  1. I thought we got steals w/ both him & Edmunds. Obviously, both are still very young and can emerge as the guys we thought they'd be. But it's been pretty tough sledding to this point.
  2. The weather is ruining my life. For 20 years, we wanted bad weather as an equalizer. I remember mostly sunny, calm days for Pats games. We finally have the better passing game - by a million miles - and we get this....
  3. If the weather was nice tomorrow, I don't think it would be much of a contest. But the Bills big strength is the passing game. That could be neutralized w/ the winds. For 20 years, I wanted bad weather for these Pats games. One of the few things that could give us a chance. We're finally better than them - a LOT better - and they get the luck on that. But, no excuses. The Bills should win this going away. Make a statement against this team that has tormented us that it's all in the past now.
  4. It's a big improvement, though. They were talking about 50 mph gusts a few days ago. No QB can pass downfield at 50 mph. 20 mph isn't great, but it opens up the passing game much more.
  5. That's one huge piece of cheesecake right there. Oliver has been playing well - but here's hoping he has a signature game tomorrow. He can be very disruptive when he's on his game.
  6. For any locals - has the weather forecast downgraded a bit? When I check the websites, it looks like they're now predicting the winds in the teens, with gusts up to 25 mph (about half of what it was a few days ago...)
  7. Not with ranch. Otherwise, sure.
  8. Put 10 on the line. Tre can cover the 3 6th string receivers the Pats have....
  9. Given the way Cam has been throwing, their depleted WR corps and windy forecast, I'd agree w/ this or something like it. With BB, it will probably be something we haven't seen before.
  10. I wish our run defense was better. I feel like we can know they're going to run, and still not be able to stop it. It's been like that in almost every game anyway, and the Pats run well.
  11. With 50 mph gusts, they might not need much help against the passing game. Daboll has to get creative this week to get the ball to our playmakers.
  12. This weekend will be more about the running game, given the weather. But without him, their passing game is really in trouble.
  13. I fully recognize that what has happened to me over the past 20 years is not healthy. It's really not something I ever anticipated experiencing as a sports fan. I knew there would be rivalries and down years, and some level of more "fun" sports hate - but I never anticipated the depth of loathing and true anguish of being so thoroughly owned by one team over such a long period of time. There were some Sundays that felt like an upcoming dentist appointment. And not a routine cleaning - more like root canal. And there was no way of avoiding it. I couldn't just say "I wont' watch the game this year," or "I don't really care about the outcome." The Sundays we played the Patriots some of those years instilled a deep dread...kind of like the "sound of inevitability" when Agent Smith has Neo's head on the railroad tracks. Part of me is a little peeved that the 1st year Brady is gone, and the Bills genuinely have a better team, happens to coincide with a pandemic. But I do feel like this season is the start of the healing. It's important to me that we win on Sunday, but not life or death. I like our chances to at least split w/ them this season, and think that the future is looking bright overall. It's gonna take awhile for me, though.
  14. With our corners a bit banged up, this is probably not as much of an equalizer for the Pats as we think (plus, their secondary is their strength). We need to use Moss more, and get Singletary in space. I'll also be supportive of more designed runs from Allen this game - only this once. Anything but a win is unacceptable. Everyone in the Bills organization must have this attitude. My joy for life is entirely dependent on this.
  15. I thought Moss looked great. I'd love to see more of him in the offense. Singletary should be used in space more - anytime it's more of a run up the middle, it should be Moss. We'll need a good running attack this weekend w/ the weather forecast. Hoping Feliciano plays also, though that feels like a longshot.
  16. It is weird - this kind of weather DOES favor the Pats, at least on paper, for the 1st time in 2 decades. They are much more of a running team this year - and we're not good against the run. Hopefully the forecast changes a bit as the week goes on. This game is an important one for my overall mental health and well being.
  17. Let me know when we can start using "the Patsies" again. I love how Pats fans always say they're not bandwagon, but half of the comments on twitter are some variation of "football is supposed to be fun, and it's not right now...why should I stick with this team?"
  18. There is nothing to fear about the Patriots anymore. Our only hurdle is psychological, after 20 years of domination. But the Bills have the better team, the better QB and the better future.
  19. One thing I never do at the start of the season is go through a schedule and try to pick a W/L record game by game. Teams will generally beat teams they shouldn't beat, and lose to teams they shouldn't lose to. Even with the Jets record, I don't buy that they're some sort of pushover. Darnold is capable of playing very well. The defense is solid, and well coached. It's a division game. Every team has professionals who are paid to play well. The Jets put together a great half of football - they disappeared in the 2nd half, but on any given Sunday they can beat anyone. I was glad to get out of there w/ the W.
  20. A lonely, semi-quarantined nation is now looking to Buffalo. The Patriots tormented this league for 2 decades. The Bills have an opportunity next week to absolutely end it. No questions, no door left open, no doubt. And we SHOULD. The Bills - despite our shortcomings - are the better team. And for the 1st time since the '90's, we have the better QB. This is long past due. Win this game, and put that team in the past.
  21. 6 for 8. That's solid. I loved the emotion after the last kick. He's a young guy - he needs to keep building his confidence.
  22. Pats are a bad team this year. If we lose, it's almost 100% psychological. If we're the team we think we are, we go into this game and it's over by halftime.
  23. I have pictured this day in my dreams. It's even better.
  24. I'm Team Bass all the way. 6 for 8, overcame mistake, won game. It takes time to develop moxie.
