2018 NFL QB rookie stats to date.....
BillsfanAZ replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with this....I think he is holding on to the ball too long. Not sure if that is because he cant figure out where to go or there is nowhere to go with that ball. I also think Clay and McCoy are horrible at pass protection. The Bills have a hard time picking up blitzes. -
2018 NFL QB rookie stats to date.....

I thought Rosen had some nice throws but I wouldnt say he was exceptional. He was brutal stepping in at the end of the Bears game. I am going to the 49ers/Cards game at the end of the month so I am axious to see how he plays. -
Over the course of the season it may look different but at this point the only QB that I would rather have over Allen is maybe Mayfield but not sure how much better he would do on this team. Rosen made a few good passes yesterday but hasnt shown anything.

So what is the bigger need O-line or WR
BillsfanAZ replied to Kingston Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oline and then WR's closely behind. This could be a two year project. -
Right back in what? I dont think people should have high hopes for winning a lot of games this year. The Bills have some talent but they have too many glaring holes. They might surprise us in a couple games but I think too many people got their hopes up with the Vikings game.

Why does Allen always try to spin to his blindside?
BillsfanAZ replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills Oline cannot pick up a blitz. Clay and McCoy are terrible blockers in pass protection. Allen will either take too long to make a decision or he is quick to panic. The lack of talent at WR is obvious. Nobody was getting separation. On the play that Benjamin got hurt he waived at the ball, he had no desire to catch it because he knew he was going to get hit. -
KB has a big day this Sunday
BillsfanAZ replied to Bronxbomber21's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think his critics are seeing what everyone else is seeing. He is dropping balls and not getting open. -
I Bet $5,000 on Minnesota. Should I Be Worried?
BillsfanAZ replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Win or lose you are betting 5k that your wife doesnt know about. It isnt like you have a 50/50 chance. Your odds suck of winning. I thought the Saints would blow out the Browns but they tied. Any given Sunday. All the Bills have to do is have a good defensive plan to keep the game respectable. What if the Bills pull off a miracle and win? Would you pay 5k for a Bills win? -
Every rookie QB isnt going to look good every game. Darnold looked pretty good after throwing a pick six in week one but he looked mediocre in week 2. In week 2 he threw 2 INT's one of which was almost returned for a TD. He overthrew a wide open WR in the end zone. He had some good throws but there were several balls that were not placed well. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap3000000962896/Every-Sam-Darnold-throw-Week-2

I think the Giants Oline is as bad as the Bills Oline. Eli might not make it to the end of the season. He was getting hammered.

Fumble or Out of Bounds?
BillsfanAZ replied to Houston's #1 Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree....I thought the ball was coming loose. I was suprised it held up. -
Thinking this will be a winning season is a stretch. I am not a negative person just being realistic.....I see the Bills have a top 5 pick in next years draft. I am ok with that as long as I see Allen and Edmunds improve. Not expecting them to be good this season is a relief to my family and dogs because there wont be as much yelling at the TV. So they get a one season reprieve. After this season and a training camp as the starter, I think we will see a much improved Allen next season.....then the reprieve is over and its back to business.

Every throw from Josh Allen’s 1st start
BillsfanAZ replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you are being hyper critical. It was his first start against a good defense. Darnold is considered the more polished QB and he struggled against the Dolphins. Darnold made several nice throws but he also overthrew wide open WR's including one in the endzone for a sure TD. Most of the time he had time in the pocket to make his throws. The picks Darnold threw were from a clean pocket even though Pryor took the blame for one of the INT's. https://nypost.com/2018/09/16/jets-receiver-takes-all-the-blame-for-killer-sam-darnold-int/ -
I dont see any team that would be that desperate for a QB to move up to #1 or 2. Most teams have a QB unless they are going to draft someone to sit behind their aging starter. Never know though.....there may be a QB or a player a team is in love with.
-
Teams that go from mediocre to playoff runs have legit QB's. The Jags had 6 years of drafting in the top five picks. Even up to last year they were picking in the top 5. That was an overhaul. Bortles was border line bust until he progressed and the Jags got him offensive weapons while adding to their defense.

