Warner not being wrong that on first impression they were bad and looked lost nor the fact he's a HOF QB with some good insight. It's two very different perspectives looking at the game from much different lenses. Warner isn't paid to go as in depth as some of the stat guys.
