Josh Allen’s Adjusted Completion Percentage = 72.7%
Success replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only reason we obsess over this is because it was the biggest concern coming out of college. Allen takes a lot of shots downfield, which I love. Looking at his whole game yesterday, even the majority of his throws that weren’t caught or dropped were crisp and pretty well placed, with only a few exceptions. The eye eye test may be silly in other areas, but I’m good with it here. He threw the ball well yesterday. I saw an NFL quarterback who had command of his throws. By contrast, GOAT Brady sailed his last 4 passes in the red zone, and threw a rookie pick that probably turned the game. -
Bills fall from 6th to 10th in Draft Order

I can’t relate to preferring a slightly higher draft pick over beating the Pats at Gillette and likely wrecking a bye week and any hope they’d have in the playoffs. -
Brady and Belichick Deserve to Go Out On Top

The cheating stuff has never bothered me. I just can’t stand that team. I hope they they go out with an embarrassing blowout loss. -
Has the light finally gone on for Zay Jones?

That’s not an unfair assessment. He still has a lot to prove - I think the skill set is there. -

Zay will make a lot of good plays for the Bills over the years. He’ll also have head scratching drops and mistakes. A good 3 or maybe even 2. The talent is there - much more potential than the usual revolving door of JAGs we bring in. Getting a true #1 will help him. -
Yep. Allen is fiercely competitive, and has that intangible will to win. Seems like every QB should have that, but not many actually do.

The curve for wide receivers used to be 3 years. He made great strides this year, and big plays. And he is our only receiver who consistently gets open. Let’s not write him off just yet.

If Allen throws those last 3 passes, all we’re hearing about is scouting reports

Allen at 80%. I only say that because 8-10 is easy math. -

He’s had about 4 bad plays all year. -

I can’t wait. Millennial Pats fans won’t be able to comprehend it. -

I really like Darnold - he was my favorite coming out of the draft last year. Too bad he’s a Jet. -
Who is Rooting for Miami (sorta)?
Success replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Growing up, I hated Miami like no other team. My loathing for the Pats has gone well beyond that. It says a lot that I am now pulling hard for Miami to win out and take the division. And I don’t know why some give us no chance to win at Gillette. If we had any offense at all in that first game, we win that one handily. -
At minimum, Allen has shown us what the Bills saw in him coming out of college. Some of the raw skills and instincts he has shown are incredibly rare - unlike anything I’ve personally seen before, in terms of the variety of abilities he has. It’s exciting, but so much of it now is how well they develop him and the team they build around him. It has to start with that line. If that isn’t the most clear focus of the offseason, it will be mystifying.

Are the Lions sort of the Bills of the NFC?
Success replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m always surprised when I see someone say they hate the Bills, which isn’t often but does happen. It makes no sense, unless it’s a fan whose team was routinely beaten by Buffalo when we ruled the earth. It’s how I’ll still feel about the Patriots in 20 years. That’s the main difference. The Lions don’t have that. I can’t imagine anyone hating them. -
I’ve never been a “let’s tank” guy, and wanted to win the last 2 games - but in a way, they worked out perfectly. Allen and the team were competitive and got good experience, but we’re still in position to get a real impact player. Things are shaping up well for next year if they can put another good draft together.

I see EJ’s name here and there on this thread. He’s really nothing like EJ - who, as I recall, had “zip code” accuracy. He’s really not like that- all over the field, missing guys left and right. Some of his throws are things of beauty - delivered to the only spot receivers can make a catch. His biggest issue is throwing it too hard, but it’s not like he hasn’t put touch on some balls. He has a few overthrows each game - as every QB does.

Crazy that people are bringing up completion % with as many drops as there have been.
