Most intriguing Training Camp competition?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Harry is cut. I'm sure he would get picked up fast. He would provide decent depth for someone. -

At some point, I will get a custom made Mitch Frerotte jersey. I hope I spell his name right when I order it. -
I understand the point of getting tired going up against your teammates. But at the same time, your teammate isn’t going to put extra juice on the hit. The other guy on the other team trying to make the roster will be a little more umpf into it. Unless your teammate is JP Losman or Aaron Maybin….no holding back against them.

I would feel comfortable with Hyde retuning punts. He won’t break one but won’t muff it and understands fair catches….when to use or not use them. Kickoffs, I will predict Stevenson. Not sure. Would someone trade for Butler? Not sure how much value he has. -
Okay. When I'm going to start messaging you when I'm stuck on something! Right now, I'm more comfortable in side control than I am in mount and I hate it. I'm more vulnerable getting swept and a lot of guys just lay and protect the neck. I try to peel an arm down and go for Americana's but if they're strong, it's tough to do. I try high mount but when their elbows are down, it's hard to get through. I can't get deep enough in the collar to put on a good choke. What would you do here? When someone mounts me, I never do this because I always roll like I would in the streets. Obviously in a real fight, you're going to drop elbows and/or punch in you're in mount.

Im turning 40 soon so I’m going to take my time. It’ll take about 10 years for me to get my black belt but fine with it. I’ve learned patience….something I didn’t have when I was younger. What belt are you?

3 stripe blue. I probably would have my purple by now bit I tore a muscle in February and haven’t been able to train much. I’m still in physical therapy. I have more years in stand up. I just started BJJ 3.5 years ago.

You're welcome.

Greatest KO ever in the UFC. This is the crucifix.

Royce was selected to fight in the UFC because he was smaller and younger. They wanted to prove to the world that BJJ is the best martial arts so we'll have our 170 lbs dude tapping out 260 lbs wrestlers like Dan Severn. I rented the first UFC from Blockbuster on VHS. Remember the kickboxer that kicked the sumo guy in the face when he was on the ground and the tooth came flying out?

My BJJ coach is one of the best in the world. He was the first black belt in Georgia. Got his black belt from Pedro Sauer. All the Gracies know him and respect him. This is Royce 3rd time coming to our school. Rener Gracie texts him a lot about BJJ. He was texting him before Brian Ortega fought the Korean Zombie....talking gameplans.

Diaz is a better grappler. Khabib is a better grappler. Poirier is a better grappler. These are the elite high level black belt grapplers. Conor isn't at the elite level they are in....yes. Khabib is a smothering grappler. He pins the legs where you can move then moves into position. He dominated him big time. But Khabib also did it to Gathje and Poirier too. Eddie Alvarez is a high level grappler. Donald Cerrone is a high level grappler. He beat them standing up because on the ground, he's not winning. You know who else is a high level grappler? Roy Nelson. He just never goes to the ground for whatever reason. Same with Wanderlie Silva. They prefer striking. With Poirier, even when he was on his back, he didn't sustain tremendous damage. He did land 2-3 strong elbows but if Conor was garbage, Poirier would have passed his legs easily and moved into mount....but he didn't. Conor was actually able to keep him back....I was very impressed with that.

In two weeks, I get to train with Royce Gracie.

I guess Gilbert Burns, Eddie Bravo and Dillon Danis frauds? What makes you think his BJJ is bad…serious question. He has been submitted twice. Once by the greatest grappler in MMA history. The other by a high level Black Belt after being rocked.
-
@Buffalo716 Wanna hear something cool?
-
Yes, those are BJJ specialists. Conor is more of a stand up fighter. Just because he doesn’t prefer the ground doesn’t mean he’s garbage there. BJJ is not just about submissions. Its your defense, its your body control, its your timing, its the way you cut angles etc…. Im about a year away from my purple belt. The brown belts mop the floor with me as they should….2 of them are 60. If you’re at a legit school, your belt is legit. Conor’s BJJ coach is Dillon Danis, one of the best in the world. If you’re a brown belt under him, you’re legit. https://www.bjjee.com/articles/gilbert-burns-conor-mcgregors-jiu-jitsu-is-very-underrated/

Belts are not overrated lol. When you’re close to a black belt like he is, you’re good. Poirier is a black belt and a better ground fighter but that doesn’t make Conor garbage. Poirier baited him and it worked…but almost got caught. Conors guillotine didn’t just all of a sudden get worse with more training, Poirier is just better at defending it than Conor is at putting it on him.

The DL spots. We have 12 and I think we get it down to 9. I think Johnson, Zimmer and Butler get the axe. Hughes AJ Oliver Obada Addison Butler Rousseau Boogie Zimmer Harry Star Johnson
