  1. Why would they use the Transition tag? Transition tag means they have the right of first refusal but they get no compensation if they dont match.
  2. I would keep Peterman around. I dont think he is the answer at QB but can serve as a back up. I think he can be a better QB with some protection. He makes some nice throws but then some awful ones too. I would still draft a QB in the first or second and let them battle it out as the #2 while a vet QB starts next season.
  3. The Eagles gave up a ton to get Wentz but they were able to move up to #2 so they knew they were getting a top QB. I think the best the Bills could do would be to move up to #4 in a trade with the Browns. By then both Darnold and Rosen could be off the board. I am sure the GM's have a better feel for which players teams are interested in. There is no way the Bills should move up in the 1st for any players other than Darnold and Rosen....even then it is a gamble. I think the Bills are better off trying to sign Cousins...if that doesnt work then sign a vet QB while drafting one in the first or second round. The Bills have a lot of needs and cannot afford to give up a ton of draft picks in moving up.
  4. I always like Wood and wish him the best. Glad to see he can walk away while he can instead of after a horrific injury.
  5. I didnt see any officials preventing the Jags from completing passes, opening up more holes in the run game, and rushing more than 4 guys in the 2nd half. The officials didnt allow the Pats Dline to sack Bortles. Watching the Jags in the second half was like watching the Bills play.....they couldnt do anything but hope time expires before Brady can throw another TD.
  6. I like his athletic ability and his arm. The problem I see just from watching the highlight video is that most times he isnt reading the field. He seems to be looking for one read or staring where he wants to go with the ball. I dont know anything about their offense but it didnt seem like he was scanning the field much. He may be a good QB in the NFL but I dont think he is worth moving up for.
  7. I cant see the Bill trading up into the top five. That would be too expensive. I can see the Bills trading into pick 10-15 if a player falls that they like.
  8. I could get on the Garropollo man crush thing. My wife is a 49ers fan so we usually watch that game after the Bills. I had to explain who he was when they first traded for him.
  9. Even though there is no way of knowing if he will injure his knee again, he will be susceptible to the same injury again more than other players. Put whatever chances you want on it. I am sure they will have specialists examine him if they are interested but if it happens again, there will be "I told you so" going around. You are right in that the contract can be incentive based but they will still invest time and a roster spot in him. I didnt just stay at a Holiday Inn last night, my wife does knees/hips and was a trainer for a pro team for 10 yrs.
  10. My wife who is an ortho PA specializing in hips and knees is surprised the Vikings brought him back. Said the Bills should stay away. There was no video of the injury but I suspect it looked similar to Zach Millers of the Bears.
  11. I would be ok with Bradford on a two year deal with the Bills drafting a QB in the 1st or 2nd round. Bradford has had injury issues but it doesnt mean it will keep happening......doesnt mean it wont either. Bradford is miles ahead of Taylor as far as being a passer. In a QB friendly system with protection, Bradford can light it up. He set the NFL record for completion percentage with just over 71% for the season in 2016. 9 games that season he threw for over 250 yards. One game almost 400 yards. I would rather have a QB that is comfortable moving around in the pocket and that can throw accurately rather than an elite athlete that will run instead of throwing the ball away. Alex Smith would also be a good choice for two years but he isnt a free agent. I would be ok with the Bills signing Cousins long term but I wouldnt love it.
  12. even though Jones had some drops, his biggest improvement next season will be a different QB throwing him the ball.
  13. The Bills are not going to be able to move up to pick Darnold or Rosen. Since the Browns and Giants are picking. Do you realize how much draft capital you are giving up to move up to get the 4th or 5th best QB that may or may not be able to help this team 3 yrs down the road? The Bills have a lot of holes to fill and need depth through the draft
  14. I think the Bills defense stepped up against the Jags. The Bills offfense did what we know the Bills offense does, score field goals instead of TD's. Do I think the Bills show flashes but they are not good enough. It starts at QB but just about every position group except safety, RB, and CB (if they resign Gaines) could use upgrading. Every position group needs more depth for sure. Look at the Steelers or Pats offensive weapons compared to the Bills. They are in a different class.
  15. I think fans can forget about moving that far up in the draft. The Bills shouldnt give up everything to move up for one player that nobody knows what kind of pro he will be. Even if he is good, the Bills couldnt upgrade anywhere else because they traded away all their picks. I can see the Bills seeing what QB's get past the top ten and if they are going to move up then move up to spots 10-15. It would not cost them a kinds ransom to do so. Also they may only see two QB's worthy of a top 15 pick so they may stay where they are. Between pick 7 of the Bucs and where they Bills pick at 21 there are only two teams that QB would be a need.....Cardinals and Redskins if they lose Cousins. If there was a trade maybe they trade with the Bengals at #12 which could be done for a 1st round pick the following year and a 5th. It all depends on what happens in Free Agency. If the bills sign a Keenum, Bradford, type player then they dont move up at all and see who is there at 21 to groom for a couple years.
  16. I think my biggest problem with Dennison is his route design and conservative play calling. Not sure if it was his WR's not running them right or the desgin. I cant stand to see WR's go a certain distance and turn to wait for the ball. Not many of his routes were designed for YAC. Either that or Taylor didnt hit the WR at the right time in the route. Even in the Jags game I saw multiple Bills WR in the same area. Recipe for disaster. When was the last time you saw Taylor hit a WR on a quick slant or deep post?
  17. I dont like Dennison but you cannot say that Taylor didnt have players to throw to. He made some passes but didnt give his WR's a chance to make a play.
  18. I am not a fan of conservative play calling unless it is warranted. Unfortunately I dont see Dennison going anywhere. Better QB play and more talent at WR would have yielded more offense. Only the coaches and players know for sure exactly what went wrong on the plays. It will be interesting to see what happens.
  19. I think all we have to ask is would Smith have given the Bills a better chance to beat the Panthers, Bengals, and the Jags. I think so. I would trade a 4th or 5th to KC but the Bills need to fill more holes so they need all there picks in the 1-3rd rounds
  20. That is way over paying for Smith. He is in the last year of his deal and they have Mahomes. I think a 4th or 5th round pick can get Smith. He would be a good mentor for what ever QB the Bills draft.
  21. I think trading for Smith or sign him if he is released. I think the trade would work for a 5th round pick. The Chiefs have his replacement that they will want to get on the field. Smith is under contract through 2018 and would be a good mentor if the Bills draft a QB
  22. I am all for taking a QB in the draft but the Bills cannot afford to give up multiple picks to move up into the top ten. The Bills need to add talent and depth to their roster with this draft. There are many positions that can be upgraded.
  23. I wont know what to do with myself if the Bills get it. I am not trained for this situation.
  24. I dont understand the love affair the Bills have with Anderson. He is decent on special teams but why bring him back for one game?