Why does he have to be more forthcoming? It is not his job to explain himself to the media and fans. He doesnt even have to explain himself to the team. Pegulas and Beane only need to know the reasons. Fans dont want to hear "we have to look at the tape" and "I dont need to elaborate" but how many coaches out there really discuss their decisions? He actually does have to look at the tape....he doesnt get the view from the stands or on TV watching the replays....he sees it from the sideline. He wasnt wrong in playing Peterman. Most people thought he should start by the way he was playing in camp and preseason. He sucked and he got replaced. McDermott isnt going to critique Peterman to the media. We as fans are not entitled to know why all decisions are made.

The Organizational Incompetence of the Buffalo Bills
BillsfanAZ replied to CamboBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes the Oline is bad. No the Bills should not have passed on Edmonds and Phillips to get less talented Olineman. Allen and Edmonds were rated in the top ten over all. If you can get a top ten pick at 16 you do it. There are things the Bills can do scheme wise to help the Oline. Every QB is different. Ever since that story came out about Harrington everyone thinks Allen is going to be the same type of player. Nobody on this site knows anything about Allen's mental make up so why are you jumping to conclusions that he cant handle it and the Bills will be drafting another QB next year......I hope you were kidding because aside from Allen suffering a career ending injury the Bills will not be drafting a QB next season. If they did, McBeane would be looking for new jobs right after the draft. They will sign a vet back up which they should have done this offseason. It may take a game or two for things to slow down for Allen. What if the Bills defense shows up and Allen does just enough to pull out a win in the next game or two? I think the Bills backing into the playoffs last year has heightened expectations of fans this season when they should be managed. Too many people are expecting to win now when the Bills are most likely a year or two away from hopefully being a contender. -
They need to play Allen. He has to have the mental make up to take a beating while still remaining confident and learn. Allen at least made some plays yesterday and should have had a TD that Benjamin dropped. I would rather see Allen make his mistakes now when the rest of the team looks awful as well.

Judging Beane’s decisions so far
BillsfanAZ replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont think that is true. Right after the draft there were reports that AZ was trying to make a deal to move up for Allen but the Bills could offer more in trade. -
Judging Beane’s decisions so far
BillsfanAZ replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So are you saying the Bills shouldnt have moved up to get two players that were ranked in the top ten overall? Should they have given up their first next year instead of the draft capital this year? You cant move up to get a potential starting QB without paying for it. Beane made all his moves so he was able to move up to get a QB. You cant fix a whole team in one offseason. If Allen and Edmonds grow into great players then nobody will care what was given up for them. I would rather they traded some 2nd and 3rd picks to get two top ten players rather than have one top player and three other players that are down in the rankings at their position. The Bills were not going to get their future QB and rebuild an offense in one offseason...might not even be able to do it in two. Next year they will have a lot of cap room and extra picks to improve the roster. -
Judging Beane’s decisions so far
BillsfanAZ replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with what you have said...especially the 5 yr plan. The Oline needs attention but I am not sure what Beane could have done about it this offseason. The Bills chose to spend money on the Dline. Hopefully that pays off. After the high dollar Olineman signings, the talent pool was mediocre. At that time only Wood retired. So Bodine was signed. By the time Incognito retired, the Bills couldnt do much to replace him. I think the Bills got their guys in the first three rounds of the draft. Next year will be addressing needs through the draft and free agency. -
"Big Name" cuts around the league...
BillsfanAZ replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wish that were true but unfortunately Cooper is worse. He was the worst 1st round pick by the Cardinals in quite a while. He couldnt even finish the season with several other teams without being cut. -
Vontae Davis is a problem....
BillsfanAZ replied to Bronxbomber21's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We all may want some players replaced but that replacement has to come from the Bills roster. After the final cuts there may be one or two players cut that can help immediately but chances are slim. The Bills will have to rely on current players stepping up or scheming to help the weak positions.
