  1. 2019 Bills based off players currently on roster: Offense QB: Allen (Need true backup like bringing Fitz in for another go or someone who can actually move the offense a bit) RB: McCoy, Ivory & Murphy (Wouldn't be surprised if they draft a guy here, but not trading Shady tells you about their intentions for next year) WR: Zay Jones (Remake this from the fires below. Seriously need WR1, WR3, WR4. I think Zay can be WR 2 now especially with teams running 3 wide putting an emphasis on having a bunch of guys) OL: Dawkins, Teller, Bodine, & Ducasse (Need minimum G and new RT, two guards would be preferable plus possibly another center) TE: Croom & Thomas (Late draft pick on a guy or in FA. I think they give both of these guys a true chance) Defense DL: Star, H. Phillips, J. Phillips, (I could see them drafting Oliver if he is there otherwise sign solid DT for depth) DE: Hughes, Yarbough, & Murphy (Draft Bosa if he is there or sign best pass rusher possible) LB: Milano, Edmunds, Alexander, Humber, & Stanford (Need solid vet to rotate with Zo and for depth) CB: Tre White, T. Johnson, Lewis, & Pits (need CB2) SAF: Poyer, Hyde, Bush, & Neal (set no change) ST Kicker: Hauschka Punter: Schmidt or Borq Overall the defense basically needs a DE, DL, possibly CB2 and then just some depth. It is more or less pretty well set and young. The offense has about 5 starters out of 11 and needs 6 starters big time.
  2. The 6 TD was kind of perfect situation. Trubisky started with good field position a bunch, had a good day, and played a Bucs defense I routinely pick QBs in fantasy to play against because they are so porous. Trubisky played well and not taking that away from him, but it was a very circumstantial type game in my eyes not standard for him early on.
  3. So the Bears offense as many have said they do a lot of motion to try and confuse defenses but once the play starts its very straightforward. When the plays go as scripted they can have success as Nagy has shown this season and previously with KC. The key though is just to not buy into motion and not over pursue out of your lanes. Trubisky really struggles if their are tight windows and he can't move around. Like others have said spy him heavily and just play frankly the way the defense has was a their scheme being straightforward. Their defense is really good although Mack's ankle helps a bit and their secondary is not a strength the way ours is. As others have said this could be a game similar to the Titans where its a tight slugfest. Unfortunately not having Allen whose mobility allowed the Bills to get a few mismatches or chances for him to run will probably be the difference in my eyes.
  4. I think this was more of a money decision then QB although that had an indirect role. Brown is betting that this off-season he will make more then he would've signing in Buffalo for 3 years and he most likely will. I think had Buffalo paid 9 million he probably comes here, but Flacco for 1 year offered better chance for more $ then the 7 million for 3 years. The Bills will probably have to overpay if they have any hope of getting some WR's with true talent given the current situation. They absolutely can get players but they need to be willing to spend the money.
  5. I can tell you from a well connected source (not dunkirk don lol) that UB has been frustrated with the Bills because they take so much attention from their team and had the team moved the amount of money that would've been pumped in to push UB as the football team of WNY would've been ginormous. Obviously they are still trying hard and once the Pegula's bought the team it became a mute point for UB to think super big, but it is an interesting other universe question of how UB's football team which is dominating currently would be received and how it would've been promoted.
  6. Yea you can't pass up game changers like that so I agree. But then after heavy O
  7. Did you read the post at all where it specifically says with no regard to it actually happening just who you would want to see? I am clearly aware that if the team gets a TNF game that would be amazing at this point for next season.
  8. The Bills show on WGR today had Peter King on who talked about how amazing Buffalo is for night games and that there should be a game every year in Buffalo. So if we were to have a night game in 2019 who would you want to see. (mind you this is not a poll on whether we should have a game, why the team sucks and doesn't deserve a game etc...) For my money I would love to see the Bills host Philadelphia I think that would be pretty electric. I truthfully think if we get a MNF game again it would be against Baltimore or the Jets with a resurgent Darnold led offense vs Allen and a Bills resurgent led offense.
  9. Better then being known for snow like always lol
  10. Agreed ,this year with Allen is all trial and error and any experience is good. Next year though he has to show true progress with hopefully improved weapons/line and the offense needs to be more in the middle.
  11. BOYS WERE BRINGING THE WISHBONE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. You mean like last year when they lost to the Phins on MNF after putting up 41 33 35 and 23? Not saying at all its happening my money is full NE but the past games have zero impact on present outcome nor do they guarantee what should happen.
  13. Sooo 20-3 again is what your saying haha Your thinking of 2009, 2015 was the last time we played them on MNF I actually considered and at one point wanted to go to this. Thankfully ticket prices scared me off in July and then the season started cementing no reason to attend this at all.
