  1. What was your opinion of the Allen pick?
  2. I've never understood the consternation that goes on here on draft day. I feel like everyone looks at the mocks and the "public facing" scouting reports (usually a paragraph) before the draft, and then determines who they think we "should" get based on that. Maybe they'll check some youtube. Sorry - but unless you live & breathe this stuff, and watch hundreds of hours of film of everyone at a given position, you just have to put faith in the braintrust. And this particular braintrust has 100% earned that faith at this point. Usually, when the Bills draft a guy, I'll get to know him by looking up everything I can about him - but I never chime in w/ the "they should have gotten so & so...what are they thinking?" They know more than we do. They get the benefit of the doubt.
  3. Living in Jets & Giants territory is the worst. They used to show the Giants at 4 - but now Jets & Giants always BOTH play at 1. I get 2 games a year, except when the Bills play the NFC East.
  4. Yeah, I don't think coaches really think about the other stuff. If they're healthy, they will play - every game matters. This isn't baseball.
  5. Beane really gets it. His good moves far outweigh any misfires. He may end up being the best GM in Bills history. I don't question anything he does.
  6. And here I thought the Raiders would be our "easy" game coming up....
  7. He's always been very fair about the Bills. Especially for a Boston dude. Too many pundits get trapped by their own prognostications. The Bills will always suck, and Josh Allen is a typical big-armed, overhyped bust-in-waiting. They carry that around like Jacob Marley's chains. Allen could put one 400 yard game up after another for weeks at a time, and it would be a parade of "well, he played a bad team" or "their best corner was out." I like Russilo's pod. Always good football talk.
  8. Seattle's D has given up over 1,000 yards in 2 weeks. Last night, they lost their best pass rusher, and 3 key players in the secondary. When Cam went back to pass, he could have enjoyed a sandwich and a beer before throwing. And half the receivers he connected with had no one around them. In short - we'll see.
  9. He looked great, but man, they could not get ANY pressure on him at all. He was just hanging out back there in the pocket, picking them apart. And on every big gain, it looked like there was no one within 10 feet of the receiver. Seattle's defense struggled tonight. They were down a few key players. I'm more interested to see Cam when he's facing a better rush.
  10. I will always love Fitz - even when he drives me crazy, like he did at times today. He's been good for the league, in his own way. And he gave me one of the best Buffalo wins of the drought, coming back against the Patriots. Really, the only meaningful win we had against them in years. He was spectacular that day, as he can still be at times. Great write-up.
  11. Rewatching some highlights - Cam was great, but he had 10 minutes in the pocket every time, and his receivers were wide open. The Seahawks D lost some key players early in this one. It made a difference. They really got no pressure on Cam at all. Still concerned, but let's see how he does against a D that plays better than that.
  12. It's a bit bittersweet tonight. I love that we're a game out in front - but it is early, and man, that team will NOT go away. They may actually be better off w/ Cam than Brady right now. How ironic is that? This will be a dogfight until the end.
  13. Cam is throwing really well - and their WR corps is middlin' at best. That drive was like a vintage Brady drive.
  14. As long as BB is there, the other team will make an inordinate # of mistakes. It's just the way things are.
  15. I love Metcalf. But now it's like, oh well, we have Diggs....
  16. Toast Gilmore.
  17. Man, just missing throwing a pick 6 then picking up the long 1st would have been SO Patriots. Glad he came up just short.
  18. (sigh) I've seen enough. The Pats are still the Pats. Gonna be a dogfight for the title. I must have done something bad in a previous life.
  19. Man, that is really rough news.
  20. Great list - I'll throw in Oliver. I thought that 1st stop he made on the goal-line stand really set the tone. He was fired up and blasted through the line on that one. The D fed off of that, and that sequence basically won the game as much as any other.
  21. I can't feel good about this - it reminds me too much of so many of the Bills' drought years (and we're certainly not far enough removed for me to think "oh, that's behind us now"), and I know the Jets' misery makes Pats fans happy.
  22. We probably aren't going to have too many comfortable games this season.
  23. It's official: NOT same old Bills.
  24. We could say that both weeks now. It's an issue. We're not putting winnable games away.
  25. Well, we find out now. Same ol' Bills & this one is over. Can the offense pull one out in the 4th? Let's go. Let's get this.
