Zay Jones +/- first 100 Yard Game
Success replied to RocCityRoller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Comeback story of the year, imo. And quickly becoming one of my favorite players. He’s not a #1, but I could see him as a great #2 for years to come. -
I’m just not someone who errs on the side of caution because I’m afraid of disappointment. If I get my hopes up and they’re dashed, the sun still rises. It’s fine. Ergo, my hopes are up. Way up. I love what I’ve seen from Allen. With no line, no running game and few weapons, he was about a foot away from a comeback victory on the road against Miami. His arm is a lightning bolt. He’s a pure competitor and has a ton of grit and determination. Seems like a natural leader. Haven’t been this excited since Kelly came back from the USFL and was introduced against the Jets in the season opener. So, there you go. That’s where I am.

OK. I'll Say It-Allen will be best Bills QB ever
Success replied to beacon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’ll one up it. He wins 4 Superbowls to even up our record. -
Think about the game yesterday. 18-33. After a 1-6 start. The last 2 passes should have been catches. There were at least 2 other easy drops. There was the bomb to Foster that missed by a foot, and a Hail Mary. People only bring up accuracy with Allen because it was in scouting reports they googled on draft day.

Do Bills fans have a napoleon complex?
Success replied to BuffaloBud420's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The anti-Allen crew is what might be commonly referred to as a vocal minority. I think most fans have boarded the train. -
I wish I could remember...it was awhile ago. He really broke it all down. It eased a lot of my fears about accuracy, and also emphasized how important context is. It’s late and I’m beat, but I’ll see if I can find it tomorrow. I really knew zilch about Allen in college, but I love how he’s playing for us so far. Obviously he has a ways to go, but he has intangibles you can’t teach. He has that competitive fire that you want in your QB.

There was a great article online from an ex coach who watched Allen his whole college career. Allen’s college accuracy had a lot to do with the offense they ran, at least in his opinion. They didn’t have the kind of athleticism and blocking that you need for screens and the short pass game, so they leaned a lot in Allen’s big arm and the long game. I don’t see this wild inaccuracy that many point to. He was 18-33 after a 1-6 start, and I practically lost track of the drops. Both of his final passes should have been catches, and he had another that was a Hail Mary. The Foster bomb was a thing if beauty that was just a foot too long. Did you watch the game tonight? Both Rivers and Ben had their share of wild ones. Every QB does, but Allen’s are more scrutinized because they reinforce a fear that fans here had on draft day, based mainly in scouting reports.

Tebow’s release was a major problem, also. He had a big wind-up. Allen’s accuracy improved over the course of the game today. I think it’s probable that it increases over his career- particularly if he doesn’t have to run for his life every play and gets a few more legit receivers to throw to. It’s not like QBs have never improved their accuracy.

Anyone have a video of Allen overthrowing foster?

Allen = excitement. I feel like anything can happen when he’s playing. That arm is electric. Pretty stark contrast to the rest of the season, though Barkley was good. -
Zay Jones - Coming Around Nicely
Success replied to PolishPrince's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has become a rock solid #2, imo. And a true playmaker. Finally, a receiver getting separation. -
If Allen makes that throw, there are 5 immediate “nfl qbs make that throw every time” posts

He’s a solid coach. I was hoping for genius, but I’m pretty sure he isn’t that. He still does head scratching things every game - like not kicking at the end of the half. But most coaches are like that. There aren’t many geniuses. It seems like lately that he is at least gameplanning well, and the players are motivated. That works for me.

Scouting reports are valuable, but peopke read way too much into them. Every QB has a few wild throws. Because the reports on Allen talk about inaccuracy, when he has a wild throw, it gets more focus. Did you watch Wyoming’s offense. A much higher rate of long balls than the ncaa average. They didn’t throw a lot of screens and slants. Allen was bad in the 1st quarter, but his accuracy was very good after that.

Dolphins 21 Bills 17 Postgame Thread
Success replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He got better and better as the game went on. Better than starting hot and fizzling out. At least to me. -
No running game, a poor line and a receiving corps that features mainly a 2nd year guy who was terrible last year. I feel like fans here need to watch other games. Granted. I watch too many - but there aren’t a lot of QBs hitting nearly every pass, every game.

Allen's Last Pass (12/2): Bad Pass or Drop?
Success replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With the time he has, that was a good throw. I’m watching Brady camp in the pocket every time he drops back - what a difference. -
We need some bills fans to become refs
Success replied to BakersBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While we’re at it, hire a few for the red zone channel. They’ll show 10 minutes of the Rams at midfield rather than cutting to the Bills inside the 10. -
Are the exact words I want to hear in 2030 from a commentator, followed by “the most prolific tandem in nfl history”

Second loss while allowing less than 200 yards...
Success replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At least the offense doesn’t look anemic anymore. -
Allen was amazing. Can’t believe all of the “but this and that pass weren’t perfect” stuff.
