  1. It's been said a lot, but it needs to be said again: that last fumble was clear as day. They had the camera angle - when you freeze that, Poyer's hand is NOT on his back until his knee is off the ground. That was a no brainer call. Thank god I don't have to think about that for years.
  2. When we needed the plays, we got 'em. This is the playoffs. No such thing as style points.
  3. What do you guys think - ONE sack this game? Now's the time.
  4. How about "Footwork" for a Gabe Davis nickname?
  5. I feel like an opening drive TD can practically put this one away. You put the Colts in a different position, and the momentum for the Bills would be off the charts.
  6. When the Colts were on the 3, I was thinking, "man, if I was a Colts fan, this half has gone EXACTLY like I would have wanted." Not no more.
  7. I love that we have that kind of offense. I mean, we were all thinking they COULD do that. That's how good they are. No more of this running on 2nd and 3rd down. Let Josh be Josh.
  8. There is NOT enough evidence there. They cannot overturn.
  9. Big moment here. Championship teams make plays in situations like this.
  10. One silver lining about the drought was never feeling this way in January. I mean, I wouldn't trade it or anything - but it's not a great feeling right now...
  11. I like him, too - but one thing that has really emerged this season is big depth at LB. I think the other guys just bring more versatility to the table.
  12. I would concur. I didn't like seeing this. But even without Beasley, it's a formidable WR corps, especially with Brown back.
  13. Those socks definitely say "billionaire sports team owner." Love it. I'm glad regular fans aren't the only ones w/ these kinds of superstitions. I've been wearing a Yankees shirt, of all things. It started this season & they've won every time I've worn it, so I'm not going to mess around.
  14. I expect the Colts to choose getting the ball first if they win the coin toss. That would be logical given the Bills strength on offense. Not that it's up to me, but I can't decide if it's a good idea to defer or not if the Bills win the toss. Normally, I like it when we defer. It's always nice as the 1st half winds down - no matter how it's gone - to know we start the 2nd w/ the ball. But in this case, I'm having some nightmares about that running game chewing up a huge part of the 1st quarter if the Colts start w/ the ball, and the Bills don't have a chance to put them in any kind of catch-up mode. Any thoughts? Probably doesn't matter too much, I guess. But my mind is like a hamster wheel right now.
  15. Of all the pleasant developments with Allen, his savvy at the line really stands out. That is one thing that MANY QB's just never get - they have a hard time recognizing defenses and adjusting. We've had a few of those over the drought years. He honestly reminds me of P. Manning at the line. He takes his time & surveys everything - you can tell he's evaluating what they're doing. He never feels rushed and he often changes the play. He's especially good recognizing the blitz, and usually puts a little pause in that backs it off somewhat.
  16. Beasley is like the "sure thing"/3rd down guy. He just has that knack for finding space, and he has great hands. He made some spectacular catches this year. If our whole WR corps is healthy, I don't think the Colts can stop us. No disrespect to their D, but they just don't have the secondary to keep up w/ so many good receivers. I'd love to see a day where Bojo is the football equivalent of the Maytag repairman (for you old timers out there).
  17. I don't really have an issue w/ someone picking the Colts. It's a decent upset pick for the weekend. If they execute the kind of gameplan that we expect well (grinding out long drives w/ the run and keeping Allen off the field), they have a very good chance. Of course, as Tyson said, everyone has a plan until they get hit. Or something like that. But to pick them because Josh & McD haven't "done it in the playoffs?" or because they're not used to close games? Pretty thin.
  18. I'm always all in, immediately, on every Bills decision. That probably sounds homer, but my reasoning is that I don't know nearly as much as the people who do this stuff for a living, and I have to trust what they do. Obviously, for 20 years prior to McD, that outlook really didn't pan out. But even during our worst years, the people in charge still knew a lot more than me.
  19. Honestly, I think it helps that Taylor put up 250 last week. You usually don't see anything close to that 2 weeks in a row. Anyone remember one of our last '90's playoff runs, where we put up over 300 yards on the ground? I can't remember the opponent, but they put the Bills on the cover of SI with the headline "Buffalo Stampede." I think the next week, we were pretty much shut down on the ground and lost. I think Oliver has a real breakout game, too. He has been solid all season, but I have a feeling he'll be very disruptive tomorrow and have at least a few tackles for losses.
  20. LOL And here I'm thinking all week, "man, I hope they're not too tight w/ all of the high expectation." I've even heard opposing fans talk about how hard it is to dislike this team. They're just a fun bunch.
  21. That is true. Reich and a few players have all come out and said that there is "no pressure" on them, but once the game starts, you probably don't belong in the NFL if you don't feel the stakes of a playoff game where you either win or you're out.
  22. Man, the Colts are really playing up the "no one believes in us" thing. People are favoring the Bills, for obvious reasons. I haven't seen anyone dismiss their chances. About half of the pundits I've seen think they can keep it close and have at least a chance at the end. Tough 1st round match-up after 13-3, but it's a tough year in the AFC in general. The pressure is definitely on the Bills after last year; it almost feels like our 2nd Super Bowl, where we had more to prove because we lost the 1st. I've seen a lot of people bring up our "meltdown" from last year and how we have to prove we can win in the playoffs. The Colts are just playing w/ house money.
  23. Reich is a very good coach - and I think he knows how to mentally prepare his team for moments exactly like this. He loves the underdog role and will use that, and he's keeping that team loose. I get more freaked out by this match-up with each passing day, but I probably would have done that regardless of opponent. In most other years in the AFC, we probably wouldn't have to face a team of the Colts' caliber until the AFCCG. They are a solid team, top to bottom, and don't give many games away.
  24. Serious question: if you could...would you trade Allen for Mahomes? I wouldn't. Not like it isn't close - but I think Allen will have a better career, and be better overall.
