I am psyched as if the Bills won a big game. This was necesary and I was not sure Beane would do it.
-
My instinct when he was pounding the turf against Miami was that he was that was his last play in Buffalo.

Josh Allen can snap it to himself but it might be Alec Anderson.

Tre White A Post June 1st Cut, According to Schefter
Matt_In_NH replied to par73's topic in The Stadium Wall
In addition, it frees up some cap in 2025 because his salary was 10.5M so saves like 6.5M if he stayed on the team next year. -
Rasul Douglas contract restructure... saves $2.5 mill
Matt_In_NH replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Add void years like they did with McGovern? Or possibly they added a year or two. -
Love Morse but this is in the best interest of the Bills for years to come, not just Morse, Harty, Poyer, White....this is what they needed to do. So glad Beane did not try kicking the can down the road again.

I agree but the HC has something to say about what player the HC wants them to get on the roster don't they ? Maybe the end all be all as far as the contracts go isn't his fault for signing them but he must have had some say in it and left which may have been part of his reason of leaving . Yes he plays a role so we agree but the GM approves the contract financials, guarantees, years etc.

I thought Mickey Loomis was the GM in NO and George Paton is t he GM in Denver? Sure Payton had something to do with the over spending NO did but it is too early to say one way or the other what will happen in Denver. The fact he moved on from Wilson shows he has balls, the easy thing is just stay the coarse, Wilson played better last year under Payton. He has a vision and is pushing the team towards that vision. I don't love Payton though and would not want him instead of McDermott but I think a lot of what is in the OP is just looking to blame Payton for lots of things that were not in his control or at least partly not in his control.

Quandre Diggs should be priority 1 in FA
Matt_In_NH replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Going into year 10 at age 31.....are we going to pay him for his past accomplishments or what he can do in the future? Not interested in paying another aging player. We should find the next quandre Diggs who is 25 IMO -
Good thing New England will be worse. I was worried about that.

He wont be on the team, he will have no dead cap or anything? The Bills do not have a good amount of cap in 2025, the Bills are 29th with 27 mil in space but that is before they push a ton of money from this year to next year, that will be negative by the time they are done. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cap/2025/

Dion Dawkins Value - Extend or Trade?
Matt_In_NH replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
You are repeating yourself and also redundant I am not advocating for the trade, just saying there should be a price you would be willing to make a move. You could easily be correct on what someone is willing to pay and I would not trade him for a late 3rd. Beane should investigate all options if someone was interested in him. -
So this gets you a 5th this year and helps the cap next year, it is kind of a cap neutral move for 2024....saves 1.44M but that has to be replaced so saves a little but the real savings is next year.

Dion Dawkins Value - Extend or Trade?
Matt_In_NH replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
I dont agree but I would do that deal. the cap situation is kind of broken. what logic did the chiefs use when they traded hill. They fixed wr when it was not broke and it has worked out ok. Not saying I think this is a great idea but you should listen to trades if teams are willing that don’t involve Josh Allen. -
Dion Dawkins Value - Extend or Trade?
Matt_In_NH replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Someone like Dawkins should have a price beane is willing to part with him for. Can you get a late first or second round pick you could replace him with on a cost controlled contract? Risky? Sure but at some point you cannot keep extending and doing salary to bonus conversions. I think it is highly unlikely but for the right price sure I’d do it. -

What would you get for him? -
According to spotrac it saves 1.4 million with a 4m dead cap hit. Afraid of concussions?
-
Will they extend Morse now?
