  1. That's like having 2 starting WR corps. I mean, to think back on some of the units we had back in the drought days, when it was JAG city at WR. These are good times.
  2. Trenches! I'm giddy. It's really all about the lines.
  3. I saw a Pats fan expressing the opposite perspective this morning. Other Pats fans on their board were all like "we're having the greatest offseason & draft EVAH!", and one poster said (paraphrasing) "the Bills have hardly done anything - no big FA acquisitions, and their draft has been boring." A smarter Pats fan - they exist - responded saying that comment was exactly how opposing fanbases used to talk about the Pats offseason & draft.
  4. Same, 100%. Beane has a real vision, imo - and he just knows what he's doing. It's great going into these offseasons & drafts having full confidence in the GM and the rest of the Bills braintrust.
  5. I was thrilled when the Bears moved up to get Fields. I think he could have been dangerous w/ the Pats. Mac Jones was kind of the consolation prize for them. I see their fans rationalizing that "he should have gone at #3!", but that was just a smokescreen all along. He's never been pressured in the pocket. I think the chances that he adjusts to real pressure - and the "other" pressure of trying to follow the GOAT - are slim.
  6. Opt out with freakish talent and huge upside. Something seems familiar here...
  7. We really don't need to get any better on offense - we were top 3. Sure, our running game wasn't all that, but it's not like that slowed us down too much. It was tough watching a D that couldn't get pressure on the passer last year. Even during the drought, it was the one thing the Bills were good at. Now, they've addressed that. I mean - Rousseau, Oliver, Epenesa, Basham. A really young, talented crew that could be anchoring a SB-contending defense for years to come. Color me stoked.
  8. KC's offseason moves were geared toward the biggest weakness they had against the Bucs. Our draft has been geared toward the biggest weakness we had against KC. If we could have pressured Mahomes, we could have been in the SB.
  9. Youth movement on the D line. I mean, why not? They're building a line for the future. If they hit on both of these guys, we could be set for years.
  10. Well, we do dive through tables, so....
  11. That's really somethin'. If there's ever a remake of "The Princess Bride..."
  12. I'm good if he runs hot in Sept & Oct, and then cold the rest of the season.
  13. Maybin's big thing was his "quick 1st step." In college, he blew past people at the LOS because of quickness. One trick pony, and without other strengths, he didn't break through in the NFL. It looks like Rousseau has a pretty good arsenal of techniques and tricks - he can bull rush guys, blow by them w/ speed, spin & turn. He has a good motor and stays with a play even if the 1st move doesn't get him there. And just great instincts, from what I saw. I'm sure most here have seen the highlights, but I'd encourage everyone who hasn't to check them out. He's what the defense needs.
  14. What's nice about Jones is that he'll take time. Despite all of the "big moves" they made in FA, it will likely not amount to much for the '21 season - they'll either have Cam, who will be better w/ the new weapons but hardly scary, or a rookie QB who has really never been pressured by an opposing defense. Beyond that, they'll have to go through the same thing we went through w/ new QB's - you really have to invest 2-3 years, regardless. And if they don't pan out, it's wash, rinse, repeat. I was hoping they wouldn't get Garropolo, who could take much more advantage of their new additions if he stayed healthy, and certainly hoping that they wouldn't get Rogers, after yesterday's news.
  15. Conversely, as someone who peruses Patriots boards from time to time, I saw a complete about-face from Pats fans on Jones. Most Pats fans wanted Fields. As soon as Jones was picked, the narrative became "we got the guy who was supposed to go #3 at #15!"
  16. I think we saw the same thing this draft that we always do - 1 great "sure thing" QB, and 3-4 others who got hyped into higher draft positions but who all have big flaws. Maybe 1-2 more pan out, but I don't think Jones is among them. A truly impossible prospect to gauge - incredibly well protected, and with the best receivers in college football to throw to. He has faced no real pressure, and zero adversity. Not worried about him at all. Probably more worried about Wilson, but the Jets have so much more work to do elsewhere to be a legit contender.
  17. Congrats on getting the 5th best QB in the draft. Do you know why his tapes show great pocket presence? He had the best line in football. No one got near him. When a defender occasionally did, he threw off his back foot and his accuracy dropped by double digits. I'm thrilled the Patriots got Jones instead of Fields or Garroppolo. Absolutely thrilled. They'll have to invest at least 2-3 years in him now, and the chances he's "the guy" to replace the GOAT are probably less than 10%.
  18. Just watched the highlight reel, and have no idea what the whole "lucky sacks" thing means. He was handling blockers w/ ease and his instincts on where both the QB & ball are were off the charts.
  19. I see a lot of batted down balls from Mac Jones in the future....
  20. I'm surprised at some of the conclusions already being drawn re: Oliver & Epenesa. Oliver was really hurt last year by Star opting out. We had a light line, and it was easy for offenses to focus on him; he had a lot of double-teams. Epenesa improved throughout the season, imo. He showed some flashes of being an excellent player. I love that we have a youth movement going on the line. These guys COULD be dominant in a year or 2. If they are, we'll be a scary team on both sides of the ball.
  21. Okay, someone just compared him to a young JPP. That's the one I'm going to focus on.
  22. I like how they've been investing so much draft capital in the line. I can see both Epenesa and Oliver taking the next step this season, and if Rousseau can join them in another year or 2, we'll have an excellent young defensive line to complement an offense that is already SB caliber. When you're picking so late, there really aren't sure things; it's almost like a 2nd rounder. I personally tend to like the "high upside" guys, and of course, trust Beane.
  23. Could be rationalizing, but I didn't see the Bills going RB anyway after grabbing Breida. Singletary shouldn't be cut yet, and they are definitely keeping Moss.
  24. The Giants fans' reaction gave me a weird feeling of deja vu....
  25. The Dolphins are improving. I'm not big on that.
