AFC playoff teams were 4-0 versus NE this season
Success replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Best way to look at it. Everything has been progression so far. I have no reason to believe we don't continue on this trajectory. The Bills should probably be favorites to win the division next year. To paraphrase the late great Prince, tonight I'm gonna party like it's 1989. -
The Celtics are only considered great because they ran up the 'ship tally at a time when the league was half of what it is today. They've only won 1 title in the past 30 years. Sox fans were basically Bills fans for 100 years. I can't rue them their success over the past 2 decades. But that's probably over now.

BB's ego is MASSIVE. I have little doubt that he's ready to cut ties and try to show the world that he can do it w/ Stidham, or anyone. I'm loving it. That team looked terrible yesterday - they're old, and losing a bunch of good players & coaches this offseason. At long last, it seems like they are headed for a lengthy (and hopefully frustrating) rebuild.

Allen out-playing other playoff QBs
Success replied to wiseman3's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It seems like everyone is focused on a handful of bad plays. He didn't throw any picks, and made big plays all day. I have no worries about him or his future. He'll learn & get better.- 131 replies

Allen had some terrible moments, but he is getting WAY too much blame for yesterday, and I've seen too many "melting down" comments, and the "lights were too bright." In case anyone forgot, he overcame the 2 disastrous sacks to lead the team back to a game-tying FG. Then, he led them to a game-winning FG attempt, which a ref took away on a phantom call. He'll get better. As for the Jets, nothing Allen did yesterday came anywhere close to Darnold's "ghosts" game against the Pats.

Lame. Nice of you to drop by for a parting shot on the season, though. At least your team choked yesterday, and it's nice that their run is finally done.

Thank you Bills, You'll Get There......
Success replied to jethro_tull's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yesterday was a 50/50 game, and they fought to the end. It would have been nice to get to next week, but it's extremely doubtful that this team would have gotten through the Chiefs and Ravens on the road to make it to the show. It's something to build on. It feels like baby steps, but we ARE getting there. Allen will be better next year, and so will the team. They need to do better in the regular season & get a bye and at least one home game. That's how you win in the playoffs. -
So now what team are you rooting for?
Success replied to BuffaloButt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As hard as our loss was today - the Saints ended the last 2 seasons in ways that were much more excruciating. And both the Chiefs & Reid have seen their share of coming up short in the worst ways possible. So, either of those teams would be cool. So glad we don't have to see the unholy triumvirate of Kraft, BB and Brady again.... -
McDermott: Josh Allen 'tried to do too much' in loss
Success replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can’t help but feel positive about Allen. As usual, he was a gamer. Big resiliency to rebound from those bad sacks to set up the game tying FG. And he did get us down in position for a game winner, if not for the bogus call on Ford. Some bad plays, too. But he’ll learn and get better. -
Perspective on the loss from 1989 - Ronnie Harmon

He's making a legit historical comparison, to add perspective to the day's events. That's why. -
It would have been better to just get beat. Once you get a 16 point lead against a 2nd tier team, that should be a win. I still can't figure it out. It's hard not to win that game coming out of the half - but we did it. Credit to Watson for making big plays, but we blew it. All we can do is hope they learn from it. Hard way to end the season, for sure.

If I could have had this result in both games at the beginning of the day...would I have taken it? This is what the Pats have done to me. That this is even a question. And the answer is yes.

No one ever said that being a Bills fan would be easy. Nice try, universe. But I'll be back on opening day, optimistic as ever.

50/50 game. We lose a few too many of those. Excited for the future, though. I mean...why not be? Not going to dwell too long on this one since we didn't have a SB caliber team this year, anyway.

Late Ford personal foul call a joke
Success replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Should have at least had a shot to win the game. But, officiating went our way in the 1st quarter. -
Concerned about Watt's brace
Success replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I genuinely dislike it when Gronk gets remembered like this fun frat boy baller. Total thug, who could have really hurt Tre w/ that move. And all because he was so frustrated w/ a jersey pull, up by 3 scores w/ 5 minutes to go in a game. Never forget. I don't care how goofy he is now on TV. -

Bills at Texans Playoff Game, Saturday 4:35 pm
Success replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm insanely back & forth on this game. Changes every 5 minutes. I watched the replay of the Saints/Texans on NFL last night. Texans should have won that game, and looked absolutely amazing. Watson is like Allen w/ the 4th quarter gene. Then, I remember that they only scored 7 in their playoff loss last year. But, they beat the Patriots this year - something the Bills cannot do. Is it 4:30 yet? -
Brady not thinking about possible final game with Pats
Success replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This dynasty started on a Saturday night, and I hope it ends on a Saturday night, in spectacular fashion. People keep thinking that this Pats team can just flip the switch, as they have in the past - but Brady has looked old MOST of the year (Bills game excepted). Would love to see the Titans leave no doubt & erase that team's mystique by really blowing them out.
