I think it has been proved that you don't have to be living to have a high level federal position. -

Your Top Three Initiatives for Trump
Matt_In_NH replied to Andy1's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
But are those tax cuts ever paid for with spending cuts? Answer is no. The cuts were deficit funded and you think its it is some great move because it greats a temporary boom, of course it does, duh! The net affect is more money in the economy which produces jobs, people consume but it is good for today, what about 50 years from now, what about kids/grand kids...what are they being left with the growth of deficits and debt that tries to Quelch an insatiable urge for more money for me today. This is not a republican or democrat problem, it is a everyone problem no one talks about. The reality is this country needs a come to Jesus moment in regards to debt but no one talks about it. New age economists have made up new theories based on observations but none of it is laws of physics, it is a complicated web of policy and economic conditions that don't stay static, things change. -
NFL officiating is broken. How do we fix it?
Matt_In_NH replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am a referee defender because I think the job is so much harder and in some respects impossible. Not saying there cannot be improvements but I think it is way harder of a job and they actually are much better than people realize. There are 22 players on the field and 7 officials. They simply cannot see everything in real time that you see on the various camera angles that you can slow down after the fact. It just makes sense that they "miss" things because their eyes can only be focused on one thing, sure you have peripheral vision but that is not able to see details. The harder ones to forgive are when there is a flag that should not have been. This happens with holding and PI, things happen fast and I believe they do about as good as a human can do. The NFL makes more rules and adds details to rules all the time, there is more for guys to monitor for. NFL officiating in general is light years better than 30 years ago before there was replay They greatly improved the catch rule a few years ago They added quick reviews for obvious misses of spots or did the guy get in or was it a first down, no challenges needed, they fix it after and dont really slow the game down. They get spots right more than they used to. They get catches right more often then they used to Full time officials is a dumb idea, it changes nothing about a humans ability to see/process a 1000 details per second in real time. What has changed is attention to the officials, memes, gifs, social media where a 2 second loop can be slowed down and shared incessantly. -

Best End of Season Scenario for Bills
Matt_In_NH replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
My favorite ending is when the Bills win the SB They also beat the Bills last year -
If the Bills win Sunday, first time they are 8-2 after 10 games in 31 years.

I would very much like for this to happen.

Your Top Three Initiatives for Trump
Matt_In_NH replied to Andy1's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I very much down taxes get simplified....changes sure but they are intentionally complicated to benefit those who lobby for that whoI think are very much aligned with Trump Here is my one issue 1. Reduce deficits and pay down some debt. -
I was thinking tendon which generally wont heal without surgery. I am no doctor but I have "heard" about injuries that partially tears and ultimately the player needs surgery but there is an option to play through it to finish the year and hope further injury does not occur. So there could be ligament and muscle strains/tears that could heal along with a partial tendon or maybe even a complete tendon tear. He has no splint and is not playing while Cooper has a splint and could play....point is there are lots of different injuries you could have that have different treatment regimens.

Could be a partially torn ligament that could go either way.

Jordan Poyer needs to be suspended

It did not intentionally hit him in the head. If you play safety in the NFL you play aggressive and you have to live with 15 yard penalties sometimes when the inevitable happens. The penalties and fines are part of being an NFL defender. -
So you're saying there is a chance?

Is this the best team in the Allen era?
Matt_In_NH replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Other than Allen this team lacks super high end talent. Chiefs have three. You could argue the bills had two with Diggs but he kind of disappeared in the post season. They don’t have a game wrecker on defense. -
The decision to go for the FG - right or wrong?
Matt_In_NH replied to Matt_In_NH's topic in The Stadium Wall
Honestly in the moment, I was shocked they were kicking it and didnt have time to process my real thoughts. But I am someone who kind of trusts the team is better at making decisions than I am and so I was just watching it thinking, no way this goes through. The funny thing about the bolded, is people in this thread are mostly saying it was the right thing....maybe they felt that way. I suspect most say that just because it went through the uprights. In many ways he had nothing to lose but he crushed that ball! It was so awesome of a moment. That drive was an unmitigated disaster saved by 2 Dolphin penalties. -

11/3/24 Game 9 GAMEDAY! Bills vs Dolphins Post Game Thread
Matt_In_NH replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Reflecting back on the second half, wow both teams were executing at a high level on offense and taking what the defense gave them. The Dolphins played about as well as they could have.....and still lost! It was a great game with one team in utter desperation trying to do anything to beat their Dad but in the end it never works. -

He has not had great moments in years at this point, expecting that to change is wishful thinking. Not saying they don't need help but I don't think Phillips is the droid we are looking for.
