I think this applies to most linebackers. If you have a 300+ lineman coming clean, he should win that battle nearly 100% of the time. I think what separates a good linebacker from a bad one is the speed of diagnosing plays. If there is a play to be made, they make it or effect it. Someone like Edmunds, I think was a big missed opportunity linebacker...its why he didn't make a lot of game changing plays.

- QB roughing the passer calls are still terrible at times. - The Jags are not good. Trevor Lawrence doesn't look like he's supposed to after last year. Maybe Kyle Brandt was right? - I think the 49ers are the best team in the NFL right now. - The AFC North seems up for grabs. Ravens might be the unluckiest team. - Have no clue how good the Chiefs actually are. - The NFC North looks like it could overtake as the worst division in football just because the Bears are historically bad. It's between them and the AFC South.

The Steelers have been stuck on a plane for 10 or so hours

This is an example of a non-well timed joke. -
Maybe you treat Tua like you did with Vick. Don't rush up field fast. Stay disciplined to keep him in the pocket to make plays there. But in this case, keep Tua in the pocket but the DL keeps their hands up. He's getting the ball out faster than anyone in the NFL so you don't need to attack him...just make him hold the ball a little longer. I would play a Cover 3 but one safety mans the middle. Two other safeties take away the deep ball. Just like your graph shows....take away the middle. Make him have to float that ball outside.

Well yeah, Edmunds wasn't instinctual like Bernard, it's very apparent. I think the best thing Edmunds was for was making the QB throw a little higher over the middle, block the vision of the QB and actually could go sideline to sideline for a tackle. Overall, Edmunds is a decent linebacker in which his size makes him better than he actually is. Bernard looks like he could be above solid or if he continues to grow....a strong starter?

Dan Orlovsky on the Bills Offense Yesterday

We should be running play action at least 20% more. -
Splash plays aren't needed to be a determent in the passing game. There's a video in the post game day thread where Bernard passed off the WR to White and then took out the other throwing option on the curl to whatever WR was there....that lead to the sack. Taking away throwing lanes where the QB has to hold it for a split second longer is as good as a splash play.

I think what has happened is for several stretches, this offense looks unbelievable...so I think we get spoiled or yearn for that to be all the time. The offense isn't operating at their top peak but that happens. It's better than what we saw in the last 6-8 games last year. There are areas where we need to get better but I'm not going to say the offense doesn't look good.

I read about a study in which they took I believe like 30 women and had make up artist put fake scars on their faces. They then had these woman interview for jobs and told them it was a case study to see if people facial disfigurements were being discriminated against from getting jobs. They showed these women what they looked like in the mirror with the really bad scars. Then before the interview, they told them they needed to do a touch up but actually fixed the scars....but they didn't let the women see the "touch up" so in their minds, they still had the scars. After the interview, most of the women said they were discriminated with in the interview. They sat them down to get their reasons why and they it was the interviewers actions, the way they looked at them, way they phrased the questions etc.... So this study just basically proved that once you have convinced your mind of something, you will look at anything or everything to prove or verify it. It's what a biased mind does.

How many things are we going to take away? So far we have to take away the ENTIRE 2nd half against the Raiders and the entire 4th quarter of the Washington game. Now we have to take away Allen's rushing yards. What's next? "If you take away all the throws to Diggs, our passing game wasn't that good." We weren't perfect but very efficient. Yeah, things could have gone more smoothly but nothing was concerning on offense yesterday.
