Make the trade for Stephon Diggs
Matt_In_NH replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Diggs will not all of a sudden make Allen make better decisions. I know you dont agree but Diggs will have no noticeable impact on this offense. -
A Few Thoughts About the *Pats game, in no particular order
Matt_In_NH replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As far as Daboll and play calling, not sure what would have been different here. But it is obvious the Pats strategy was to make Allen a pocket passer, only allow Allen to escape back to the left, back to the right or straight back. They kept the pocket formed and collapsed it, each guy keeping their position. They did not want Allen to break contain or release up the middle. Escape backwards is a disaster for Allen as it is when he makes a lot of mistakes. Allen either could not find open guys or they were not open so he tried to force things resulting in sacks, fumbles and interceptions. Ultimately I think we need to give the Pats D their due to a degree, they are very good...while at the same time recognizing the Bills moved the ball well at times and just made too many mistakes. -

I guess you are new to football -
They can lose to the Titans easily and will if they have 4 turnovers. While they are not a world beater they are a hard nosed team and playing at home.

I did. I think I said it is a penalty. The only way to prevent the first down is to load up and punish the rusher. Don’t put yourself in that position. I know you won’t agree but that is how I see it. Run like a running back will result in Allen on the sideline. -
Daboll, 0-3 points at half most games!

Agree. They will lose games to teams they should beat should they continue. -

I agree but the execution over the four weeks is not terrible. It’s god and bad, inconsistent. Allen was bad today but is better than last year. If he can take more steps forward he can be pretty good. He needs to not think he can make a play in every play though. That will end his career eventually. -

Probably true but 12 would never put himself in that situation. That is why he always is available to play and can still play at 42. Superstars get calls.......all sports work that way. Josh needs to become a superstar and then our team will get those calls -

They were sitting 8th in yards and 14th in points going into this week after last year being like 31/32. The offense is greatly improved, the play calling is greatly improved. They have thrown for 250 in all games and running the ball waaaaay better than last year. They need to stop making unforced errors and we need to be patient and let Josh improve more. -
At Tenessee is tough game, hopefully they bounce back and beat another wildcard contender.

Or they could get/develop a true franchise QB -

I dont agree, sure that was a penalty but when you consider the down and distance on a key third down and that occured close to the marker you can understand why that hit occurs. If that was on gores head, I dont believe there would be a call. I know others will not agree with what I just said. But the other thing is if Josh continues to run like a RB then we will continue to see him missing time on the field. He needs to throw for first downs rather than run for them. I like the competitiveness, the desire to win at all costs, but the costs will be high when he is lost for the season on one of these plays. -

That play was huge. Take away the blocked punt and the game plays out different, both sides make different calls. You cant say it would be a tie game or the Bills win by 1, it never would have went that way. You make decisions and calls based on the down, distance, score etc. -

The Duke Williams Bandwagon Post
Matt_In_NH replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont agree, WIth Duke Johnson in and Zay out those three INT's are still INT's. Those are on the QB throwing where he should not be, trying to make things happen. Allen forces the ball. -

So you think the blocked punt is on Bojo? I did not consider that but will look at it again. But that guy was right in there, not sure I agree. -

I was questioning him but his stats are not bad and I dont really blame him for the issues today. Block the rushers and he gets good punts off, poor blocking results in poor results. -

For me this game came down to 5 key mistakes made by Josh Allen. All three INT's and two sacks in FG range are all on him, unforced errors due to trying to do too much. Secondarily, wasting challenges by McDermott was terrible, two awful challenges with no chance of getting them overturned. Heck, we played the entire 4th quarter with no timeouts and had to take a penalty down by the goal line that may have wiped out a go ahead TD. Third was some costly penalties but all in all the team played hard and they could have been overcome. The punter has not been bad before this game was he? The blocking was a problem on two punts, one was blocked and the other he shanked due to a rusher. Very encouraged by the effort by the D and the offense without the mistakes outplayed the Pats offense. We ran the ball well against this tough defense. A lot to be encouraged about but we f moral victories, you have to start beating these guys. -
Josh Allen lost the game by himself
Matt_In_NH replied to dayman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I live his competitiveness but He was really bad. Sometimes you just gotta be willing to punt. Three unforced errors for ints. Two more sacks in fg range. He won’t last long taking those shots either. -

It seems they only want to be able to fix something like the nfc champions ship game from last year. It has to be totally obvious -
