  1. Man, that 9 minute drive the Giants had to start the 2nd half probably took a few years off my life. Seemed like endless 3rd down conversions and missed tackles. And we had so much momentum going into the half. That drive decided the game. Belichick’s defensive game plan is in the HOF, but he didn’t have to do much with Kelly on the sideline.
  2. I read that B.B. would also have his defenders “accidentally” kick the ball at the LOS to slow us down.
  3. I wholeheartedly disagree with putting Norwood on this list. He was a great kicker for that team - accurate and clutch. They could have gotten a longer kicker, but sacrificed accuracy. Never should have come to that. Bills were the much better team in that game and should have won going away. But they were a little overconfident and partied too much.
  4. Just a side note, but I rewatched the 2nd half, and the look on both B.B. and Gronk’s faces after Brady fumbled are wonderful.
  5. This guy is so overrated anyway. I can’t wait until he is HC for the Pats. It will be fun to flip the script and start sweeping them every year.
  6. He’s really making a mistake. Whoever follows BB in NE is likely destined to fail. He could have forged his own path, with a good and still young QB in Luck.
  7. BB is beyond reproach, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t blow it once in awhile. It was the same when he sat Welker and they ended up losing to the Jets.
  8. Still feels great. It actually does feel like the end this time, or pretty close to it. Maybe they have one last hurrah, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they missed the playoffs next year. They pulled out so many close ones this past season. I bet they have a harder time in the FA market after what happened with Butler.
  9. Both catches should have stood. The 1st was close, but there wasn’t enough to overturn the call on the field. The moment the ball moved was actually pretty simultaneous with his 2nd foot touching the ground. The 2nd was clearly a touchdown. He was a runner. If he lost it, it would have been a fumble. It really is great karma that the Pats had those go their way all season.
  10. So many of those 3rd down plays - you have to think Butler would have stopped one. That missed tackle on Aghelor jumps out, but there were a lot of plays where tacklers came up small.
  11. That Wells report was flimsy. I really don’t know if Brady is guilty of even that. But we wouldn’t really care if it was another QB - it’s just a small fine. We have seen what he can do way too much as Bills fans. He’s great, and it isn’t because he cheats
  12. It’s funny - Pats fans usually can’t stand him. I think he’s usually good and like he and Michaels in general. He had a bad night, though.
  13. Gotta believe this changed the outcome. Even though he had a down year, he made plays in every Pats game I saw. Great tackler. In a game that tight, one play could have swung it.
  14. This is why you were banned from the last board. Not just because you like the Pats. Great to watch your team lose yesterday. Even better to see all of the discord and defections. Enjoy the dvd’s. Our time is still ahead of us.
  15. He’s a great tackler - all they really needed was one more stop. Glad we’ll never know.
  16. We need a decade or 2 to go by. I used to try to diminish Marino, too. It’s much easier to acknowledge how great he was now.
  17. That’s a great point. Pippen’s Bulls had 54 wins when Jordan took his baseball break, and almost made the finals. Lebron and Manning both carried some otherwise mediocre teams to great heights...
  18. I love Manning and argued him as the best for years. I hate when people say Brady is the best because of the superbowls. Brady played under the greatest coach, and for a much more well run organization. It’s eye test for me. Regular season, Manning was a comeback machine, and very clutch. While I don’t think he was a “choker” postseason, he definitely wasn’t as good, and there were a few big moments where he seemed to shrink - almost like he didn’t want to be there. By contrast, Brady seems to live for those moments in the biggest stage. Ice water in the veins. It’s a pretty rare quality in athletes, and the only guy I’d put on that level is Jordan. Manning is more like Lebron. Amazing and both more clutch than they are given credit for, but they also have disappeared at key times.
  19. You know why he’s the GOAT? Because while many won’t admit it, they were completely nervous when he had just over a minute with no timeouts, and had to go 92 yards AND get a 2 point conversion.
  20. I agree - MJ is still the best. But Skip’s reasoning is dumb, imo.
  21. It’s Skip Bayless’ big argument against Lebron. Like it’s a bad thing for him to make the finals every year. We shouldn’t be like Skip.
  22. I don’t agree at all. 500 yards, 3 TD’s - They did not punt. 5-3 in Superbowls. That’s actually ridiculous. His legacy is the same - GOAT
  23. I’d still call him a tough player - physically and mentally. I don’t think he would have had a harder time in Montana’s era
  24. He did. Kind of a poor sport when he loses.
