  1. I would actually prefer Bradford to Smith or most of the other vet names usually mentioned. I feel like he’s had bad luck with both injuries and situations. I understand that this is a minority opinion.
  2. That’s like saying that it was pretty amazing to watch the Death Star vaporize Aldaran, or that it’s cool to see the house win in Vegas, or that the members of the Cobra Kai dojo are actually really skilled and formidable.
  3. I’ve been steeling myself for a Pats win since they got Gilmore and Cooks. That said, defense does win championships more often than not. The matchups may be more intriguing than we think. And if they do win, what’s the difference? 5 or 6 - they have bragging rights for a lifetime. I’ll rest easier regardless knowing that Brady is near the end of his run.
  4. The Patriots have eclipsed all other hatred. I don’t even really hate the fins and jets anymore. I commiserate with them.
  5. I’d be very happy with Rudolph. All qb’s are risky ultimately, but he is a first round talent. Not even sure if he’ll make it to us. But I like the idea of staying put and taking the best available at that spot. After Darnold and Rosen, there is a dropoff and pros/cons kind of balance out for the next tier. Just depends on what they value.
  6. The Pats have ruined football. I swear, people always blame the protests for falling ratings - but I think the biggest culprit is Patriots fatigue. Just look at some responses on this thread alone. Too long for any sports dynasty. Glad they traded Jimmy at least. It gives them a shelf life of 2-3 more years tops. Then our long national nightmare will be over.
  7. Football is as close to crack as I’ll get. I’ll watch every minute. I’ll do the usual rooting for whoever is playing the Pats. But there are some great matchups. Saints vs. Minny should be exciting.
  8. The AFCE is about to be wide open, thanks to the Jimmy G trade. Bills are loaded with picks and have money to spend. I think Bean actually knows what he’s doing. We won’t regress. The Bills are the next power in the east.
  9. What a ridiculous statement. I like him on PTI, but I still remember that MNF game he called for us when he brought up wide right about a dozen times. Every time we got close to FG range.
  10. If we have a great draft and get a few key fa’s, I could see us contending for the AFCE next year. Even with a QB like Smith as a stopgap.
  11. I wasn’t really discouraged by the 5 pick game. I was MUCH more discouraged by that throw. It just floated over there.
  12. It’s not conclusive, but as others have stated, be consistent nfl. We’re owed next year.
  13. I think trusting the process is an unconditional thing. You can’t only trust what you believe. I’m all in on McD and Bean. Until I’m not.
  14. Well, don’t get me wrong. I’ll be pulling for the Steelers in that game - if it happens - as hard as the most committed Pitt fan. It’s not without precedent. Manning had to overcome a ton of Pats demons for that comeback win in the 2006 AFCCG
  15. Ben threw 5 picks in that game - he was playing poorly at that time. I doubt this game is close. NE owns Pitt under Brady. Pitt needed home field to have a shot. The Pats are deeper into their heads than even the Bills. The Steelers are terrified to go up there to try to get a win.
  16. I think the Steelers get past the Jags pretty easily. But if they make it through the 1st quarter in New England without curling up in the fetal position and whimpering uncontrollably, I’ll be surprised.
  17. We should prepare now: unless Brady gets hurt, they’re getting #6. I almost feel like I have to go through a month long dentist appointment. The only team I can see challenging them is the Saints. Payton and Brees have the experience. BB and Brady will toy with every other team.
  18. Today gave me great faith in McDermott. That was a well-prepared, very disciplined team out there. When we add some talent and depth, we WILL take over control of the AFCE. We finally found a real coach.
  19. Smith is so uninspiring. I get that we need to move on, but he and Taylor aren’t worlds apart.
  20. No - but I thought Schmidt had one of his worst games in awhile. In a game like today’s, that made a difference.
  21. I hate that some deride him. He is a tough dude and gave his all today. He may not be the guy going forward, but we didn’t lose because of him today. He has only ever worked hard and given his all.
  22. Out coached? No one gave the Bills a shot today. It’s a bad thread. It happens.
  23. Scoreless tie. You take the points. Every coach does there.