  14. This will not happen. Whether people want to admit or not the biggest issue the Bills have had is lack of congruity. The plan in the owners eyes is at minimum 4 years if not 5. When you turnover coaching and football operations that much it wrecks everything. It will look like this: 2017 Year 1 Analysis: McBeane sees their roster both good and bad tries building culture team lucks a bit into the playoffs 9-8 2018 Year 2 Teardown: Full blown tear down while finishing the defense for what it needs to try and be somewhat competitive in games. Goal is to reset everything from cap to draft picks while adding a QB you hope to be franchise. 4-12 maybe 5-11 because they have a habit at home of winning games they shouldn't 2019 Year 3 New Base Sets: Next year they should add a lot to the offense and Allen hopefully takes a step up to be competent where he at least isn't a problem even if he isn't the full solution yet. They need to be 8 wins minimum and be at least on the door step of the playoffs if not in 2020 Year 4 Contend: At this point Brady should be gone dead or aged and the team should be curated into the group they want. Division title and 11-5 I would expect to be their bar at that point. Anything less and McD will come under fire. The earliest I think you see any chance McD is gone is the end of 2020 if they are not in the playoffs. Even then I really think the Pegula's have backed away from massive changes routinely and have moved into more of a long term patient approach. Additionally if McD has the team right on the cusp in 2020 even if he misses I still think he is safe for two more years. He does have a playoff birth under his belt regardless of how it happens and how people want to discredit him. That will matter to the ownership.
  15. There is no final straw I love watching regardless of product. BUT yesterday we were all cheering for Peterman to go in after Anderson's 2nd INT to see how much worse it could get and on the 3rd INT we were all pulling for the Colts to get a TD. Yea I've hit that point of just lose for draft reasons and if they win its like a nice surprise.
  16. I give you kudos for admitting it. In the time leading up to the season I predict the Bills 6-10 and said they'd miss Taylor just because he was at least safe with the ball. People ridiculed and ripped it thinking it couldn't get worse. Well it can. Remember Taylor at QB they probably beat the Texans and yesterday its more like a 20-5 loss. I had no issue with the Bills wanting to be aggressive at QB and going for Allen it was frankly refreshing. I maybe would've kept Taylor for Allen to sit behind but I understood their logic. Whats annoying is people jumping off the deep end with Beane and McD. Don't get me wrong they deserve criticism and justly for the teams performance. I have said Beane failed by not being more aggressive for a WR this offseason or bringing in a more established vet at QB. McD's love affair with Peterman has hurt them twice. But the long view is the team needed a true reset. 95% of the time reset's where you move out bad money and restock hurt like hell. The defense is a good unit and set for a good number of years. The offense is going to be a work in progress and you may not see what its suppose to truly be until 2020. They should be playoff competitive next season anything less and yea bring the torches to put the pressure on.
  17. There is legitimate pressure on IND to win after a bunch of close loses and then the Jets loss. On the other hand the Bills are a hot mess with a great D SOO: 24-10 Colts Defense keeps it close until late Luck gets a late TD to distance IND. Offense is marginally better but not much leaving a lot of opportunities out there. Anderson: 202 yds 13-21 McCoy: 95 yds 1 TD WR: Benjamin 85 yds 6 rec
  18. Your stories would actually be quite fun to hear in an open setting. My uncle went to games at War as a kid and his seat was half blocked by a support beam but his dad got a good deal. He said the players knew if the game got bad the fans would throw bottles at them. Pretty funny stuff.
  19. We have found the oldest poster on 2BD
  20. I would love to draft Top 3, but mark my words they win somewhere between 4-6 games and force us to the fringe of top 10 or just in.
  21. It's not so much JAX isn't viable its that London is farrrr more $. Think St. Louis vs LA when that happened. St. Louis had agreed to a brand new beautiful waterfront stadium and the NFL/Rams still said no preferring a privately funded LA stadium because the $ implications were far greater. Market loyalty is a fallacy in the NFL it is simply about the $ and maximizing it.
  22. Too bad we don't wear all blue and they wear all red. I can guarantee neither team would have issue seeing whose on whose team. Serious question how old were you when you started watching? Typically people will hearken for what they grew up with and as a 90s kid myself I certainly liked the red helmets and look a ton its why my main jersey now is a Kelly 90s style one. That said I actually think their current look is the best and offers a lot of different combos to work with along with the throwback AFL unis. I know a lot of my older family who grew up with the standing Buffalo prefers that for instance.
  23. Oh I hear you and someone mentioned the Bills will probably beat JAX or CHI if not both because they have a habit of doing so. My layout was just most logical/probable if they end up making a run. Bills schedule is rated 30th SOS wise. ESPN's power rankings broke down each teams SOS.
  24. The point of this is not what I think will happen IE why I said at the top I see them winning 4-6 games. The point is what the most probable path is IF it actually happens.
  25. Remember KC/LAC CIN/BAL all have to play each other and the schedule will balance out some W/Ls as we go.
