A smart organization knows you need a great QB to build a winning franchise. Sure you can make a run here and there, get into the playoffs sometimes and maybe, just maybe once in a blue moon win it all with a guy like Glennon or Bridgewater. But to win year in and year out requires one main ingredient, a franchise QB. A smart organization leaves no stone unturned, does not rule anything out when it comes to finding that franchise QB.
I don't think the QB's are just a crap shoot this year either, sure there is no "Andrew Luck" but there seem to be 4 confirmed high end prospects. You can have whatever DL, CB and LB you want, it wont affect wins and losses much. A franchise QB on the other hand can directly contribute a lot to winning. Just look at he Packers last year when Rodgers went out or SF when they started Garapplolo
