One of the problems is that the Bills offense isnt set up for 300 yard passing games for a number of reasons. When Tyrod has a good game, people arent happy because it isnt 300 yards and 3 TD's. The Oline is inconsistent in pass protection so until that changes Taylor will not be sitting in the pocket letting his WR's get down field. People who only grade QB's by how many 300 yard games they have are people who dont know what they are talking about.

I agree that the Bills will not be able to keep up with those teams. Hopefully the Bills defense prevents track meet games. Not sure why everyone keeps complaining about no 300 yard games. The Bills offense is not built for that.

The Bills will play teams that they can impose their run game on and teams they have to take what the defense gives them. Carolina and Denver are take what they give you teams

The problem I see is the Bills have a conservative offense. It can be successful with a good defense and minimal mistakes. We saw this in the Bills running the ball two straight drives to try for field goals instead of touchdowns only coming away with one field goal. It was enough to win but if the defense didnt stop the Broncos it could have gone the other way. I think you try for touchdowns and settle for field goals. Most Bills games will be close games and they dont have the offensive horsepower to put up a lot of points if the defense cant limit high scoring offenses like Falcons, Saints, and Pats

It is frustrating to watch him drop passes he should catch but it isnt like they are hitting him in the chest. He needs to be better securing balls all around his catch radius. He will improve but it is definitely noticeable.

So you are willing to pay Watkins around 13 mil for his 5th yr option, prob mostly guranteed? Then you are going to pay him around 15 mil a season if you cant get a contract worked out? What had Watkins done that earned him this big payday?

No way. The Jets would smash any college team. There is a world of difference between college and NFL. Most players on college teams could not even play in the CFL. Then you have the complex defenses and offenses in the NFL.

I picked Buf in my suicide pool. I always pick non playoff teams earlier on so I have better teams to pick from later on.

There are some differences that I noticed... not as many three and outs, scoring TD's instead of field goals, no bad penalties, Taylor throwing the ball away instead of taking a sack, and the defense looked better. Taylor looked like Taylor. He made some good throws and some bad ones. When he hit Oleary to get them near the goal line, I think it was Clay that was wide open not too far from Oleary that prob would have been 6. All these things would have been glaring if they were settling for field goals. I am not getting my hopes up since it was only one game. Lets see how they do over the next couple games. Low expectations.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I was watching the end of the Atlanta game and if it wasnt for the Bears dropping passes in the end zone, the Falcons would be 0-1.

Thanks for the stats. I think most fans want blow outs and a high octane passing game even though the Bills are not built for that.

Goodwin had a 43% catch rate last season due to a combo of bad passes and drops. That is a low catch rate. I could care less about Watkins, To me he never lived up to expectations.

Yeah I am not sure he even played a full seasons worth of games.

I agree. He caught some long passes for the Bills. It will just depend on how patient Hoyer is.

49ers are getting a look at what they have in Goodwin. Goodwin beats his man, perfect long pass, right through Goodwin's hands for a drop.

If the Bills put a high tender on him then they are guaranteeing him a higher salary when they have cheaper options and may get about the same production. MG is no shady. The Bills OLine opened a lot of holes for MG.

The Bills made the trade knowing it would be a pick near the end of the first round. KC is a good team.

Yes the Oline didnt get any push on the 4th and short. The Oline did open holes on the short TD runs so basically it comes down to the Oline. MG scored the TD's when called on but their other RB's could have done the same.The Oline also opened up a lot of decent holes for all the NE RB's

I think they are looking for depth for Worthy missing games. Williams replacement will probably come in the draft after this season even if Williams plays one more year.

I think the Bills go with Tyrod if he is healthy. Peterman looked good in preseason but the regular season is a different level. The only way Peterman plays this season is because of injury or later in the season if the Bills are out of playoff contention.
