Allen checks off the final box vs Colts
Success replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm stunned at the # of comments I've seen (not here, but across the internet) talking about a "repeat of the Houston game" and how he "can't stop making boneheaded plays in big games." Allen was spectacular yesterday. It was really his one mistake - and it was basically just a sack. I didn't see it as him trying to play "hero ball" - he was trying to escape the rush, and he very often succeeds at that when he tries. It's part of what makes him so great. He has that Big Ben type of escapability. Why is he called out for that? I watched the other games, and guys like Wilson and Brady were making all kind of mistakes. It's a double-standard, imo.- 28 replies

Keep your head up and stay hungry, Josh

It's tough w/ JA. He really can't make a mistake, or it's a "flashback to Houston." I watched all of the games today. The other QB's all had mental mistakes - it's part of the game. That sack/fumble was really Josh's only genuinely bad moment - out of a whole game where he was otherwise pretty spectacular. -
Bucs/WFTeam Playoff Game- 8:15 EST

Bucs are going to get beat. They're not that good. Brady still bugs me. -
The Knox TD was definitely improvised. It was really remarkable given that - Josh couldn't find any opening, and it seemed like forever that he was trying - he just happened to look up and see Knox. It wasn't even a pass - he just pushed the ball toward him. Allen is always thinking, always aware. Great summary. So happy about Bass. Kickers are so important - we got a good one.

WFT might really be able to pull this off. -
Wow - terrible challenge from McVeigh....

I don't care at all who we play. I feel like this game gave us some valuable lessons. I'd be surprised if the next game was close.

Just perusing twitter and other sites, seems like the national consensus is that we're overrated, got extremely lucky today and can't go far. Good.
-
Gonna be a tough 15 years ahead for him, then.

Anyone know who Nick Wright is, and why he can't stand Josh Allen? Salty AF tweets after the game...

I just flipped a pizza onto my floor - face first, totally unsalvageable. And I don't care at all. As happy as ever.

We got us a kicker.

I think Josh's fumble is getting too much play. Ultimately, this game was entirely on his shoulders. He wasn't getting much help from the running game, or D. That was really his only miscue, the WHOLE game. He was spectacular.

I drank a lot during the game. But ya know what? I think I'm going to keep drinking. What a day.

I mean, how 'bout Davis? The way he toed that sideline, on 2 very crucial catches. Awesome.
-
I'll tell ya - that's the best way to permanently remove a monkey from your back. Wouldn't be quite the same if it was a blowout. Though, I'd probably live longer.
-
Williams looked so good. Sometimes, that's flukey - but I'd still go w/ him.

Great post. I was SO stoked for Bass. And you could tell that was a huge moment for him. And the way Davis toed those sidelines. I just love this team. It feels like so many guys stepped up.

Major shout out to Reich and that Colts team. That is a disciplined, well-coached & motivated bunch. They did everything they could to win that game.
-
Definitely a 'bullet dodge' kind of game. Sometimes, that leads to a big run.

If you're a Bills fan and you are anything from euphoric, you're thinking too much. 25 years. Soak it in. All that matters: we won this game.
