When you give away a free 5, you're generally giving away a 1st down. -

Pitt has an excellent pass rush. It's working so far. -

Mostly incidental contact. I'm glad they don't call stuff like that. -

I know Allen is amazing - but whenever they show highlights, he's more amazing than I thought.... -

Oh, no - everyone is picking Buffalo. Except Rodney - thank you Rodney. -

Gotta say say - I love seeing the "Playoff Picture" visuals in mid-December, and seeing the Bills in the 1st column of division winners, and not at the bottom of the last "in the hunt" column.... -
Are the Patriots now the drought-era Bills?
Success replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel like we were saying the same for years. I would agree that BB is the one who will keep them from falling as far as we did - but I'm curious how much longer he sticks around. -
That was totally on my mind last night. It was almost Bledsoe-era Bills - fans wanting to believe a former #1 pick could save the team, and the punter being the best player on the field. Combine that w/ Josh being the best QB from his draft class and the Bills being a D-lineman or 2 away from being a juggernaut, and these are really good times.

I mean, that was deja vu, over & over & over again. The Bills would seem to do just enough to keep us interesting & hoping up until late November or even December - before lowering the inevitable boom. I think the punter is really what got me thinking. He was the best player on the field last night, just like Moorman was for us for years. All I need now is for BB to say "I thought we punted well...." -

It's a cliche - but if it's wrong, I don't ever wanna be right... -

That's conventional wisdom, and I don't necessarily disagree. But I've always thought it was BB that makes them well run - not so much the Krafts, who got a bit lucky w/ him and Brady (yes, they made the moves to get them - but they had no idea they were getting the GOAT's.) BB will be 70 next year. I also don't think he's all that as a GM - he benefitted for many years from Brady taking pay cuts, and also making average players look great. Can he do a rebuild in time to still be coaching when it comes to fruition? And so much comes down to QB. They might get lucky there, or not. They won't have a high draft pick to get one. They might be able to turn a QB like Darnold around, but who knows. I have found it kind of funny on the Pats boards - some of the younger fans say things like, "We have a good young core - all we need to do is add a franchise QB and we're right back on top!", like it's a "just add water" thing. -

The D is getting old, though. I heard Hightower may retire; Chung & the McCourteys are getting up there. There is some question about whether they'll re-sign Gilmore (not their style to overpay for an aging CB). BB is the equalizer, of course. I'm convinced he could take any roster in the league and get to a .500 record at least. He did say at one time that he didn't want to be coaching in this 70's like Levy (or something like that). That's the hope; that he has another season or 2 like this, gets tired of it and heads off to do some fishing. -
It really struck me watching them play tonight: - Huge uncertainty at QB - Good defense & special teams, good RB - All-pro punter - Can't consistently score points - JAG WR corps - Occasional amazing game to give fans hope, but in general maintaining a near-.500 record - Being just good enough to not make the playoffs & avoid the top 10 in the draft It's been weird reading their boards, too - the same playoff possibility conversations we used to have at this point: if x team loses twice, and beats y team, but if y team beats z team, etc. I must say - I'm liking the role reversal.

How about Bass? He's settling in...
Success replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LOVED Hausch, but felt like we had to get to the 25 to have a solid chance. Now, when the Bills are around the 40, I'm like, "okay, at least we've got 3." The man can kick the ball far. -
Feedback from the steelers forum...woah

Not only that - I remember convincing myself that we had found some sort of "hidden gem" in Tuel, especially when we were winning that KC game (just prior to the 100 yard pick 6). -

Even Josh Allen agrees we need a dome... :P
Success replied to Camisado's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The way this team is designed, actually getting playoff games in Buffalo in the worst months of winter could be a BIG negative. We aren't built to run, and as strong as Josh's arm is, it would still put us at a big disadvantage if there was bad weather. I'm all in on the dome. We should hopefully be hosting a lot of playoff games in the years ahead. -
Those kinds of "ifs" are so ridiculous. Yeah, and what about if Davis hangs onto a fairly easy TD catch on the Bills drive before that? People did the same thing w/ the Rams game. "If the Bills didn't get bailed out by that PI call!" Meanwhile, the refs gave the Rams a phantom INT earlier in the game that completely changed momentum. Parcells was right - you are what your record says you are.

2 important games vs Dolphins in a row
Success replied to Artem Lipatov's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's definitely my hope - and they should. But something weird happens to otherwise good teams and good coaches when they play against BB. I'm not happy w/ the Chargers - I feel like they folded and gave the Pats a lot of confidence heading into the final stretch. -

This should be a really fun game. The Steelers certainly don't scare me, but I respect what they've done this season, and both Ben and their defense have been playing well. But it's a game I feel we should win. I don't feel like we're the underdog (though we are). Can't wait. -

I'm actually hoping we can rest a lot of our starters in the final week. Back to back against a division opponent - and needing to win both - would be a negative. It really speaks to what the past 20 years have done to me that I'm still more worried about the Pats catching up to us than the Phins. -
The josh haters are out in force today
Success replied to Sharky7337's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've heard a ton of positive. I even heard Skip's thing (I don't usually tune in), and he was very complimentary - he said he'd still take Baker #1 in that draft, but it was close. Sharpe was saying that Allen would definitely be a #1 now - and would have been had he gone to one of the big power football schools.
