I dont agree with this. People have always wanted something for free IF THEY CAN GET IT. The issue with DirecTV and other media providers is that they offer low priced packages to get customers then continually raise prices, add fees. The people who just pay get taken advantage of. The price for TV has gone from tens of dollars to hundreds of dollars in a relatively short period of time. The good people who "dont want things for free" get screwed. The whole system is set up to take advantage of the people who do not complain while the media companies satisfy those that do and just take less from them but it still goes to the bottom line. That philosophy maximizes profits. Media companies are sleazy as heck in my opinion. I do think that a few hundred dollars for Sunday Ticket is reasonable but you have to pay much more just for the right to pay for Sunday Ticket.

I think they decided they want a better punter and this is a chance to do that. It is not a given but they will churn until they have a better punter even if that does not happen in 2018. They are forcing themselves to get better. Colton was average.....in all facets you want to be above average (obviously). When it comes to punting, the snap and blocking up front are almost a given, the performance of that part of the game falls a lot on the one guy who punts the ball. The best they could do with Schmidt is average and they are not willing to settle for that. Oh and they evidently tweaked Belicheck which is always good to do. I find the whole stash the punter on the practice squad to be a little weird though....how many punters are on practice squads?

nothing there should be surprising.........put yourself in their shoes, something like 30 coaches have come and gone in the AFC East during their magical ride the last 20 years or so. None of those coaches/GM's have been successful. At this point the only way to get their attention is to actually beat them, nothing else matters, its all just noise.

Not with the money this team will use in FA next year. I think that scenario is not very likely.

Just because it is "elaborated" does not make it true, the cost is NOT minimal, it is significant, a pick and 3.5 million. Minimal would be signing Dez Bryant to a vet minimum deal wihthno guaranteed and then waiving him. And no I dont think that will happen nor would I want it to. How was the potential "incredible"? The guy has been a disappointment with known attitude issues. He demonstrated how emotionally immature he was on hard knocks. The risk was bigger than you say and the upside was less than what you say in my opinion. You make a good point about moving on from a mistake, that is a good thing. At the end of the day this is not a huge deal but I view it as a mistake and not just because he is cut, I thought it was a mistake when the trade happened.

In terms of talent then probably true but the thing that gets overlooked is the contract. You cant have a bunch of all pros who are the highest paid at their position, but you can have a bunch of all pro's on your team if you acquire them through the draft. You have to consider the contract.

You have to consider a lot in a short period of time before you throw the challenge flag. On a lot of those "line of gain" challenges, they end up being inconclusive. From what I saw he probably got it but there had to be clear irrefutable evidence, not sure we had that on that play.
